Astronomers Have a Plan to Slow Down a Spacecraft When it Gets to Alpha Centauri
How do you stop a probe traveling at relativistic speeds? The Max Planck Society is on the case.

Could it be that the way to slow down before arriving at a destination Solar_System is to use Solar_Sails to Reflect Light coming from The Destination Solar_System for a Longtime before entering into The Destination Solar_System?

A Sketch Of The Star System Where My Story Takes Place.

A sketch of the star system where my story takes place.

I tried to keep it as realistic as possible.

Is did however take some artistic librities to make the story blend better with the world.

Story:

'Proxima Centauri d' has not been colonised.

'Proxima Centauri b' has been colonised and renamed to 'Beacon'. It has a slightly higher gravity than earth and is gravitionaly locked by one side to the star. Regulary blasted by radiation. This was humanitys first interstellar colony. And their eventual refugue after the Exodus.

The astroid belt contains dozens of stations for construction, Ming, transport and more.

'Proxima Centauri c' is a mini Neptune with a ring. Because of it's large size, it's useful for antimatter production. In orbit around it is a spaceport for interstellar travel.

inconsistencies:

Since we can't detect things so small as astroid that means that we don't know it there is a astroid belt in the Proxima Centauri system. But i decided to add one anyway.

It is disputed if the planet 'proxima Centauri c' even exist and where it is. It is also theorized to have a ring. I decided to add it too.

Please notify me if you've Found any other inconsistentcies.

Webb Telescope's Trailblazing Quest to Decode Alpha Centauri Star System

Webb Telescope's Trailblazing Quest To Decode Alpha Centauri Star System

Alpha Centauri A Stellar Marvel:

Alpha Centauri stands as one of the most intriguing systems in our galactic neighborhood. Comprising three stars—Alpha Centauri A, Alpha Centauri B, and Proxima Centauri—it offers a unique opportunity to study different stages of stellar evolution and the dynamics of multiple-star systems.

Enhanced Resolution and Sensitivity:

The Webb telescope's advanced instruments provide unparalleled resolution and sensitivity, enabling scientists to capture detailed images and spectra of celestial objects. By focusing its gaze on Alpha Centauri, Webb will offer an unprecedented view of this intricate star system, revealing intricate details and shedding light on various astrophysical phenomena.

Life orbiting our closest star?

A planet has been found orbiting in the habitable zone of the closest star to earth, 4.2 light years away, named Proxima Centauri. The exoplanet, known as proxima b, has the mass of 1.27 earths but because of the shape of its orbit, the chances of it harbouring liquid water are fantastic. This vastly improves the chances that the planet sustains alien life.
