So, pride month is coming to an end (just the time though, we'll always continue to respect the lgbt community )
And I thought it was time for a few confessions. Ok just to be clear, I come from a country where most of the time its looked down on and until a few years ago I never had any idea about the lgbt community and if I had any it wasn't quite complimentary.
Then a few years ago I read House of Hades by Rick Riodan and that's when I first read about it. Not gonna lie but I was shocked and a little bit disappointed that Nico turned to be gay. But as things went I started realising that it wasn't fair to judge people for being something I couldn't exactly understand. Alec and Magnus in the shadowhunter chronicles books was the actual page turner for me, literally.
So , what I'm trying to say is that it was only because of a few amazing authors that i came to see the lgbt community as normal humans too.
It's only because of their writing that started seeing them as humans as same as us.
I might be straight and considered normal by some but I've understood that it is not my place to judge or look down on someone because they're different from what we consider as normal.
Honestly, I still don't understand the concept at times but that doesn't give me the right to disrespect you guys.
Pride to the lgbt community and the authors who open our minds to spread love and respect.
Rick Riodan, Cassandra Clare, Sarah J Maas, Leigh Bardugo, Jennifer L Armentrout if there's even a slightest chance you'll will read this, I just wanna say that what you're done to open the eyes of our generation is simply amazing.
