Okay, I just read my first Agatha Christie novel and like... the Seventh Doctor was absolutely inspired by Poirot, right? Tiny little manipulative man solves mysteries describes exactly two pieces of media I know of, so the coincidence is way too high, right? I'm not just making stuff up here, right??
