The agency is on a mission and don't notice that Atsushi stopped walking to stare down an alley with his ears and tail out and slowly wagging. He ends up stalking a raccoon and pouncing in it. They're all disgusted when he brings it to them and tries to give it to Dazai, who's just amused by catsushi.

atsushi: heyyy dazai-san!! good morning!!!!!!

dazai: hey atsushi~ do you wanna hear my cat impression???

atsushi: ?

atsushi: uh sure ig

Dazai: Oh just a hunch.

Kyouka: gets the signal, puts her weapon down It means your family now.

Sigma: emotional thank you tries doing it back to Atsushi.

Atsushi: tears up.

Ranpo realising he fucked up going to that meeting with Fukuchi without glasses and alone.

Because the moment Atsushi sees Fukuchi, he's infront of Ranpo hissing with his claws out.

Ranpo: already knows but looks at Atsushi.

Atsushi: smiles and waves at Poe from his desk.

Ranpo: Yup.

• Constantly bites the skin around his nails.

• Is really jealous of Dazai because he can whistle but Atsushi can't.

• Poor baby (grown ass man) gets taunted everyday. 😔

• Half his wardrobe consists of the other agency members don't wear anymore/don't fit them.

• Sensitive teeth.

• Cannot eat anything super cold without wincing.

• Craves attention but prefers to be alone.

• Drools and chuffs in his sleep.

• Kunikida keeps tissues on his desk to wipe down his face after he takes a nap.

• Can't do anything without explicit permission and clear instructions.

• Constant victim of "your mum" jokes.

• Everyone sits in awkward silence after. 

• Will remind others how good they're being even in the midst of chaos.

• He's like a broken record of admiration for those he looks up to.

• He gets really attached to his possessions because growing up in the orphanage he didn't really have anything that was his and only his.

• Lowkey a hoarder.

• Will never use something because he feels he has to save it for the perfect situation and that if he uses it at the wrong moments he will be wasting it.

• Smells like soap and apple scented shampoo.

• Was gifted shampoo for Christmas a year into working at the agency.

• Up untill that point he had just been using plain bar soap for his entire body.

• Kunikida makes him wear fluffy socks and slippers every morning/night.

He does not get a break.

• Will binge on whatever food is infront of him because he's scared it will disappear and he will miss the opportunity to eat.

I think we don't lean into atsushi being a big cat enough.

By which I mean that he should leave dead mice by the beds of the Ada members. (and akutagawa's)

Lately I’ve been really enamoured with the idea that the tiger is like. a secondary personality in atsushi’s head that he can speak to, and occasionally the living incarnation of gremlin brain

atsushi, grocery shopping: okay so i’ve saved enough coupons to eat this week tiger: fish. eat. consume! atsushi: no, i’m not transforming in the middle of the supermarket so you can go apeshit on the raw fish section. tiger: but….fish prey atsushi: but money can and should be exchanged for goods and services tiger: useless square leaves.

atsushi: smiling is a display of affection, okay? tiger: baring your teeth is a challenge and an invitation to fight or submit atsushi: well, how would you show affection? tiger: slow blink to display trust. rub scent glands against them. chuff. curl around to share warmth. atsushi: that’s– listen I know I had a weird childhood deprived of affection, but I really don’t think that’s how it works. tiger: ….bring prey for them to consume? atsushi: no. i still haven’t been able to look Kunikida in the eyes ever since you left the dead rat on his back porch tiger: was gift. atsushi: he doesn’t eat rats! tiger:…bring mouse? atsushi: you know this would be a lot easier if you didn’t keep suggesting dead animals the rest of the ADA, who’s been watching this one sided exchange go down: 0_0

I’m not the most hardcore fan, but I still really need to see domestic cat atsushi. Atsushi with ball of yarn, catnip, scratching furniture, all that stuff.

I read that cats (including tigers) take slower blinks/close their eyes longer around people they trust. I dunno I was just thinking it'd be really funny if Atsushi started taking some slow ass blinks around Akutagawa and he was like "Did he sleep enough??" the whole time.
