What Do You Think Would Happen If Atsushi Tried Catnip

No thoughts, just Atsushi having tiger instincts. Atsushi having a special pillow he hides in his futon just for kneading. He hides the pillow because he was shamed for his tiger instincts at the orphanage, but as he opens up to the ADA more, different members get to see his more suppressed instincts (they think its the cutest thing ever). Dazai is the first to discover the pillow and Atsushi gets super scared before Dazai reassures him that its okay and that he thinks its adorable. This is the first time Atsushi has ever been allowed to express his tiger instincts, and in happiness, he rubs his cheek against Dazai. Dazai is shocked and Atsushi is too after disengaging with the cheek rub but Dazai quickly regains his composure and hugs Atsushi back, while rubbing his cheek. Atsushi is incredibly overjoyed about Dazai (his family...!!) scenting him and expressing his love for Atsushi that he starts chuffing too. Dazai screams

It is I, Nyatsushi Anon, back again because the power of tiger kitty Atsushi is something I don't get to talk about. Anyways, now that I've said my bit on Tiger Atsushi, here's another Nyatsushi Concept- Imagine him grooming the people around him!!! Like, Kyōka rolls out of bed and he, without thinking, tries to "groom" her hair into neatness. Someone has a smudge of dirt on their cheek and he licks it off of them without noticing. Bonus points if he's got a rough tongue!!!

OWOWOWOWO HE GROOMSS!!! okay but kyouka would definitely suddenly start showing up with different hairstyles or naomi and yosani are like “yo how come ur hairs so neat drop the tutorial” and kyouka is like “atsushi. i dont know what he does” and atsushis just like :DDD so he becomes a makeshit hair salon for the Ladies . they love him

Get ready for a slew of Bungo Stray Dogs hcs because I'm so fucking hyped from the trailer. I'm not sure if I've done this before and Tumblr's search function sucks ass but here are some Catboy Atsushi hcs (With some Shin Soukoku) because I am a firm believer that if there's an animal-type character then they should have animal traits

-When he cares about someone he'll do the slow blink, but all the other person can see is Atsushi staring at them kind of intently, blinking slowly, and then returning to his work like nothing happened

-He purrs when he feels comfortable and safe. This could be if someone plays with his hair, curled up before he goes to sleep, situations like that. But it was something the orphanage punished him for so he tries to repress it as hard as he can. When the agency finds out they think it's the cutest thing possible and always try to elicit that response

-He bunts, the thing where cats drag their jawline against something they care about. The first time he does it to Akutagawa they both freeze and Akutagawa just kind of stares at him for a moment. Atsushi promptly realizes what he did and starts panicking and apologizing profusely. Akutagawa's not entirely sure what happened but he thought it was cute, not that he'd ever tell him that of course

-If completely left alone his nails will naturally grow into claws but they were always cut by the headmaster, often cut back so short his nail beds would start bleeding. He still cuts them back

Lately I’ve been really enamoured with the idea that the tiger is like. a secondary personality in atsushi’s head that he can speak to, and occasionally the living incarnation of gremlin brain

atsushi, grocery shopping: okay so i’ve saved enough coupons to eat this week tiger: fish. eat. consume! atsushi: no, i’m not transforming in the middle of the supermarket so you can go apeshit on the raw fish section. tiger: but….fish prey atsushi: but money can and should be exchanged for goods and services tiger: useless square leaves.

atsushi: smiling is a display of affection, okay? tiger: baring your teeth is a challenge and an invitation to fight or submit atsushi: well, how would you show affection? tiger: slow blink to display trust. rub scent glands against them. chuff. curl around to share warmth. atsushi: that’s– listen I know I had a weird childhood deprived of affection, but I really don’t think that’s how it works. tiger: ….bring prey for them to consume? atsushi: no. i still haven’t been able to look Kunikida in the eyes ever since you left the dead rat on his back porch tiger: was gift. atsushi: he doesn’t eat rats! tiger:…bring mouse? atsushi: you know this would be a lot easier if you didn’t keep suggesting dead animals the rest of the ADA, who’s been watching this one sided exchange go down: 0_0

atsushi doesnt like storms becuz all alone in the cage the loud noises scared him but its okay now becuz dazai and ranpo noticed so dazai holds his hand when its storming so the loud noises arent as loud and ranpo gives him candy and yosano bought him noise cancelling headphones and kunikida makes him hot chocolate and fukuzawa gives him a weighted blanket and junichiro calls him every time it says its gonna storm to let him know and kyouka sits by his side so he knows he's not in the cage and akutagawa tried to fight the sky (he was a little tipsy when he first learned)

Headcanon that the reason why Atsushi’s eyes are purple and yellow is because the yellow part of his eyes is his ability. He was born with bad eyesight and couldn’t see shit so the tiger manifested itself in Atsushi’s eyes to fix his eyesight but now he’s also colorblind.

And then for Atsushi’s first month and a half of working at the agency every time Dazai makes direct skin to skin contact with Atsushi his vision gets 10x worse. And Atsushi’s too scared to point it out at first but eventually he’s like “hey guys every time Dazai touches me I can’t see and also I start seeing new colors what’s wrong with me”

Eventually they all figure it out and get Atsushi a pair of glasses so that he can turn off his ability every once and awhile, Atsushi also ends up learning how to drive because Kunikida and Yosano can’t just be the agency’s chauffeurs and even though he can only drive if he turns off his ability and puts on his glasses it’s still really funny to say that a colorblind teenager can drive better than 90 percent of the agency.
