YOU CREATE YOUR OWN RULES - THERE ARE NO RULES IN THE LAW

idc what this blog told you about needing a ‘perfect self concept’ to manifest nor do i care about that other blog telling you you have to stay still to get to the void, or the blog that told you it takes at least 1 day to manifest, or the blog saying affirming is the only way to manifest etc…

just because they think it is true for them (+is, but in their reality) doesn’t mean it has to be true for you.

YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN RULES

you wanna breakdance while entering the void? okay do it yay.

you think you can manifest in a second? okay go babe.

you don’t want to have a ‘perfect self concept’ to manifest? YESSS.

there is nothing impossible for the law!

so please stop asking blogs on how to manifest this and that, when you can just create your own rules. realize how much power you have! YOU ARE A FUCKING GOD BABY

(also im not saying these blogs are wrong, it’s obv true for them👍👍👍)

May Week 1 - Understanding Magical Symbols

Apologies for the lateness of this post! I’ve been working some overtime and dealing with a lot of personal and family issues. But I am working ahead on everything this week so the posts will be done and queued!

This week’s focus is on magical symbols of all kinds, their origins, meanings, how to use them and so on. Without further ado, let’s dive in!

Part 1 - Lab Notebook

So let’s make a list of the various types of symbols we already know about. Think about them. Runes? Sigils? What other magical symbols do you know of? The alchemical symbols? Put this list on a separate piece of paper inside your notebook. Expand it as necessary when you find more types of symbols to add.

On a page in your notebook, dedicate one to the symbols listed below.

alchemical symbols

runes

sigils

the ogham script

One each of those pages, write out what you already know about each of those, then expand on that and learn a little more about each one of them. For the sigils page, write out how you have learned to make them or, all the methods to making them, as there are various methods.

Dig deep with these, but also, give it your personal touch. I have created my own magical symbol that I place on things for various reasons, but mostly for protection.

Part 2 - Origins, Meanings, Adaptations

Look into the origins of the runes (example: the elder futhark runes), sigils, and alchemical symbols. Add this information to your pages. Along with that, look into the meanings of the various symbols and make a list of them if you choose, that you can look back on for reference or study and memorize. Continue further and look into various adaptations of these symbols through history. Let this be the bulk of this week’s study, learn as much as you can!

Part 3 - Use

What are the purpose and uses of these symbols through history and today? How have they changed or stayed the same? And why do you think that is? How can you incorporate any or all of these into your own practice?

Part 4 - Practical: Make Some Sigils/ Runes/ Symbols

Using the methods you have learned about, make some symbols of your own to use in your practice. Anything from a single symbol to a small set of them, or even an entire alphabet! Have fun with this. Incorporate color and other elements in the creation of your sigils to give it purpose and personal power! Feel free to share these if you like!

Part 5 - Meditate/ Journal

It is spring! The rain is falling, the sun is shining and the plants are growing. Let’s continue to meditate and journal on spring, the idea of rebirth, growth and abundance in our lives and in our practice. What does spring mean to you? What does it bring or take away from you? What can you learn from the natural world around you as spring embraces the world completely?

Okay! That wraps up week one! We will continue with more prompts next week and stay tuned this week for another bonus prompt!

━━━━━━━━━━━━━ [⁺🎙️✧] 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐑𝐘 :: 𝐃𝐎 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐓𝐑𝐘, 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄.

If you follow the ideology of ‘Creation is Finished’, you realize that there is nothing you can do but one thing. You cannot manifest, you cannot shift – because it has already been done for you. Manifesting shouldn’t be your goal because you’ve already manifested it. Shifting shouldn’t be your goal because you’ve already shifted. The wish fulfilled has already occurred.

Therefore, remove the try.   All you can do is experience, so make that your goal. Surrender and commit to your inner world by experiencing what the inner man experiences. THERE IS NO MANIFESTATION, only experience.

TLDR :: stop trying to manifest anything, just go into your imagination and experience it however you want. view it as your present, factual reality for the you inside is the REAL you.

If you desire a flight to some dream vacation; Aruba, Dubai, Bora Bora – wherever you like – go into your imagination and experience the state of that flight. What are you thinking, what are you doing and feeling? Live vicariously and fearlessly in the mental act. After that, the action is done. Leave everything alone and stay in the state by reminding yourself that you have indeed experienced this.

Writing Characters with Superpowers

Look! Up on the blog! It’s a novel! It’s a poem! No - it’s a new SOC Original!

Anyone who knows anything about my writing knows that the one thing I love to write, more than anything else in the whole world, is characters with superpowers. Why? I don’t know. It might be my childhood obsession with X-men: Evolution, or my subsequent obsessions with Static Shock, Batman: Beyond, the Justice League, or any other number of cartoon superhero shows. I started writing about superheroes when I was twelve years old, and I have never gone back.

Of course, writing about superheroes (and supervillains!) for over fourteen years teaches you a few things about how to write superpowers - and how not to. A few people have requested that I make a post about what to keep in mind when writing about superpowers, so here it is!

First of all, when you’re writing a character with superpowers, ignore anyone who says that if you give your character the same powers as another character you’re cheating, being uncreative, or whatever else. Listen, there’s nothing you can write that hasn’t been written, or at least there isn’t much. What counts isn’t the powers, it’s how your specific character chooses to use them! Just because you have a character who is super strong and who can fly doesn’t mean that you’re writing Superman - maybe your character isn’t quite as “Good” or as law-abiding as Superman, or maybe your character is afraid of their own strength and chooses not to use it at all, or maybe they just don’t have a lot of control. There’s a lot of wiggle room, so don’t be afraid to wiggle!

Second, when you give your character superpowers, give them limitations or drawbacks. These don’t have to be directly connected to their powers - they can be a part of your character’s personality instead. For example, I have a character who can unleash devastating amounts of telekinetic force, but she chooses to suppress her abilities instead of using them because she’s afraid that she’ll hurt someone - a fear that stems from her past, where she might have accidentally killed someone with her powers. Her fear of her own strength is a limitation on that strength and on her willingness to use it. You can also take this in the other direction and have a character who is so confident that they are helping that they end up doing more harm than good, or a character who so firmly believes that their powers are the answer to all of their problems that they completely miss the simpler solution. There are lots and lots of ways you can do this!

Another thing to think about, though, is powers-specific disadvantages. Yes, we all know the “Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex” trope/joke, but honestly, most superpowers have some kind of drawback associated with them, especially when they first manifest. If your character is a telepath who doesn’t have great control over their telepathy, they might hear things in other peoples’ heads that they wish they hadn’t, or they might get overwhelmed by the amount of mental “noise” around them. An empath could be overloaded by other peoples’ emotions, especially in a crowd, and a pyrokinetic always has to worry about starting accidental fires, of course. Figure out what kind of trouble your character’s powers cause for them. This can also be a list of “superpower cons” - reasons why your character might want to give up their powers.

That leads me to my next point - figure out how your character feels about their powers! Are they afraid of them? Are they awed? Do they think their powers are super cool, or are they angry that they can no longer lead a normal life? Do they think they need help learning how to deal with them?

In the same vein, figure out who your character can tell about their abilities - every hero needs someone they can trust enough to be their true selves with. It’s not good for people, psychologically, to have to wear a mask all the time, even if the mask is invisible. Your hero needs someone they can turn to in times of sorrow or doubt, whether that’s a friend or a sibling or a parent or a butler.

Your superpowered character needs to have a life outside of their superpowers, but their superpowers should affect that life, too. What I mean is that there are some things that can’t be separated from who we are as people, and superpowers fall into that category. Your psychic character won’t only have migraines when they’re wearing the mask. Your superstrong character doesn’t only have superstrength when they’re wearing tights. They still have lives and families and jobs and things that they have to do that don’t involve stopping (or starting) the latest crime wave, but their powers don’t go away. Show your readers the impact that has on them.

And, last of all, when you’re writing a superpowered character, think about what drives them. Think about what their morality is, and think about their motivation, and think about how that affects the choices they make with and without their powers. Don’t be afraid of the gray areas - sometimes that’s where the most interesting stories happen, in the struggle between what a character wants to do and what they know they have to do.

I hope this helps you out when you’re writing your superpowered characters. Good luck!

ੈ✩‧₊˚ Do things that make you feel good. If affirming 24/7 makes you feel good, do it. If visualising makes you feel good, do it. Do techniques that make you feel giddy and gives you the calming sensation that it’s done. Of course they’re not necessary but if they make you feel more at peace with your manifestations and you have fun doing them, do it. Never force yourself to do anything that makes you feel shit. Indulge yourself in anything that makes you remember that you already have your desires and their is no where to be but the state of the wish fulfilled ✧.* ੈ

MANIFESTATION IS FUN, EXCITING, THRILLING!

we lay in this world, with all of its majestic confusion, its breathtaking unpredictability, & its illogical but completely logical malleability, and know that we can get whatever the hell we want in this damned life just by a minor shift in our thoughts. the fact that we know about this is a blessing! manifestation is the best thing that could ever happen to you. everything you want is in the palm of your hand, ready to be yours. you should see manifestation as the most exciting thing that you can do in this life! it’s not a stressful, overwhelming process. it really isn’t. manifestation is the most fun thing ever! you change your thoughts, you get all excited because you know what’s coming to you, and than what you want comes to you. how are you not screaming of joy 24/7?

now, get to work guys. manifest your dreams. and start to get excited, cause they’re soon becoming true!!! ain’t that wonderful? <3 <3 <3

I manifested so much (especially when I was a kid) bc I was just "dumb".

Like something didn't go my way, I didn't feel bad, I was genuinely just confused.

Once when I was like 4 or 5, I went to this boardwalk with my mom and we spent all our money on shops so by the time we got to the carnival part, my mom hadn't realized and was like, "sorry honey, we only have enough for games, so no rides."

5 year old me didn't cry, or get angry.

5 year old me was confused. Like I actively remember being confused and thinking something like, "that can't possibly be!"

And so while my mom was talking to the ticket lady, I turned around and saw a bill stuck in the boardwalk cracks. So I picked it up and gave it to my mom and was like, "Is this enough?"

And turns out (I didn't know money at the time), it was a $50. And my mom asked me where it came from, and I just said I found it. And nobody was running after it or anything, so she was like, "...Yeah!"

And so long story short...I got what I wanted and it was extremely instant...and lots of stuff happened to me like that with me manifesting as a kid bc I didn't 'know any better'.
