i've been thinking a lot about this recently so i figured i'd share: i once had a professor say "don't let perfect become the enemy of good" and i think that's a very hard thing to learn for a lot of us but it's also a very important thing to learn. it's very easy to get caught up in this idea that things need to be perfect (or even just one specific way) even if what we have is already good, and that mindset can be really toxic and harmful in a lot of ways. i guess what i'm trying to say here is it's okay to just do good work. hell, it's okay to do mediocre or even downright bad work. you don't have to be perfect all the time to make your work worthwhile.
you may not want to clean your room, but you like the peace and call it brings you after
you may not want to study, but you like the confidence and satisfaction you get from being prepared
you may not not want to apologise, but you like the relief and connection that reconciliation brings
you may not want to cook, but you like the satisfaction of eating a healthy come cooked meal prepared with love
you may not want to exercise, but you like how you feel afterwards and how it makes you confident
you may not want to journal or write, but you like the reflection and calm it brings you
you may not want to step out of your comfort zone, but you like the new experiences and growth you gain from it

The heaviness you feel of a life you choose by yourself makes me want to scream sometimes.
Like how did it get so pathetic
Why can’t I just run free through the woods and over deep green meadows. Why can’t I swim in silent mountain lakes. Why can’t I sit still and listen to the waves telling me their story’s or see the moonlight on my skin.
Why do I have to be part of this system in order to survive; and only live on the weekends or at two weeks per year when I’m on holiday.
Why.
Bad Day Friend.
