.
I always say "I'd love to" when asking something from someone, so I accidentally said to by boyfriend (at the time) "I'd love to break up with you". Worst moment of my life, and probably his as well.
I worked with toddlers and pre schoolers for three years. Sometimes I accidentally slip and tell a friend to say bye to an inanimate object (“say bye bus!”) & occasionally they unthinkingly just do it.
In the video game starbound you can play as an alien that was raised on earth. Learning about your specie's culture is as weird to you as learning about others (except humans)
Random idea: there are plenty of stories about human characters raised by nonhumans, who rediscover human society and decide whether they want to embrace their heritage or not. This goes back to Tarzan and probably much further. (Romulus & Remus?) But we don't see the reverse very often.
Sure we've got Spock and Worf, with their mixed upbringings, but they spend their lives in similarly mixed cultural spheres. That's very different from the Tarzan experience.
And sure, the point of these stories is usually to show how bizarre human civilization can be from an outsider perspective. Nothing wrong with that! Plus we as writers already know about human civilization. We don't need to do any worldbuilding there.
But I'd sure enjoy reading about a little dragon who was raised among housecats and human children discovering a dragon society where everything is fireproof and no one tells them to get off the table. The body language is alien and their endurance flying is garbage, but they can make a huge mess when they eat a rat, and they only get told to take a dust bath afterward!
A centaur discovering civilization where every room has enough space for people to turn around without knocking over a table. Pity there's no dogs here, though. They're gonna miss ol' Fluffers.
Goblins, harpies, elves, etc exploring the pros and cons of the cultures that should have raised them, if not for one particular turn of fate. Aliens too! This could be sci-fi as well as fantasy.
What the characters do about it is up to you.

אבל אני מוצאת את זה מצחיק שמוצרים בארץ לפעמים זה כזה;
Ddba is so. Fucking. Good. It has many problems but this episode was almost perfect. Literally the only thing that bothered me is that the roses are blue (roses can't be blue. You can dye them but not on the bush). Literally how is this episode so perfect. No spoilers but god. The parallels. THE PARELLELS.
List of parallels (no spoilers)

Bonus: BB | that police dude

I once wrote a super long comment like that AND THE AUTHOR MADE A SEQUEL??? FOR ME???? AND GIFTED IT TO MY ACCOUNT????
BTW i see these posts all the time like "ohhh i dont know what to comment on fics.." and every response is "keysmashes! or hearts!! anything works :3" and thats GREAT!! thats helpful!!
but: consider. if u genuinely like analyzing writing.. do u know ur just allowed to go through and quote your favorite parts and ramble abt what they mean to u and the author will LOSE IT WITH HYPE?
genuinely. i felt SO WEIRD the first time i did it.. but like. holy shit authors love it. its crack for authors. the first time i did it, it was on a fic that hadnt updated in half a year, give or take, and the author made 3 updates that month BECAUSE OF MY COMMENT.
LIKE. as an author every comment is INCREDIBLE!!! but also, dont feel like your comment has to be short or otherwise ur invasive or smth!! authors ADORE long comments more than ANYTHING.
i feel like some of you are unable to wrap your heads around matt being a flawed person beyond "uwu my flawed traumatized baby"
he lies, he's reckless, he wrongs and disrespects the people he cares about, he's a hypocrite of the highest order, he decides that sometimes he knows best and that he is right to bulldoze over the motivations of other people.
after outing ayala as the white tiger in court — which i do think is in-character, he's a great lawyer but he's known to take risks and allow his daredevil-ness to bleed into how he presents his clients — he tries to moralize to hector with borrowed lines from maggie. matt, with his current rejectionist viewpoint on vigilantism, thinks he has done hector a favor by making it impossible or hard for him to be white tiger. he makes false equivalencies and says things that he knows are bullshit because he's deluding himself.
despite all his altruism (which he is currently going on a year of suppressing), matt is a spectacularly self-centered person. it's an argument he and foggy had multiple times. but as the audience, we can see the extent of it in a way that foggy can't: matt filters the world around him through the ways he thinks about himself. vigilantism lost matt his best friend, therefore it is not only okay but right for him to take the white tiger from hector (it would protect his loved ones).
but we know that matt is still experiencing a great deal of cognitive dissonance. it's not really as simple as "vigilantism bad" for him, is it? so we get matt saying things he would not otherwise say, not only to justify himself to hector but also to convince himself.
