This is a tutorial how to fix hairstyles that have this glitch!
You might have seen my default replacement that battles this problem, but of course it doesn't actually fix the problem - it's just symptom relief. Well, I have good news, after some investigations I finally figured out what actually causes the pigtail glitch and how to fix it.
Please read further under the cut.
You might have noticed some EA hairstyles have a different naked hair set to them. For example, if your sim is wearing the base game beanie they would shower in a different hair. It doesn't work correctly, though, as sims would also age up in their 'naked' hairstyle.
This is the problem that causes the pigtail glitch. A lot of cc hairs are made in TSRW with the pigtail hair as a base (or another cc hair as a base that was cloned from the pigtails) and apparently TSRW doesn't unset the 'naked hair', so it still references the pigtails in the CASP. S3OC is a bit better with this, but also not 100% reliable. When the naked hair is the same for the normal hairstyle, it goes well. When it's a different hair though, it also doesn't unlink it and your sim will age up with the hair referenced there.
I can imagine some of you out there don't have a clue what I'm saying right now, so I'm going to show you how:
So, I've download a hair that I know for sure had the pigtail problem, because I noticed it had the pigtails in the lower lods when making a default out of it.
Open the package file in s3pe, locate the CASP, select it and click on grid.
CasPart1Index = Naked hair CasPart2Index = Previous age state hair
Locate CasPart1Index, under clothing category, select it and click on the drop down arrow. You can now see which resource key it references.
When I open the afHairMidPigtails package....
Surprise, surprise, it's the same resource key! This is why so many hairs age up to the pigtails.
Now, to fix this:
Back to the package file of the hair you want to fix. Right click the CASP and select Copy ResourceKey.
Select the CASP, click on Grid. Locate CasPart1Index again, but this time select the little black arrow next to the drop down menu.
Click Add
Select CASP at type
Paste the ResourceKey you've copied
Click save.
Click on CasPart1Index again, select the drop down menu and choose the CASP you just added. It should be the last one in the list. Click commit. Save the package file and voila!
Now, it might also be good practice to immediately unset the previous age-state hair.
Locate CasPart2Index, click on the dropdown menu and choose the empty resourceKey, with all the zero's.
Unless of course you have a child version of this hair you want to link to it. Then do the same steps as above, but instead op copying the resource key of the CASP in the hair you want to link it to, copy the CASP of the child hair in the other package and add it to the hair you want to link it to in the same way as above.
This 100% fixes the hair if it has the pigtail disease! Yay!

Sims 3 Standalone Tub & Sauna | Mod the Sims
I gave a hand to the Great Arsil to separate the meshes of the tub and the sauna, and he did all the hard job of coding. Read more and download @ MTS!
(expect I mesh something new on this soon or later! ;))
To go along with the banking feature in my Social Clubs mod, here's a small update to the printer mod.
The financial extras package now requires my Clubs mod to be installed rather than Ani's Tax Collector mod (though the tax collector version is still available to download for those who prefer that version).
So, when printing financial statements, you'll have the option to choose from all household Bronzo accounts. When paying tax via. the tax slip, you'll be able to choose from all relevant in-world Bronzo accounts to pay the tax into.
The documentation has also been updated to reflect these changes.
Enjoy!
Download: here.
ps: my generic register mod has also been updated to work alongside Bronzo banks.
pps: the social clubs mod has been updated with a couple extra club activities.
After making a bunch of medieval defaults, I'm finally back into modern gameplay! This is a set of defaults for the flowers sims can give each other as a romantic interaction, or buy from the grocery store.
I've let the game generate new thumbnails and included them in the package. I might have missed some, so if you see any that don't match the new meshes, let me know!
These require GENERATIONS (though i can make deco versions if anyone wants them!)
Enjoy :)

what i haven't seen the sims community here talk about yet is the current state of ea. it's not good, to put it plainly. ea's biggest cash cow ea sports has severely underperformed. veilguard was a critical failure. ea's stock is iirc at a 5 year low, and it fell overnight after their latest report. the value of ea plunged something like 6 billion dollars. it's insane. as we're speaking we're getting news from studios like bioware being gutted with huge layoffs (trick weekes has been laid off btw).
i do think it's important to consider the yet to be confirmed ts1 and ts2 re-release in this context. i think it's ea's hail mary that they can put out with relatively little effort because well, the games are already made. i don't think ea will meaningfully improve compatibility with newer systems and that it will probably be on par with what you get with osab's installers (which for ts2 easily installs the whole collection for you, together with graphics rules maker which you need to get more resolutions, recognize your graphics card, etc., and lazyduchess' launcher which has many small improvements of its own, including 4gb ram patch).
i'm not going to try to tell you that playing these old games is an easy plug and play solution. it isn't. no old game is as the march of time and technological progress often times leaves old games unplayable without community effort. the ts2 community has been wonderful at keeping the game alive. the current biggest hurdles to accessibility such as pink flashing may not be fixed in this re-release. i just hope that people consider that this is a desperate cash grab of a company that will probably soon be going down the path of ubisoft.
okay so here’s a very early version of my default replacement plants! i think i’ve ironed out all the problems, (hopefully)
first of all, this WILL conflict with any mod that alters the Plants.xml, including cinderellimouse’s Cooking Overhaul. these mods will technically work together, but you won’t get the custom tofu plant that comes with the cooking overhaul.
plants that are already in game may or may not change on startup, although all newly grown plants and autosoils will show the replaced meshes
now you’re welcome to just have fun with this till i release the final mod but if you’d be so kind, let me know if you have any issues with -
the harvestables, including when being used in cooking etc.
the plant textures for wilting, dead etc
any conflicts with other mods
any other problems
i’ve finished the replacements for the following plants, as well as made a replacement for the plot of dirt
garlic
tomato
onion
apple (v2 only atm)
lettuce
potato
watermelon
bell pepper
mandrake (REQUIRES SUPERNATURAL)
valerian (REQUIRES SUPERNATURAL)
wolfsbane (REQUIRES SUPERNATURAL)
pumpkin (REQUIRES SEASONS)
carrot (REQUIRES PETS)
ginseng (REQUIRES UNI)
basil (REQUIRES UNI)
blackberry (STORE ITEM)
strawberry (STORE ITEM)
installing the garden plot replacement is necessary for the plants to look right!!
i would reccomment only installing this if you have all the required expansions/store content. the final version will hopefully use a modified version of CCLoader so you can pick and choose what plants you want to install.
if you DON’T have all the expansions but you really want to try this, send me a message and i’ll modify the xml for you :)
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
the download link will take you to a folder with all the files. the files labelled with each plants’ name eg. “omedapixel_DefaultPlants_apple” contain the necessary meshes and textures for that plant. these files can go in your regular packages folder
“ccmerged” and “plantXML” must go in your overrides folder. ccmerged is the file that makes all store premium content work, and if you have your store content installed as packages you probably already have a ccmerged. you can safely replace it with this one. if you have your store content installed as s3packs then i’m not sure if this will work, but give it a go!
please tag me in pics if you post any! :)
I always wanted to do something like this at least once but I never had the occasion until I realised not so long ago, that my clutter folder for decorating closet was not so small. I searched for more decoration clutters and then did this. I hope it will be useful one way or another. Also this is part 01 so this mean that there is more to come indeed. Next probably will be the shoes. And no custom patterns where used because I didn’t want to make the list longer… So all patterns are from EA.

Secret Build Techniques
Two uncommonly-known build exploits for your use- to get an extra floor, and to create a one-level open-air basement! Read more under the cut.
Sixth Floor
This allows you to create an extra sixth floor. Mainly useful for decorative use!
Build up to the five-floor limit.
Create a mansard roof large enough to show a floor tile.
Delete roof
Using ‘placefriezes on’, you can now place a frieze where you couldn’t before.
You can then use CFE to shape the floor to your liking.
Of note: It’s best to keep the extra floor decorative or lightly-built, as there are restrictions. You can’t build walls, roofs, nor stairs, but ladders (place beforehand), fences, and elevators work. Use ‘moveobjects on’ to place objects, doors, and windows. You can use the sledgehammer to delete the extra floor.
Open-air Basements
This allows you to create a one-level open-air basement, as teased by Sims Uni’s gym.
Create basement on a completely flat piece of ground.
Create stair in basement where you want the opening to be.
Create a foundation at the end of the staircase, one tile away.
Copy the stair and place a new stair leading from the foundation to the top of the stair to the basement.
Delete the stair to the basement.
Delete basement stair.
You can repeat this as many times as you want to create large open areas! Beyond that, it functions as a normal basement.
Of note: To delete the open-air areas, place basement stairs where you don’t want the effect, and then delete those stairs. You can then delete the basement. It’s best to keep the open-air area lightly decorated, as I believe that objects beyond doors and windows will not show above-ground even if you have object hiding disabled. The game will also only render the first basement level below ground.
Hope this helps!
