“Don’t be the reason someone feels insecure. Be the reason someone feels seen, heard and supported.”
— Cleo Wade
do good, it will come back to you in unexpected ways.
here’s your sign to do something good for yourself right this instant. self care or self love, just do a little kind thing for you.
truths I’ve learned at 25
1) you are your own best friend. start treating yourself like it. at the end of the days it’s YOU who will fall asleep with yourself. YOU who will drive yourself to work and back. be kind to yourself. learn how to be alone with yourself.
2) you have to learn how to be authentic to yourself. by this I mean you have to learn what makes your butt wiggle and go after it. no motivation, no ambition is a disease. find something that lights you up inside and work for it.
3) if you’re a people pleaser, you will spend the rest of your life making others comfortable at your own expense. stop it. if you catch yourself trying to make others comfortable at your own comfort, KNOCK IT OFF!!!
4) not making a choice IS a choice. you’ll stay forever frozen where you are if you’re too scared to make any change. if you’re so scared to step on the wrong path it keeps you from stepping ANYWHERE, nothing changes if nothing changes. you quite literally cannot figure out what your destined for if you refuse to try anything.
5) if you struggle with discipline, don’t think of it as ‘discipline’. think of it as devotion to yourself. if you promise yourself something, STAND on it! be there for yourself by showing yourself integrity.
“Mean people don’t bother me a bit. Mean people who disguise themselves as nice people bother me a lot.”

Nothing I’ve read has changed me more than “you do people a favor by accepting their help” like I repeat this constantly to so many people because it’s true!!! People like to feel useful, they like to feel kind, they like to feel like they have an ability to impact people’s lives so just let them!! Not everything is a thing to be owed back — accept people’s kindness without making a competition out of it
merry christmas to the people who have to pretend to be someone they’re not for their families, who don’t have family to celebrate with, who have bad past experiences with the holiday, who are having a rough year and just want to reach the end of it, who couldn’t afford gifts this year and feel guilt over it. merry christmas to everyone but especially those of you who are feeling down.
The first lesson is my favorite. 🌱
You know how to love someone, but you don't know how to believe that someone loves you, and that is your tragedy.
