Curate, connect, and discover
Soundwaves face? Starscream!? The overall interaction and expressions playing like a little film clip? Seeing it is driving me nuts (in a good way) because of how expressive they look and the shape of Starscream's pupils. He looks so—not torn necessarily by his conflicting emotions or whatever may have been running through his mind at this moment, but it could also be some inexcusable form of direct anger, rage, or something that demands a full case worth of effort (in his mind) has to be done by him because Soundwave won’t give up whatever information or bout of mental clarity was asked of him right now. He may already have his own suspicions, maybe already on what Soundwave's answer is, but it has to come from Soundwave to matter/be real enough to deal with the aftermath of all of this (like the answer will change anytime but what it really is).
The problem is: he's dealing with an insane little bat from hell who's also an insane little cryptic. He's not meant for this place or this type of interrogation/conversation, Starscream! Let him be insane sometimes!?Though goodness knows Starscream could always just be lost in the moment as to whatever caused such a ruthless action/response to Soundwave and finally came back to his senses when Soundwave finally looked him in the optics and said something. His little, "Oh no, what have I done!" moment of clarity makes me laugh almost; therein lies that little bit of realization and guilt, or not guilt; only Primus knows that he will justify it all in his spark and (maybe) try to make it up to Soundwave by telling him, "If you weren't so, I wouldn't have had to!! Not my fault!! 😭" He just deflects all blame while patching up the annoyed bat. At least give the cute hellbat a treat, Starscream, something to nibble on while his frame handles all the static charge, thinking about whatever his brain can conjure up now; it's hard to connect to another Cybertronian after experiencing immense horrors, okay!
✿ When I look at you, sometimes I question my own sanity. For you, I am the worst version of myself. For you, I am the best version of myself. Maybe as time passes, I will finally understand why re-visiting the tortured demise of our relationship was a disguised but held hope for more. ✿
Primus forbid a mech be a little bit insane from their own ability and the horrors of being in a horrible institute 😒 can’t do anything in Cybertron these days. This isn’t necessarily part of my continuity’s story cuz it doesnt really have one yet so just imagine whatever story you want for this tbh. Maybe you’d get some ideas
AAAAAAAAAAAA I don't mean to hijack this but just Iove love the idea of TF one StarWaveWave and talking about them is my guilty pleasure. This interpretation of them is one of my favorite potential interpretations of their dynamic simply because it has so much opportunity and depth of flavor behind it where other universes may not as much. You have someone like Starscream who is often cocky and over confident and then two other guys next to him who in their own right have grown used to understanding his temperament and overall ideals. Yeah, he's annoying and mouthy, but they have to have already respected him to a certain degree after knowing and working beside him for so long/be willing to stand by his side after everything let along with his diva aft on a throne.
They've probably saved each other's afts too multiple times. It's a bond, that can't be necessarily broken from how it's shown in the film, Starscream has leader qualities, Shockwave is irrational but he listens when told, and Soundwave is ideally the most capable in terms of his temper, communication skills, and ability to work with others. He probably is the only one keeping anything working or in line at all when they left Cybertron with 0 clue what to do or how to manage shit. But it's probably hc to me that he let's Starscream run the show because he has the voice, aura, and general drive to be the one in the front, Soundwave is content standing behind him and so is Shockwave too. They remind me of those old married couples who can read each other without hesitation and just get it, even if they have those moments of "Why are you YELLING at me!😭" They know each other like the back of their servos, it's a given by now. AUUUUUUUUGH, I LOVE them
As much as I love DPax and Oplita,Low-key can we talk about these three though? Because tf One gave a lot of potential for StarWaveWave.
It's just simply how they are always together,in every single scene they are present throughout the movie, they are always together the only time they were separated was when Starscream got captured and even then Soundwave and Shockwave were always together, when they finished the rescue attempt alongside Orion and Elita the three of them immediately reunited/regrouped and continued to fight alongside eachother.
Literally don't separate them.
Even in the storyboards when they helped D-16 restrain Sentinel, and when they fought Optimus, and the subtle hints of camaderie that's what interesting about them as a ship/ot3. Shockwave also tried to interfere during Dee and Starscream's fight but Soundwave stopped him as much I believe he did that because he found it funny and enjoyed a brawl like any other Guard, I think it's also so because Soundwave kind of gets where this is going, Starscream at the time was not really trying to kill D-16 so he was holding back, trying to boast infront of an audience to give off a show of strength for their enjoyment,Soundwave has likely seen him do this a million times when he gets battle hungry before so he doesn't see the need to interfere if they get a good fight, that is before Dee took out the cannon.
One thing that I like about this continuity is it's Megatron who is the newer one to already pre established dynamics within the High Guard, which adds interesting potential for storylines, he's the one who needs to integrate himself and form a completely new dynamic around his new army.
The way I see StarWaveWave is mostly the Waves low-key getting annoyed with Starscream's antics, which is kind of the case in canon they definitely would bicker a lot because that is a given, but at the same time there is that camaderie as they've been working alongside eachother for hundreds if not thousands of cycles long before Sentinel's betrayal and even longer before they even met the quartet and became Decepticons ,so there is also like some care underneath all of it even if they wonder why they are tolerating eachother at times, Soundwave appears to be the most reasonable out of the three of them and Shockwave has a temper and gets irritated quickly and Starscream is Starscream enough said, there is room for some fun interactions.
Just a short post about why I love this ot3.
