Btw I've Found These Stretches From The WAK Blog Very Helpful When Knitting A Lot:

Plus make sure to take breaks regularly - and stop if anything starts to hurt!

especially with gift knitting I know it can be tempting to push through it for a deadline, but it's really not worth causing long term injury. (And anyone knit-worthy should be understanding of that, imho.) Stay well :)

“Particularly prone to serious procrastination problems are children who grew up with unusually high expectations placed on them…or else they exhibited exceptional talents early on, and thereafter “average” performances were met with concern and suspicion from parents and teachers.”

As a mom of 3, I appreciate this SO much! When I had my first, we both almost died. There was so much trauma to process on top of being a new mom, being in the ICU and having my son in the NICU. I wasn't given any guidance or resources. Thank you Karlie for speaking about this immensely important topic! I love you Mama Kar! 💜

on my independent contractor shit again

'You can't erase the fact that 'family values' has been slung around by homophobic people countless times in an effort to say that they don't support queer things without coming out and saying it'

agenda behind organizations that hide beneath the innocuous banner of "family values."

AMERICAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION (Head: Donald Wildmon)Promotes the "agenda" through court actions; also targets media/entertainment industry. Concerns include homosexuality, pornography, profanity, "anti-Christian bigotry," liberal media.  CONCERNED WOMEN OF AMERICA (Head: Beverly LaHaye)Anti-gay, anti-abortion, "pro-family" agenda via grassroots organizing and Congressional lobbying. Pressures elected officials via local groups ("prayer chains"). 600,000 members, 800 US chapters.  EAGLE FORUM (Head: Phyllis Schlafly)A women's organization powerful in national and Republican party politics thanks to Phyllis Schlafly, founder. Mother of a gay man, she opposes AIDS education, sex education, daycare, family leave, abortion rights, the ERA, and NEA funding. 80,000 members.  FAMILY RESEARCH COUNCIL (Head: Gary Bauer)Lobbies against G/L/B civil rights, reproductive freedom, government- funded health care, child care and equal protection laws for women in the workplace. Says lifting the military ban on gays will dramatically increase AIDS incidences.  FOCUS ON THE FAMILY (Head: James Dobson)Employs almost 1,000. 1,550 radio stations worldwide. A leader in the passage of Colorado's Amendment 2 to disallow equal rights for G/L/B. Conducts seminars nationally to involve fundamentalists in political process.  etc, etc. Word Choice is Important.

It's possible he like them as a family and how fame and money hadn't changed them? Plus it was only one guy in the family that said that, none of the others said they agree with it. It's a huge conclusion to jump to and assume liam is homophobic

listen to what i’m saying. i love liam with every fiber of my being. i have faith in his humanity and the fact that he’s not some steaming pile of shit that thinks like this. i can agree with you on that.

but the reality of the situation - the undeniably heart breaking thing about this all - is his words have meanings. his words have connotations and are laced with meaning so far outside of the picture that you’re painting. you can’t erase the fact that family values has been slung around by homophobic people countless times in an effort to say that they don’t support queer things without actually coming out and saying it. you can’t erase the meanings that those two words hold and all the connotations that come with it. i wish you could. my god i wish you could. i wish i could read that tweet and says “yeah, liam totally means he only things it’s nifty that the duck dynasty family sticks together in times on need. he doesn’t necessarily agree with what they’re saying about homosexuality.”

but even then you have to consider what it means to say you support a family for sticking together for facing scrutiny over one of their family members saying homophobic (and racist apparently i only know about the things he said about homosexuality) shit. you have to think about how showing your support for this family for sticking together means you’re saying it’s okay to not call your family members out on their bigotry. it’s okay to not get punished and stripped of your television show for spouting of oppressive ideology. liam showing his support for this family is bad either way you spin it. and he doesn’t look good.

Lex Luthor is one of those roles where there's so much to it. So many interpretations, all of which add something to the character. A mad scientist, a rich capitalist, a child born to poor parents, destined to be lonely and ostracized in the slums; an heir to a corporate fortune with an abusive father. Sometimes he knew clark kent in his youth. Sometimes he didn't. But there's always an element to this character of fundamental goodness. Lex Luthor could've been a superhero. But Superman reminds me of everything he isn't. Superman makes him feel like a failure. Superman is similar to Lex in soso many ways. I'd say they both grew up feeling ostracized from their peers. Lex because of his intellect and Clark because of his powers. But one had a supportive family, and one didn't. It's nature vs nurture, I suppose. Lex Luthor could've been a hero. Clark could've theoretically been the villain if he was raised in a worse environment. The parallels work because neither one of them can be completely hated. At least not by me. I like both of them a lot.

I don't think Batman and Joker can compare. Because occasionally those two get a good setting to showcase their similarities, but they don't always. And they also aren't consistently as entertaining as each other. But with clark and lex, it's kind of hard to say I like one more. They're both very compelling. And I really just like both of them.
