Stop this will make me cry
there is something about hubi hurkacz that makes me emotional whenever i think about it. as a child, he suffered from a condition that made his walking (walking, not even running!) painful, and caused his foot to turn inside. he comes from a poor family, because let’s face it no middle class family from Poland can be seen differently judging by the uk or French standards. and Poland has almost non-existent tennis traditions in comparison to the uk, the us or france. he wasn’t a wunderkind or a successful player in his early 20s and barely had any money to be on tour. and maybe he will never win a grand slam or become a legend farewelled on the centre court as Murray, but he achieved something unthinkable still. his hard work and coiled persistence made him one of the best in the game. nothing but respect, wishing him a speedy recovery
