I can appreciate a man who's normal but I LOVE a man who's comparatively normal. A man who seems like a mess in a vacuum but as soon as you compare them to their friend circle you're like "oh. Oh wow. You're their idea of sensible."

It's the "you never tell me anything, you're just so cold to me!" person and then when you do tell them something they either:

1. Use it in an argument.

2. Tell everyone behind your back

So, while this ABSOLUTELY not the kind of post I ussually make AT ALL I feel like I owe to my country and the people I love that live there to at least spread the knowledge, since part of my small following apperas to not be West european.

Presidential elections were held in Romania on 24 November 2024 .A second round was due to be held on 8 December 2024 as no candidate achieved an absolute majority in the first round. However, on 6 December 2024 the Constitutional Court annulled the election, alleging that a Russian influence operation had impacted the vote. This was the ninth presidential election held in post-revolution Romania (35 years after the fall of Ceausescu in 1989).

Now, when they cancelled the elections with the word on their tongue of Russia's involvement they they had no PROOF whatsoever of such things.

The result of the first round was a surprise to the corrupt government, with candidate Călin Georgescu achieving a relative majority of votes, while the center-right politician Elena Lasconi finished second and also advanced to the runoff vote. Initially viewed as a minor candidate with little chance of victory, Georgescu quickly gained significant support through campaigning on non-traditional media outlets such as TikTok, receiving particular popularity among those disaffected with current Romanian politics, including youth, farmers, rural voters, and members of the working class. He was considered the front-runner in the race, and polling conducted after the first round of voting found him to be the most popular figure in the country's politics.

Now, obviosly, it's totally ok to not agree with all of his ideas, but what this man wnats is democracy, something that was clearly stripped away as what the people had voted was not what the politicians wanted. Now, the whole point of democracy is that the people have the power, right? Wrong. Because since the 6th of December people have been protesting in every corner of the country. It is now the 10th of March. You do the math. Not only that but they eliminated the second round after the people were chanting for that. Instead they put a "replacement president" and when the man who the people voted, a man who preached for the democracy that we've been lacking off, tried to get back into the elections, they denied him. It is not the first time something like this occures. And needless to say, it is not only illegal since their proof is 0, but it also breaks right through the Constitution. Today is the day that people had enough, this man, who stood in the freezing cold in the middle of his protesting people while coming right out of a surgery, tries to get portrayed by PSD, CCR... as a "Man of Russia".

Now, why am I writing/ doing this. Because I know it probably doesn't matter to you if you don't live here, but I know what it looks like from the outside, I know what stereotypes go around abt us and how this just makes it worse. But I owe it to myself to try to spread this, because the world is full of misnformation and of lies abt what this man and isn't, but this is the truth. And you don't have to read this (although u did if you're here, hopefully) or like this, or u might think it's too political, but maybe someone will be interested enough. But I do feel like this has to go out of the limited ands of my own country and the language barriers that separate us. Because when you look at it from the inside is heart shattering and painful, and I feel like I need to know that at least I'm doing something other than just get ignored by cough *corrupt politicians* cough.

Then again, sorry if this is not your cup of tee, or just find it uncomfortable or you just don't like this type of political posts. I do have a separate accounts for different things but I will consider creating one just for this purpose to not disrupt the "thing" that this accunt has going on.

Also, can we talk about what a perfect mix Alec and Izzy came out to be? Like, black hair, blue eyes, got them looks from Maryse. Alec is like super introverted, which in my delulu head canon is a trait he got from Robert, together with the awkwardness and quietness (plus the poker face), which reminds Maryse of the young Robert she fell in love with (pulled that out of nowhere, don't question it).

And I just know Izzy's just a copy of young Maryse and you CANNOT convince me otherwise.

when Meliorn refuses to tell Alec where the Fair Folk are keeping the hostages, including Magnus, and it does not matter anyway because Meliorn is capable of lying, and Alec does not waver for a second; he simply says: "die, then, liar," and shoots an arrow through his chest. when Jace won't let anyone come along to Edom but Alec convinces him because "go without me, and you disrespect that this is my battle too."

and I think about Alec's image throughout the series as that of a protector, someone who supports at the sidelines but won't venture into the centre. he reserves that spot for Jace or Izzy, anyone else but himself. and he deserves credit for that in and of itself; it's an important place to be, one that is often overlooked: never quite in the spotlight, but always making sure to be looking directly at it.

but where Magnus is concernedー he absolutely steps the fuck up. Alec is unique in that he doesn't tolerate any bullshit, he doesn't prolong any conversations or fights; he won't listen to long self-serving monologues, won't deal with unnecessary theatrics, won't explain himself to stall time: he deals with things fast, cleanly, effectively. his arc is one of my favourites.
