Hey, I'm back again! This time, I bring you functional tennis. Set machinima/music video: Game, Sim, Match | The Sims 3 Important info and download đŸ under the cut:
This project has been three years in the making. I started this back in 2020 after getting permission from Basimcly (aka lemmylou) to use their meshes. For various reasons, it got shelved until earlier this year. I've been on a CC creation kick this year, and in the midst of some not-so-great times that occurred from late March to early May, I decided to take on this project again as a distraction, and I put all my effort into it. I used to play tennis myself, and modeled the tennis court in the previews after the one I spent far too many summer days on (it's missing the cracks it has today)...likewise, the soundtrack to the little film I linked above was one of the top 10 songs that year, so it's the most nostalgic song looking back on that summer I started playing. This set is a combination of different elements. - This set requires the University Life đ expansion pack. Since this is a cosmetic change to the ping pong table, which comes with UL, you will need that pack for the actual tennis court object's functionality, and for the tuning mod. The deco objects (besides the tennis court objects) will work fine with base game. You can also still use the collection file for the objects even if you do not have UL. đ Default Replacements - First, the tennis is really ping pong in disguise. The tennis racket and tennis ball are default replacements. While I have provided several colors for each, you can only have one of each in your game at one time, because whichever color racket and tennis ball you choose, it will replace all ping pong paddles and all ping pong balls with the chosen color, so all sims will use the same color. Keep in mind that sims playing ping pong at the tables that came with the University Life expansion pack will also use these replacements, so you have to decide if it's worth the tradeoff. Default Replacement Mesh Credits: - The tennis racket mesh (offered as a default replacement and an edited fully recolorable deco object version) was created by LillieBou on TSR (2010). Tennis Set - LillieBou -The tennis ball mesh (offered as a default replacement and a deco object version) was created by Basimcly aka lemmylou (2020). Game. Set. Match. - Basimcly's Tumblr đ Tuning Mod - By EA design, sims will learn the hidden table tennis skill as they play, and will gradually get better. The higher their table tennis skill, the more "real" this set looks, as sims play more skillfully. - With the tuning mod, sims at least level 1 in Athletic will also improve their Athletic skill by playing tennis. I added the Fatigued moodlet if sims play for too long, and enabled playing for pregnant sims. The tuning mod will only conflict with any mod that also modifies the PlayPingPong_PingPongTable ITUN resource. đ Tennis Court Objects - As for the tennis court objects, these are ping pong tables that look like tennis courts. The mesh was created by Basimcly aka lemmylou who was kind enough to let me use their meshes for this project! - You may notice that there are four versions of the tennis court object. You can have all four versions in your game. They are all the same object with slight differences - the Volleying tennis court has the ping pong table's original routing spots, so sims stand very close to the net and all animations line up. The Match tennis courts have the routing spots moved gradually farther away. Some animations with the ball get a bit strange the further away, but I included these for variety. So if you place a few different courts down next to each other, sims playing will be standing in different spots, adding to realism for photos/videos. - The animations are designed with a table in mind, so the ball does not touch the ground. When sims lose the match, they will throw their racket down, but it will also not touch the ground. Slightly annoying, but close enough. đ Decorative & Functional Objects
I have also included several decorative and functional items. Most of these are meshes that were created by Basimcly/lemmylou and the one by LillieBou, with modifications.
- All of the items were recategorized to show up on both community and residential lots and to not show up in Sporting Goods if deco,
-some items I removed or modified the dropshadows (for more of a maxis match game),
- I replaced any English text with Simlish versions,
- I included matching recolors for the tennis balls in the various states they come in (single, package, package opened, catchable),
- modified footprints and intersection for various items,
- changed the transparency of the tennis ball packs,
- and modified the recolor-ability of LillieBou's deco racket.
- Added an original tennis court rules sign, a recolor of EA's pool rules. đ Search: To make it easier to find the objects in build/buy mode, a collection file is provided. You can also search for riverianepondsims, lemmylou, lilliebou, or tennis to locate the items conveniently using a catalog search mod. Credits/Thank You: This set would not have been possible without Basimcly/lemmylou @basimcly and LillieBou. Thank you for allowing me to use your meshes for this set!đ I can't tell you how many times I started my game up for this, but it's a lot... âšDownload Catalogâš Here is a download sheet/catalog with all of the preview images, price, location, type, name, original creator, and download links! There is also an installation guide provided at the end. This is the easiest way for me to provide the download links, given that there are so many colors and individual downloads. I hope you all like this format. I will likely use this in the future when uploading item sets! I have some more things that will be coming, eventually. Posting is what takes me the longest because if I were a sim, I'd have the Perfectionist trait. - I ask that you do not re-upload, re-upload behind any paywall (early access, timer, ads, subscription, etc), or include my items in shared mod/CC folders. - You can find all of my previous uploads conveniently by clicking âNavigationâ on my blog and going to âDownloadsâ or visiting riverianepondsims downloads My downloads will always be free, but if you would like to say thank you: Ko-fi â đŸ Download Catalog: Game, Sim, Match - riverianepondsims đŸđđđ âïž
Just a list of the most MM creators Iâm aware of. This list is not utterly comprehensive, and Iâm happy to add to it if Iâve left someone out. This is long, so.. under the cut.

Cache files within The Sims 3 folder are temporary files created by the game. They help the game load faster. Over the time, a pile-up of these files can create slower game-starting times, to even lag. In this post, we will go through each folder and show you which files are safe to remove. If you want to learn what your The Sims 3 folder contains, please refer to our guide [here].
As an advice to lessen the lag and prevent corruption, we recommend clearing these files after each gameplay. They're regenerated every time the Launcher is running, so deleting them is safe, and them reappearing is also normal.
DCBackup - This folder contains the much necessary CCMerged file. After installing new content to your game, you'll often find files with long names full of numbers within that folder. It is safe to remove all of those files except CCMerged file.
DCCache - This folder contains all of your custom content divided into several .dbc files. You should only clear missingdeps.idx file, and any file ending in .tmp.
Downloads - Downloads will contain all Sims3Packs you installed. We advise copying these packs in another folder or an external device, should you want to re-install them again later. After that, it is fully safe to remove all files in it. Files named nav.bin and FSIViewCountTracking will regenerate the next time game is opened.
FeaturedItems - This is a folder generating photos and thumbnails of store content. It is fine to delete the entire folder, and files within it.
RecordedVideos + Screenshots - Both folders contain media captured by the player. Personal advice is copying the files from both of the folders into another folder or external drive. And then removing the contents from these folders.
WorldCache - FOR WINDOWS USERS ONLY - It is safe to remove this entire folder. Mac users SHOULD NOT be touching this file. Explanation why.
After folders, it is safe to delete the following files:
CasPartCache.package - CAS parts that appear in Create-A-Sim.
compositorCache.package - New objects that appear in Buy/Build mode.
scriptCache.package - Mods or Hacks.
simCompositorCache.package -New Sims, default skins.
socialCache.package.package - Information about the social aspects.
+ scriptError(your username) - Files generated by NRAAS mods (ErrorTrap) during errors. Delete if you don't wish to post it to NRAAS Industries.

For everyoneâs information... Google translate is a free app. BoringBones wrote a whole blog explaining the process of his âGet Outâ Project. Do not immediately be put off seeing a blog post in a language different to yours. English is not everybodyâs default. SEEK for understanding before lambasting anybody that you could have approached privately in a chat. At the very least. Damn.
I FIRST found out about Arsilâs mod FROM BoringBones, who ALSO points out Arsil is a skilled modder, but explained the features of the âLeavingHomeâ package that made it different. There was no attempt at trying to pass this particular module off as their own. What recognition is Arsil not getting?
Everything you need to know about the GET OUT Project now available!! Come check it out and Download it to make your Sims even more responsive, smart and independent in THE SIMS 3!!
I am a habitual list maker, and I like to keep lists of different types of Sims 3 resources. I figured I would share!
So, hereâs a list of resources, tutorials, and mods/cc that I have found to be very useful for the purposes of creating sims stories, improving my screenshots, etc.
Some great insights from various simmers for lighting, photoshoots, and visual storytelling in general:

Some specific mods and cc that I think are particularly helpful for staging scenes:
Pose Player by cmomoney (I think this goes without saying, but Iâm including it just to be thorough).
Lyraleiâs Pose Addon (must have!).
Omedapixelâs Sims 3 Decorator Tool (must have!).
OMSP by Granthes
Muranoâs Screenshot Backdrop
Buhudainâs invisible lights
SetHour Cheat mod by LazyDuchess (nice for just quickly setting the hour).
Time/Weather Change Mod by cmomoney (helpful if you need specific weather for your photoshoot; for example, changing the weather to overcast for outdoor photoshoots helps with diffused lighting).
NRaas Master Controller â probably a given, as I think everyone should already have this installed. In terms of storytelling, itâs crucial for easily moving around and editing sims when youâre setting up a scene.
NRaas Debug Enabler â useful for all sorts of storytelling/screenshot things: open and close a door, spawn/create an object, summon a meteor, trigger all sorts of events you might wish to use as part of your scene, etc.
Eca Move Objects Cheat with Hotkey â nice for quickly turning MOO on and off since youâll be using it a lot when moving around sims.
NRaas Dresser â Nice to quickly/easily remove accessories or copy accessories to all outfits etc. (Can come in handy when youâre using poses that might involve accessories like mugs, books, pens, pregnancy tests, or whatever.)
PosterLoader by douglasveiga â Nice for setting your scene with customized family portraits and such in the background. You can also use Transmogrifier to copy the poster loader frame script to the in-game digital picture frames for a wider selection of sizes (can be a bit finicky, but S3DT can help with placement).
NRaas Story Progression â obviously useful for a million different things (I canât imagine playing without this mod), but for photoshoots in particular itâs easy to make your simsâ needs all static.
Modified Shimrod's Camera mod by @brntwaffles (can zoom out much further, among other features)
No More Fade camera mod by Collin2 (objects won't disappear when you zoom in)
Decensor and Passion mod of course. đ
NRaas Mover - sometimes you might need more than 8 sims in your household for a scene or you don't want to deal with "needs adult" restrictions.
All gameplay/immersion and graphic-improvement/default replacement mods will be helpful, but that's a post for another day. :)
Some of these were made for Sims 4 but obviously can be used for Sims 3 as well:

Another tool that probably goes without saying, but Iâm including it in case anyoneâs new to using it. A couple places to start:

Sims 3 reshade help - @erasabledinosaur
I don't know jackshit about g-shade so can't really say anything about it, but it seems to be another good option.
I guess thatâs it for now! Like I said, I enjoy making lists, and I also wanted to show my appreciation for those who have so generously shared their knowledge and creations over the years.
By the way, if youâve made some sort of post or tutorial related to this stuff in the past and you donât see it on the list, itâs probably only because I didnât know about it. đ đ€
Let me know if there's anything I should add!

Time for another backup! I use a lot of her retextures for previews and in gameplay, so when I noticed that most of her links donât work anymore, I decided to make a backup for what I could find. See under the cut for missing content.
As usual, you can view the content in thumbnail or list mode, and download the entire folder(s) as .zip archives.

This is a tutorial how to fix hairstyles that have this glitch!
You might have seen my default replacement that battles this problem, but of course it doesn't actually fix the problem - it's just symptom relief. Well, I have good news, after some investigations I finally figured out what actually causes the pigtail glitch and how to fix it.
Please read further under the cut.
You might have noticed some EA hairstyles have a different naked hair set to them. For example, if your sim is wearing the base game beanie they would shower in a different hair. It doesn't work correctly, though, as sims would also age up in their 'naked' hairstyle.
This is the problem that causes the pigtail glitch. A lot of cc hairs are made in TSRW with the pigtail hair as a base (or another cc hair as a base that was cloned from the pigtails) and apparently TSRW doesn't unset the 'naked hair', so it still references the pigtails in the CASP. S3OC is a bit better with this, but also not 100% reliable. When the naked hair is the same for the normal hairstyle, it goes well. When it's a different hair though, it also doesn't unlink it and your sim will age up with the hair referenced there.
I can imagine some of you out there don't have a clue what I'm saying right now, so I'm going to show you how:
So, I've download a hair that I know for sure had the pigtail problem, because I noticed it had the pigtails in the lower lods when making a default out of it.
Open the package file in s3pe, locate the CASP, select it and click on grid.
CasPart1Index = Naked hair CasPart2Index = Previous age state hair
Locate CasPart1Index, under clothing category, select it and click on the drop down arrow. You can now see which resource key it references.
When I open the afHairMidPigtails package....
Surprise, surprise, it's the same resource key! This is why so many hairs age up to the pigtails.
Now, to fix this:
Back to the package file of the hair you want to fix. Right click the CASP and select Copy ResourceKey.
Select the CASP, click on Grid. Locate CasPart1Index again, but this time select the little black arrow next to the drop down menu.
Click Add
Select CASP at type
Paste the ResourceKey you've copied
Click save.
Click on CasPart1Index again, select the drop down menu and choose the CASP you just added. It should be the last one in the list. Click commit. Save the package file and voila!
Now, it might also be good practice to immediately unset the previous age-state hair.
Locate CasPart2Index, click on the dropdown menu and choose the empty resourceKey, with all the zero's.
Unless of course you have a child version of this hair you want to link to it. Then do the same steps as above, but instead op copying the resource key of the CASP in the hair you want to link it to, copy the CASP of the child hair in the other package and add it to the hair you want to link it to in the same way as above.
This 100% fixes the hair if it has the pigtail disease! Yay!
