Me when I canāt get Jegulus/NobelFlower/PandaLily/MaryLily/Remadora off my fucking feed:
Padfoot curled around Remus while he reads, head in his lap, keeping him nice and toasty, and snarling at the kids who tried to call him āLoony Lupinā or anything else. Padfoot lying across Jamesā legs, on his back, while he does homework, barking to startle people for fun when they walk by. Padfoot sitting on Effieās feet, warming them up while she knits, napping, listening to music on the record player. Padfoot balled up next to Monty on the couch, listening to him read the papers aloud and then work on his crosswords. Padfoot lying in bed next to Peter, demanding scratches while he works on homework, nuzzling him lightly whenever he seems stressed. Just⦠Padfoot being an overprotective, massive dog that likes to take care of his humans and be a cutie (heās the size of a black bear, most people actually think heās terrifying).
What if trophy-husband, stay-at-home-dad, wife-guy James and famous-chemist, working-mom, breadwinner Lily?
Sirius literally towers over everyone. Heās like 6ā5 and super broad. Heās not touchy, but his favourite form of physical contact is putting his chin on peopleās heads (only his closest friends). Remus (5ā10) likes cuddling up as close as possible to gather heat, like a little warmth-sponge, and will worm himself so far into Siriusā personal space that he ends up inside of his jumper with him. James, being the second tallest Marauder (6ā0), doesnāt fit unless he hunches over, but he enjoys it the most out of the whole friend group, partially because James is also pretty broad and Sirius is the only one who can make him feel dainty. Peter (5ā3) likes it, but feels really short whenever Sirius does it, which is annoying. Lily (5'5) thought it was weird at first, but got used to it and started to find it sweet when he began doing it when she got close after getting with James.
Big spoons: Sirius, Lily, Dorcas, Frank, Pandora
Little spoons: Remus, James, Marlene, Alice, Xenophilius
When Harry is born, Sirius is dead terrified of holding him. He will do literally anything to avoid it. He spills hot coffee on his arm when Lily offers the first time, playing it off as an accident. He lies that he hurt his elbow in a battle when James tries to hand Harry over. He casts a wordless, wandless spell on his arm to cover it in rashes, saying he shouldnāt, just in case itās contagious, when Remus tries to pass Harry to him. He comes up with excuses every single time. He lies to Lily, to James, to Remus, Peter, Mary, Marlene, Dorcas, Emmeline, Frank, Alice, and everyone else who comes into contact with Harry and him.
Everyone, after two months of this, assumes that Sirius just doesnāt like babies and isnāt willing to say it to them, for some reason. When James finally corners him, handing him Harry because āheās your godson! You canāt go your entire life avoiding him. How do you expect to bond with him if you wonāt even let him hold your finger?ā Sirius awkwardly holds the kid, every muscle in his body tense, tears in his eyes, shaking, genuinely petrified. James takes Harry back and finally presses Sirius until he spills.
Sirius adores Harry. He doesnāt love kids, generally, but his nephew, his godson, is the exception. That doesnāt change the fact that he is terrified of the idea of hurting Harry. Heās so scared that his upbringing has permanently fucked something in his brain up and, if he gets into close contact with a kid, that something will be triggered. Heās terrified that he, if presented with an innocent, sweet, adorable child, could become the monsters that raised him.
Me wanting to post more art on my blog: :D
Me realizing that that means I need to actually draw things at some point: :0
