Safeness In Self

Safeness in Self

Bathtub Spell

image

Purpose:

To attract the best version of yourself, and to center yourself in preparation for future blessings.

image

Time:

Anywhere between 45 minutes to 1 hour: depending on your preferred bathing time.

Allergy Warnings:

This spell uses bay leaves, if you are allergic to any of the materials I encourage you to replace the materials with ones that represent the same meanings as the originals. Please do not place yourself in harm’s way to complete this spell the way I have it written, the Craft is different to each of us, and should be explored in accordance with our own magic and not the magic of another.

image

Materials:

2-3 Bay Leaves: representing protection, boosting, prophecy, purification, defense. In this spell representing seeing your future self, the self you desire to be currently.

Vanilla Scented Candle or Tea Light: representing healing, protection, harmony, unity. In this spell representing centering yourself to accept the changes ahead.

Fire/Flame: representing empowerment, enlightenment, comfort, rebirth, inspiration, illumination, hearth and heart, manifestation. In this spell representing finding your shadow self where it is now in the darkness, and bringing it back into the light.

Quartz: representing clarity, cleansing, healing, purification, and inner peace, enhancement, amplification. In this spell representing protecting yourself from negative energies around you that may be blocking your aura from reaching it’s full potential.

Bundle of Palo Santo/Sage: representing cleansing. In this spell being used to cleanse the energy of the water, as well as your own energy to prepare it to be reimbued with new purpose.

Set-Up Steps:

Run the bath to desired fullness and temperature. You should be able to at least submerge yourself mostly in the water, it is okay if you cannot fully submerge all parts of your body as most standard tub sizes are quite small.

Gather all your materials close to the bathtub with you, but do not yet get into the water. Once all your materials are gathered, disrobe before beginning the spell.

This spell is incantation-based, and you will need to cast it with intentions in mind, as well as in order by incantation.

Spell Steps:

Begin reciting the incantation all the way through without interruption, first in English, then again once more in Latin. Both versions are included below these steps.

When following the incantation the physical steps done in time with the recitation should be as follows”

- Crumple the bay leaves. Sprinkle them clockwise into the water of the bath. Do not stir it. If your drainage system is poor or if you are uncomfortable with bathing with the herbs later, feel free to simply place them in a sachet and stir the tub with the sachet before leaving it in the tub for the rest of the spell.

- Light the Palo Santo/Sage. Use the lit Palo Santo to first cleanse yourself. Everyone does cleansing a little differently in accordance with their practice, but if looking for inspiration: I cleanse by first running the lit bundle across my whole body and then drawing the sign of Lilith on my abdomen in smoke. Then proceed to cleanse the water by tracing the outline of the tub in a clockwise fashion as many times as feels best to you.

- Light the Vanilla Candle. Place the candle on the side of the tub where your head would rest, but do not enter the water yet.

- Pick up the Quartz and hold it in your dominant hand, place your closed fist over your heart, and begin stirring the tub clockwise with your non-dominant hand. Continue to stir the tub holding the quartz against yourself until you have fully finished reciting both the English and the Latin versions of the incantations.

- Once you have finished the reciting portion of the spell, step into and submerge yourself in the water, make sure to get every piece of your body covered even if not all at the same time. For example, splashing water up onto your arms and back, or laying down briefly to dip your head into the water. Leave the candle burning until it either burns down, or you are finished with your bath, in which case please gently snuff it out.

- When getting out of the bath, stand up, and before stepping out or beginning to drain the water, close out the spell.  You can do this in any way you please, so long as the meaning is the ending of your casting. Many people choose to say “amen”, “thank you”, or may also choose to praise a chosen god/goddess/spirit guide for closing a cast. I personally do not have a token deity in my practice, so I close my spells with the simple “So Mote it Be”.

Incantation:

English Version:

In water’s mirror, I am found.

Floating as leaves towards my true self.

The smoke and scent draw me in,

To clean and steady my soul against the winds.

There I am amongst the ashes,

Safe & Sound in crystal crevices.

Latin Version:

In speculo aquarum invenior.

Flocci versus mei vero.

Fumus et odor trahunt me,

Ut emundare et stabilive contra ventos animam meam.

Ibi sum inter cineres,

Incolumis in crystallis cavernis.

Blessings be, & thank you for reading.

3am thoughts:

the places that resonate most with me, are part of me, are the liminal spaces. the places that aren't proper places, but spaces betwixt; waystations, transitional places.

crossroads, stairwells, gas stations, train platforms, airport gates, cemataries. rooftops at dusk, or any time really. long stretches of highway in bad country when no one else is on the horizon. a pier with a lone bench at the end and a flickering lampost, surrounded by 70 year old bullet scars in the concrete. 3am at the waffle house, where everything is real and nothing is. an abandoned railroad bridge where your friends used to jump in the river, but you refused knowing instinctively the nature of the place. the waiting room of a hospital when you're silently pleading with gods who don't listen about a beginning or an end. overgrown trails and backyards that abut the highway. an out of the way park, with a monument so weatherbeaten and overgrown that no one remembers what it once commemorated. a party when you're not sure if it's too late or too early but you're the only one left awake so you sit at the window and wait to see what comes.

my heart resides in these spaces and my thoughts often turn to them. rarely are they pleasant, often discomforting because things are thinner there, both less and more real. have you felt it, the power of liminal spaces? that niggling sense that things aren't as they seem and really never were? that feeling that you've overlooked something important but can't remember what it was? next time you find yourself in a place such as these, listen, there is power there, and a promise. the promise that everything changes, moves on, passes for good or ill and the power to see it through. change, transition, death and rebirth.

Hey Hawa!! I manifested my college degree in 4 days!! I Remember seeing a success story not that long ago of an anon who manifested their degree. I was in a similar situation and thought “if they can do it, so can I”.

Everyone was posting about their graduations and I was like that could be me if I stayed in school….but the law came in clutch. I affirmed and did SATs at night for 4 days. But not obsessively for some reason instead of feeling stressed like I do with other things i felt quite peaceful about this one.

Any who the morning of day 4 my mom was asking me when we were going to take grad pics. I was like huh? And she looked at me like 🤨. My mom told me we barley had gotten any pics during my actual graduation and she wanted to take professional ones. At this point I’m kinda dumb founded and low key still not following along.

So obviously I asked my mom where my diploma was, and in true Immigration parent nature she put it in the safe. But there was my diploma…and pics and vids of graduation…

I think this experience really shattered my logical mind. The degree I thought was plausible but the fact I’m in videos and pictures with Other students, friends and family?!!! Mind blown.

OMG U DID THAT

I want to be a dream of light made ink that is written forever in your memory. Leave in every corner of it, a smile, a ray of sunshine and rose petals so that when you look for me, I have always something beautiful to give you. I want to be that precious story that you will someday tell someone with all the tenderness in your voice overflowing and your heart beating with gratitude. Even if I can't be forever in your arms, it doesn't matter as long as you can remember my name and while saying it, it draws a sweet smile on your lips and lets shine the sparkles of the stars that I planted in your eyes, and then I will be an eternal caress in your soul.

self-help challenge #1

create an alter ego for yourself. make her the version of yourself you want to be.

many artists have ae's. when beyonce's rocking it on stage, she's sasha fierce. when tyler the creator is performing, he's igor. the point of an ae, for most is to gain confidence and to be fearless.

the more confident you are in your future, the more successful you will be.

*note: i refer to your ae (alter ego) as she/her. you can use whichever pronouns you like for your ae, of course!

what's her name?

be sure to be thorough and research the meaning and origin of the name you choose for yourself. names have power.

what does she look like?

your alter ego should look like the better version of yourself. make yourself look like her. dress up. be extra if you want.

what does a typical day for her look like?

be as creative as possible with this. nothing is impossible with manifesting. nothing.

what's her personality like?

find five words to describe her with. remember your alter ego has no faults. she's perfect. don't let this intimidate you. if you are your alter ego, then you are, by default, perfect, too. you don’t have to try, you are.

who does your alter ego surround herself with?

watch the friends your ae associates with. you should be friends with people that can put you ahead. whether that be financially, mentally, or physically, only make friends that make you better. don't associate with those who make you worse than your worth.

what kind of media does your ae consume, if any?

think about your ae's favorite author, artist, dancer, singer, etc. how present she is on social media. is she a public figure? how does she influence the media, if so?

why are you creating your alter ego?

why are you frankensteining, in other words? are you tired of being cooped up in your home all the time? do you want people to hang on to your every word? do you want to have influence?

💰 Money Bowl Musings 💰

💰 Money Bowl Musings 💰

What better way to charge a money bowl than to add money itself!? 💵

There are several things you can to to incorporate money into your spell bowl! Money not only represents the obvious currency, but also the family, home, and security in life. Spells like this are more than selfish, greedy wishes, but often stem from a desire to build a future for something greater.

💰 Money Bowl Musings 💰

For this instance, I wrote “working now to build a better future for us” as a reminder to let my family inspire me on the hard days!

Some examples of how to use paper bills in a money bowl other than an obvious donation are:

Laying the money loose

Writing intentions, spells, and sigils

Using different dollar values for different meanings

💰 Money Bowl Musings 💰

Since money exchanges so many hands and causes me a lot of anxiety, I did smoke cleanse the bill before doing anything else, clearing it of negative energies that do not need to spread or manifest further! Afterward, I wrote my intention/reminder, folded it up, and put it in!

Next time you have some extra cash and want to pay it forward, do so with the money bowl and watch it be rewarded back to you! 💸
