I was definitely critical of Azi for not being more compassionate or at least recognizing that Levi is gaining sentience, but rewatching again I realize I probably would've acted the same way. She's just trying to survive she can't explain to her microwave what emotions are right now!

One of the silly takes I’ve seen about Scavenger’s Reign is Azi shouldn’t be mildly annoyed at Levi suddenly straying from protocol because they’re becoming sentient. I think if I was stuck in my house and could only cook TV dinners, I’d be annoyed if my microwave started composing poetry for no reason.

Scavenger’s reign is incredible for so so many reasons, but what immediately made it stand apart from other tv was oddly enough, for me, the body horror(?). It is immaculately grotesque, horrifically beautiful at times- It destroys and changes the human form with care and precision that can only come from deep knowledge and frankly respect. Each animal feels tangible and real - from the skin and chitin to the bones and organs.

I appreciate scavengers reign for making it's aliens actually function as animals instead of generically hyper aggressive or evil monsters. They're just lil guys surviving, hiding, nurturing and hunting on their lil planet. Even the few that are kinda scary are just acting on survival tactics instinctively even if it harms the human crew.

#scavengersreign is a rare bird, a shooting star. I was lucky enough to see it inside, work on it. Now it's re-released, let's keep this anomaly shining.

Hey maybe watch scavengers reign it’s got evil woman, she’s like a rat bastard and faces little to no consequences for her actions and honestly she’s kinda great, maybe if that doesn’t strike your fancy we’ve got pathetic meow meow man that fucks up repeatedly and often, we’ve got an old fat dilf that is just so tired and every single alien yearns for his body, we’ve got yuri in two different flavors; human on human and human on robot.
