Stephen rifled through the sweaters and coats hanging in the hallway closet one last time. Where the hell had his Columbia sweatshirt gone? He could’ve sworn he’d hung it up yesterday. There was no way it just simply disappeared into thin air. Then again, knowing his life it probably had. He let out an irritated sigh before giving up and grabbing his green cardigan. He’d have to track down his sweatshirt later when he had the time. He was already running late as it was.

“Where are you going?” You called from the front room. Shit, he’d forgotten you were already awake. He felt awful considering he’d told you he would spend the whole day with you.

“Stark said he found something magical and possibly dangerous. I’ll be back in about an hour if all goes well,” He explained, tugging the sweater on over his head. You waved to him as he passed by the doorway, giving him a small smile.

“I’ll hold down the fort while you’re gone.”

He skidded to a halt before backtracking to the front room entryway. His brain struggled to form coherent thoughts when he saw you in his Columbia sweatshirt and a pair of his sweatpants. You’d been dating for the past two months but you’d never managed to steal any of his clothes up until now; and fuck was it doing things for him.

You flicked through the channels on the TV as you chewed on your bottom lip absentmindedly. Unaware of him standing there gawking at you. You glanced over towards him when you didn’t hear the front door open and found Stephen staring at you. His cheeks were dusted a light pink and his mind seemed to be elsewhere.

“May I help you?” You teased, pulling him back to the present. He shook his head as he made his way towards you. His eyes tracing over your body as if trying to memorize how you looked right now.

“No, I was just wondering where my hoodie went. But it seems you found it.”

“I hope you don’t mind that I stole it,” You chuckled. He placed his hands on the back of the couch before leaning down to kiss you.

“Not at all. It looks much better on you, anyways.”

“Mm, I’ll tell you a secret,” You said, twisting his ponytail around your fingers. He arched an eyebrow in question and you gave him a devilish smile. “I’m not wearing anything under it. So you better hurry back before I freeze to death.”

He let out a startled huff when you gave a sharp tug to his ponytail. You let him go, returning your attention to the show you’d been watching. You wanted to see what he’d do with that bit of information. Whether he’d stay here or go and try to keep his mind focused while he thought about you. You could hear him hesitating as his boots scuffled against the floor from him glancing in between you and the front door. You pursed your lips to hide your grin when he dipped his head down to kiss the side of your neck.

“I promise, I’ll warm you up when I get back,” He murmured, before disappearing down the hallway. You traced your fingertips over where his lips had just been. Knowing full well he wouldn’t last longer than twelve minutes before he came rushing back.
