Atsushi with more non-human features. Atsushi with reflective eyes that creep out (some of) the ADA. Atsushi with pupils that contract into slits like a cat's when the area is bright. Atsushi with small fangs, canines sharper than a normal persons. Atsushi with heightened senses, who picks up on small details that even Ranpo can't. Atsushi who has naturally more animalistic behaviors and movements. Atsushi who shows affection in strange ways, like headbutting or slow blinking. Atsushi who's ability is wholly a part of him, ingrained in his very being.

Headcanon A:  realistic

He keeps a notebook about all his new experiences living in Yokohama, but rather than focusing on the fighting and bad things, it’s mostly filled with recipes for different foods and drawings of random things he’s seen.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

Since tigers can’t purr, when Atsushi is in his tiger form, he chuffs, and he makes this noise a lot in his sleep in his human form as well when he’s having a good dream.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

Despite all his efforts, he will probably always have days where he feels like he’s useless, and days where he can’t stop thinking negatively.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

As a small child, Atsushi only turned into a tiger cub when he transformed.

Life is so much more enjoyable once you stop putting so much pressure on yourself

atsushi with more cat/tiger behaviors but some lesser discussed ones:

he scratches all the doorways of the agency building and his dorm. kunikida scolds him for damaging property for over an hour but while he apologizes he’s strangely uncontrite (at least for atsushi who tends to overapologize) about it

a mostly nocturnal sleep schedule feels the most natural to him but since his orphanage’s schedule was (quite literally) beaten into him, he regularly wakes up early, though after a long mission or multiple in a row, he tends to sleep through the day instead.

when really frustrated (usually during an argument with akutagawa) he has a tendency to stomp his feet. it tends to break the tension, and atsushi finds its super embarrassing. akutagawa finds it cute

he’s constantly fighting the urge to sit on his coworkers desks while they’re working and distract them. same with knocking things off their desks.

head bunting!!!! he first starts doing it to kyouka after the end of the guild plot. just does it to her one morning while they’re cooking breakfast without realizing. he’s mortified for a moment until kyouka does it back, equally shy yet earnest about it. slowly he catches himself doing it to the rest of the agency: when kenji gives him a hug after a mission, when yosano buys him something he was looking at during a shopping trip, while sharing lunch with the tanizakis, to ranpo after atsushi solves his first mystery on own, to kunikida and dazai after a dangerous mission. he hasn’t worked himself up to doing it to the president yet (and fukuzawas kind of sad about it). dazai and kunikida are the most flustered by it, kenji and kyouka do it back to him the most.

as much as he hates being locked up or confined against his will (and he really hates it), he genuinely loves being in small spaces. he sleeps in the closest for kyoukas privacy but he does geniunely feel comfortable there. sometimes he eats lunch under his desk or in the supply room if he’s feeling stressed. dazai did give him a giant box once to see if he’d sit in it and he totally did.

he tends to suck on the corners of blankets and things like his shirts or sweaters when he’s asleep or distracted. dazai used to tease him for it until he read that it was often found cats taken to soon from their mothers. he didn’t really find it funny after that

he will just Stare at people. agency members look up from their work and will see him looking directly at them. he usually snaps out of it right after and apologizes but just like slow blinks and winks and closing his eyes, he starts doing it more and more as he gets in tune with his ability.

It is I, Nyatsushi Anon, back again because the power of tiger kitty Atsushi is something I don't get to talk about. Anyways, now that I've said my bit on Tiger Atsushi, here's another Nyatsushi Concept- Imagine him grooming the people around him!!! Like, Kyōka rolls out of bed and he, without thinking, tries to "groom" her hair into neatness. Someone has a smudge of dirt on their cheek and he licks it off of them without noticing. Bonus points if he's got a rough tongue!!!

OWOWOWOWO HE GROOMSS!!! okay but kyouka would definitely suddenly start showing up with different hairstyles or naomi and yosani are like “yo how come ur hairs so neat drop the tutorial” and kyouka is like “atsushi. i dont know what he does” and atsushis just like :DDD so he becomes a makeshit hair salon for the Ladies . they love him

and ohoho!! lickin shit off. he wont think it’s a big deal but when dazai returns it and does the same to him he jerks back in shock and is like O-O cause he does N O T expect that (just like how cats dont expect it when u do the same mannerisms as them AGEJEHJSKDS)

It is! The headcanon anon!!! I shall give you four fluffy, somewhat cat!Atsushi headcanons right now to make you smile 💜💜💜 Hopefully these are as cute as I think they are! Regardless of how plausible they may or may not be, though, they do make me smile- Hopefully. They can do that for you, too!

- Much like actual tigers will groom each other and their young, Atsushi will also do this!!! It’s primarily reserved for the baby siblings (IE- Kyōka, Lucy, and Kenji), and it’s done in a more human fashion, but I’ve always imagined that he’ll start idly brushing their hair if it’s messy or it he just doesn’t have anything to do with his hands. He’s surprisingly good at giving them cute hairstyles!!!

- I like to imagine that the ADA has an unspoken rule that you Are Not allowed to move if Atsushi falls asleep on you… Like if someone’s pet falls asleep on your lap, you know?

- He bleps sometimes. I’m sorry, I don’t make the rules. He kitty, he blep.

- Okay so this one might be more funny that fluffy but I feel like the idea of Atsushi chasing a laser pointer is too good to ignore??? Ranpo would absolutely fuck with him using one and it makes me giggle.

Look no I love these and now I'm also stuck thinking about Atsushi being very particular about Dazai's bandages. One starts fraying, they get stained, anything and he's fretting
