Catra found xemself laughing as xe watching Midna spin around. She looked quite elegant, and if xe were being honest with xemself (which xe rarely were), if it weren’t for xem being in love with Adora, xe’d probably have a thing for Midna. She was quite beautiful. And she was right. Catra and Midna did have a ring to it.
Catra tilted their head. They had no idea what a pannini was, but from context clues, they could guess it was some kind of food.
“Actually yeah, that would be great,” Catra said, their stomach growling at just that moment. “I don’t know if I’ve eaten today. I’ve been a bit preoccupied with the whole escape attempt and being miserable thing, so I forgot.”
Midna seemed overjoyed at the idea of having company. It was becoming quite clear how joyful and bouncy she truly was.
“I understand. I’ve been there once or twice myself. But now you have me to perk you up a bit! Now, let's see if I can find the way back to town proper.”
Her eyes scanned their surroundings, them being so well adjusted to the dark made it easier to search for her target. It only took a few seconds before she found what she was looking for.
Gently tugging on Catra’s sleeve, she pointed, “Footpath’s right over there. Should make our walk much easier!”
As Midna linked arms with Catra (not really knowing or caring if Catra was a link-arms-with type of person or not), she began to walk towards the little path. For a moment, she considered the person beside her. Xe was shorter than Midna, far shorter, but that wasn't a big surprise as she was an abnormally tall being for all who weren't Twili. Catra seemed an interesting friend to have— mysterious background, angst, and all. Xe was quite pretty too, but not exactly Midna’s type.
“Sooo,” Midna began, not liking to stew in silence. “Do you have a place in town yet, or are you still at the B&B?”

Harry was quite bored; they felt like they’d sketched everything in town and there wasn’t much that was new. They constantly walked around town hoping to find something new, something that could be their next art piece they could work on before they went crazy and too deep into their head.
This was their first time walking past the plant shop when a plant showing in the window caught their eye. It was beautiful – unique, something Harry definitely needed. They had a lot of ideas right when they saw it and they needed a closer look. Taking a step in the store they looked around.
“Hi um, I saw a plant in the window and I was wondering if I could get a closer look?”

The person who had walked in was unfamiliar. Then again, most people in this town fell into that category for Sam. That didn’t matter much to him; he loved getting to know people, and could make friends with anybody if he really set his mind to it. His demeanor was reflected in the vibrancy of the shop interior. Dozens of plant species were out on display across the various shelves.
“’Course you can!” he nodded, gesturing off to the right where a few more of the white flowering plants sat on a shelf. With a proud look on his face, he added, “There's a few more over there if you’re interested. Just put those out today. They’re a real favorite of mine.”

REMUS TURNED HIS PAD OVER AND OVER IN HIS HANDS. it was a reporter’s pad he’d taken from the newspaper, figuring that since he was an editor no one would mind if he took one. No one had, especially since they got used so rarely anymore. He understood the advances in technology (more than he let on to Shepard, merely because it was funny) but he would never not want to write things out by hand. ❝ Truthfully, I don’t know if some of these even exist here. They were rare in my world. But if you have any of these, preferably not cut so that I can continue to grow them. ❞
❝ RIGHT, THE MOST DIFFICULT ONE I SUPPOSE? wolfsbane or aconite, and yes i do know how poisonous it is which means you probably don’t carry it. I also need valerian, but specifically I need to be able to semi-frequently harvest valerian roots, so I’m unsure the best way to go about that. I’ll also need moonseed, bloodroot, st. johns-wort, mint, and sage. ❞
HE PROBABLY SOUNDED LIKE A CRAZY PERSON, even for himself. He was just glad that he didn’t recognize the man from home, otherwise he might be able to tell what Remus needed the ingredients for. Merlin, he still might be able to tell and Remus could be outing himself right here and now. Bu the needed the wolfsbane potion.

When the list was rattled off, Sam became much more intrigued than he had been moments before. He cared about everyone who came into his shop, but the people who came in with lists similar to this were always up to something. What those things were, he didn't know, and he certainly would never ask. The purposes of some transactions were obvious, but the purposes of most were unknown to him. This one was… well, he could hypothesize.
“You'd be surprised how many poisonous things I keep in stock. Safely hidden away, of course, but you don’t keep good business in a place like this if you aren’t willing to adapt to the needs of your customers, if you take my meaning. Now lets see, aconite… aconite…” he repeated the word, carding through the mental checklist of things he had on hand. “I think I did start a crop of that, but just recently. I could sell you some of the seedlings right now, but if you come back in a week they should be better suited for use.”
Despite the pieces clicking into place, Sam gave no hint of what he may suspect. He reached for the notebook which he had just set down, and flipped a few pages. He seemed satisfied with what he found there. “As for everything else, I should have it all in stock. Though, good as I am, I can’t magically replicate plant roots, but I could show you how to tend to your own plant so that it’ll last multiple harvests without dying if you wish.”

It would be a long process but as long as they had people supporting them, they knew that everything would be okay. The wounds had healed beautifully and it was comforting to know that. The time she had spent at the hospital had not been for nothing. Even though all they wanted to do was get back home and lay in the comfort of Link’s arms, they knew it was better to stay in the hospital for as long as they needed.
But thankfully it only took her a month and now she was finally able to live her life again. Go to work, spend time with friends and sleep next to their boyfriend. Ah right, they would have to try and call Merlin. They missed him so it was a no brainer.
“Oh Sam” placing a hand on her chest, she smiled. “You are so sweet. I do need to get better at standing up for long periods of time”
There wouldn’t be a day seen on Earth where Sam wouldn't support Zelda with whatever they may need. He had taken a liking to them from the day they met, and only wanted the best for them. Sam would cook her and Link three meals a day if it meant she would heal faster (that was quite unrealistic, and would likely be quite bothersome for everyone involved, but the thought was what mattered).
He was overjoyed she liked the gesture. He had been slightly nervous as he wasn’t sure if this was a social norm shared between their worlds or not. In coming to Sallow Hills he discovered many of his ways were “outdated”; he was glad to find this was not one of them.
“I just wanted to lend a hand, ‘n this is the only way I know how,” he replied, smiling back at her. “If you want, I can help you with making somethin’ for us. That way you can sit down if’n you need. How's that sound?”

THE WOMAN WAS DRESSED INTERESTINGLY, TO SAY THE LEAST. not that zsasz had any place to talk with his nearly all-leather get up. Hers was certainly more fitting for a Welsh countryside town than his own, but he’d never been one to mind standing out in a crowd. In fact, it usually was quite the opposite. Zsasz knew how to use shadows and darkness to his aid, but also when to draw the eye of everyone around him.
HE PUT THE BOX OF GOOD ON THE COUNTER, raising a brow bone at kai who seemed to look up at him in question. He sighed. He supposed he and Oswald were spoiling the dragon a bit too much. ❝ Don’t you have a register to guard? ❞ Kai let out a snort, but did turn and head over to the small, purple pillow beside the cash register. With that, Zsasz turned his attention back to the woman.
HE TOOK THE KNIFE, CAREFULLY MOVING IT TO NOT CUT EITHER OF THEM. ❝ yes well, i suppose the knives either moved in transport or my shop assistant was messing around in the back and hoped i wouldn’t notice. Either way, thank you. If you feel I need to prove myself proficient at weapons, I’m always happy to give a demonstration. ❞ He spun the knife in his hand, getting it into a more comfortable grip. Quickly, he took aim at the board he had across the store for just this and sent the knife flying. It landed in the bullseye with a thunk. He gave a flourish of a half bow. ❝ Now, is there anything I can assist you with? ❞

Yennefer couldn’t help but to watch the dragon retreat to its spot beside the register. It was a mistake in the end, as the sight once again took her mind elsewhere. She was quickly brought back to the moment when he spoke once again.
She wasn’t sure if it had been the intention, but she wasn't intimidated or startled. In fact, she was far from it. For the first time since she had arrived in Sallow Hills, she was hit with a startling amount of familiarity. The way he dressed, the dramatics, the set up and contents of the shop: they reminded her of home. She could’ve sworn something identical had happened with Lambert when she was visiting Kaer Morhen once, but she didn’t want to dwell on it. She had business to do.
“Impressive. Though, I was making a joke.” A smirk grew on her face as she met his eyes, and there was a quirk to her brow in sudden intrigue of the man before her. Yennefer nonchalantly crossed her arms in front of her as she looked between him and the blade now protruding from the wall. “I’m new here. I don’t have any... guarantee of personal protection, and I should like to remedy that. What would you recommend?”

THE DOCTOR & RIVER SONG THE HUSBANDS OF RIVER SONG
ofmvoonlight:
Geralt really did wish that he had a filter because hurting the people he loved the most wasn’t really the way to live. He didn’t like seeing the pain in their eyes after he had once again opened his mouth and said something harsh and even unforgiveable. He wondered why he was the way he was and why he had been so comfortable with the way he carried himself. No one should like being cold and harsh, no one should like pushing people away and no one should like being this lonely.
He wanted to protect her from harm and that also meant protecting her from himself and the way he was acting. Yes he was a rather selfish man from time to time when it came to Yennefer. He was selfish due to the need of keeping her in his life and the lengths he would go to make sure that she would always be there. But could he really do that when he had said the things he had said? When he had been acting in such a disgusting and vile way?
When she started to talk, he could feel his heart sink further and further down into the pit of his stomach because he knew that she was right. “I understand” he mumbled. Running a hand through his hair, Geralt looked at her and let out a shaky breath. “What I did.. I do not deserve a second, a third or a fourth chance. If you want this to end then I will respect your wishes and leave you alone"
It’s the least he could do after all the torment and emotional whiplash. Sometimes he even confused himself with the intense emotions he constantly went through. The up’s and the down’s, the love and the hate. It wasn’t easy to have a heart that was beating inside your chest and it wasn’t easy to feel that heart shatter into a tiny little pieces.
But he deserved it.
Exasperation. It was the only emotion that Yennefer could manage to feel when he spoke. Her brow furrowed in momentary confusion before realization settled over her. This bumbling idiot was so stupid, and it was a miracle that he had lived so long with a little brain like that rattling about his head.
She pinched the bridge of her nose in an attempt to collect herself before speaking again. What the hell was she going to do with him?
“Geralt.” Her voice was strained, trying not to bounce back out of control, “You deserve the award for stupidest witcher in creation. I’m not breaking things off, you oaf. I’m taking you back.”
Yennefer sighed, eyes narrowing at him, “So unless that isn’t what you want to do, can we just get on with things?”

for my love @ofmvoonlight
To say life had been hectic as of late would be an understatement. All of the previous spare time Yennefer had swiftly got taken up upon the appearance of Ciri— not that she was complaining about that. There was something about it that felt innately right, but it kept her much busier than she had been.
Though today, Ciri was at work, and Yennefer had the day all to herself. Her plan was simply to go out and see where the day took her, so after dressing in her ever-so-typical way, the mage made her way into town. It was cold out, but the sun was shining at the very least and her woolen coat kept her warm enough. The day was proving to be uneventful, nothing too out of the ordinary for this place.
Nothing, until she had left the library. Yenna had been distracted, frigid fingers already carding through one of the massive books she had checked out. Being caught up in the prose led her to ramming into someone much too hard, book slipping from her grasp. “Excuse me,” she sneered as she bent down to retrieve the book, speaking as if it hadn't been her fault to begin with. “Maybe you should watch where-- Geralt”
His name was reverie on her lips, as it always had been. The sight of him was overwhelming. Yennefer felt her heart might beat out of her chest any second.
“Geralt, witcher, what in Meletele’s name are you doing here?Oh I'm so delighted to see you.” Arms looped around his neck, a difficult task due to the difference in height between them, she was beaming. Yennefer was pulling him into a kiss, yet stopped an inch or two from his face. Something felt wrong. Something was out of place, and it wasn't on her end. “Are you alright, Geralt? You’re stiff as a board.”

ZSASZ DID UNDERSTAND THAT, VERY VERY WELL. ❝ i was trained to adapt in the moment to things going wrong. Things still are un-saveable at times, but I understand what you mean. You can’t plan for everything, and even if you do, the universe is chaotic and things will still go wrong. You just need to adjust and fix where you’re going. ❞
HE WATCHED HER CAREFULLY PICK OUT A BLADE AND BALANCE IT. yes, she did know exactly what she was doing. Which was good. The short swords didn’t get sold often, as they required a good bit of training. The people who did buy them, Zsasz suspected, just wanted to have a sword. But he liked having them in stock, if even just to have them here.
HE SQUINTED AT THE ONE SHE HELD IN HER HAND, going through the catalog in his head. ❝ That one is from one of the makers I contact in France. They specialize in swords, though I am only interested in the short ones. It’s a bit utilitarian, I know, but I’m sure you understand that they aren’t super popular here. ❞
Fingers roving the hilt of the blade, the mage looked to him, a little glimmer of intrigue still in her eye. “It's good.” She played with the grip of it for a moment before continuing, “It's good to know that somebody else around here has a decent head on their shoulders… or perhaps it's concerning. Either way, you’re one of a small few I’ve met here that could say they’ve got a brain and not come out of it looking idiotic.”
She hadn’t necessarily meant it as a compliment, more a statement of observation. Yennefer knew stupid. She had worked for her fair share of stupid for decades, and he simply wasn’t it.
“Well, I think this one suits me well. Hopefully, I shan’t need use of it, but you can never be too careful,” Yennefer set the blade down on the counter again.

HER EYES WERE RATHER PRETTY. in the sense that dean would probably end up drawing them, or drawing something inspired by them. It wasn’t every day that you met someone with purple eyes, though truth be told he was surprised it didn’t happen more often in the Wizarding World. Magic would make it so easy. ❝ I mean, you add on that the no-nose guy was also the worst kind of person and started two wars - yeah no ballads written about him. Stories to scare children and war songs, maybe. ❞
ART DID COME FROM FEAR AS MUCH BEAUTY, but the art that came from fear was so often kept locked away. Dean knew it too well, from personal experience. The nightmarish drawings in his sketchpad that he never flipped back to from the months on the run. From the months after getting back home.
❝ WANDS DON’T SEEM POPULAR IN THIS TOWN, ❞ dean said, taking his time to feel over each piece that was there. ❝ Which I get, but it’s kinda a shame. There’s a lot of beauty in wand work. I find beauty in all kinds of magic, though. Suppose that’s why I have this project. ❞
Yennefer shrugged, because in all honesty she knew very little about the composition of music. She had never paid it too much mind, though there were a few ballads written about her back home. Dean’s attention wasn't the first captured by her vibrant eyes and dark hair, and his wouldn’t be the last.
“Personally,” the woman said as she adjusted a few items on a nearby shelf, “I’ve never felt wands to be of much use for the form of magic I channel. They limit my capability. But, I have met a few who were aided by it. Many people, and I use that word loosely here, in this town, they don’t just use magic, but they are magic. A concept I, myself, find very interesting.”
She looked to him, then to the display he was combing through. She had never been fond of wand work, so it was intriguing to glimpse even a small part of the process. “It sounds a quite interesting concept to make a piece on. I applaud it-- or I would, if I was the applauding type.”
