Happy New Year Everyone. It is 2021 (Finally!)

I’ve read quite a few things over the holiday weekend. And I’m going to share a few of my favorite fics. My January Mini Masterlist is here

This is a dark story featuring Cop!Bucky and a reader trying to handle her sister who is struggling with addiction. Bucky eases into the readers life until she can’t turn around without him being there. Excellent writing, pacing and just the right amount of tension. And that ending! Perfection!

Bura na mano, Holi hai! by @awesomerextyphoon​

Let me preface this by saying I don’t read a lot of Thor. I read her Thor and was blown away. She did a lot of research for this story and damn it pays off. The detail, the love that went into this is *chef’s kiss*. Give this dark!Thor a chance, you’ll fall under his spell too.

Again, not a fan of Thor but hey a good story is a good story I remember the initial interaction that inspired this story. And the direction she took this in from that hilarious post is jaw dropping. Once this Thor gets you in sights, he is never letting you go. You will never look at construction men again, unless of course they look like Thor.

This is a continuation of a series. No you do not have to read the other parts, (you should do, they’re good too). Another dark story that will have you celebrating the holidays in only the way dark!Steve and  dark!Bucky can. And Steve, Steven Grant Rogers does something in this that will leave you😲.  This is a fun ride that will leave you wanting more. I was left poking the screen, asking for another serving of dark, delicious Coco

The Devil’s Tongue @littlefreya. 

When I say my head  spun after reading this Sherlock masterpiece, I mean it. The artistry that comes with Freya’s work is always top notch at baseline, but then she drops something like this off and causally strolls away after decimating Tumblr. I want to live in this fic with this Sherlock and be utterly ruined by that man.

This is a cute fluffy Bucky story. Hit me right in the feels, all in the feels. It was so adorable and heartwarming. And mind your business Clint, this doesn’t concern you. 

Tis the Damn Season@sweeterthanthis and @msmarvelwrites 

Tis The MotherF*cking Season indeed with Bucky Barnes.  This long, utterly decadent story reads like its only 600 words. It has a bit of everything you want in a Bucky story. You will run through the gambit of emotions and be exhausted and satisfied afterwards.

The queen of Sam fics dropped this nugget off and I am in love. Love you hear me. You need more Sam, you’ll get everything you want from her sweet and sexy Sam stories. And this fic here is a galore of smut with a little bit of Bucky voyeurism. Only bad thing about it is it needs to be longer.

Its alright. I guess.

-joking, joking- Seriously, this cowboy Angel series has me eating my words when it comes to this man. All because of her talented storytelling and her way of weaving this wonderful cowboy world. You don’t even need to be familiar with these characters to enjoy this series. Its that good. And there’s a scene in the last chapter that will live rent free in my head forever.

Sometimes you need to lay on the couch and be cuddled by Sam. And you will get that with this fluffy story that will wrap you up and keep you warm. Feeling down, or needing a little pick me up, this is it. 

Baby it’s Cold @darkficsyouneveraskedfor 

This dark!Ransom (is that redundant) was a holiday gift from the fic daddy herself. This was a wild tale that left me going welp, you had all the red flags reader, all of them bright red flashing flags. However you ended stuck with Ransom and I’m not mad at that at all.

actually put his hair in a manbun and wore an apron over his uniform to make eggs and bacon for himself and steve

builds model spaceships while living on a spaceship in space 

adopted a space aardvark he found in chains, scared, and alone

also adopted a tiny child who has been known to be an actual menace bc she had been used as a weapon and he knows what that’s like 

his name is literally “bucky barnes”

sat with a couple of kids on the fourth of july to watch the fireworks while eating a red, white, and blue popsicle

This is the reason Nancy Pelosi is so sensitive about political violence. It is the reason she does not trust these republican members of the house who refuse to go through the metal detectors on Capitol Hill. It is why the violent rhetoric used by republicans against her and other democrats upsets and angers her so much.

She knew these people that were assasinated. She is friends with Senator Diane Feinstein, who found Harvey Milk’s dead body, and unknowingly put her hand through one of his bullet holes trying to find a pulse. She is also friends with Congresswoman Jackie Speier who was shot 5 times in Jonestown where another San Francisco congressman, Leo Ryan, was shot and killed one week before Milk and Moscone.

Jackie Speier still has two bullets in her body from Jonestown. San Francisco city hall still has metal detectors at entrances and do bag searches because they have not forgotten that this happened, and city employees are not exempt from going through them because of Dan White. The entire city still has collective trauma from this two week period forty years ago, and it particularly effects their elected officials there.

History matters. Shared trauma matters. It should be taught and understood so it can be avoided from ever happening again.
