I often think about the time when I was like 12 years old on scratch the coding website. I was in a Hamilton (the musical) comment section and I was talking about how I shipped Alexander Hamilton and John Lawrence together (because I was 12.) and this other kid responded and was clearly shipping the actual actors together instead. And at the time I responded with “ewwwww why would you ship the actors?” I look back on that now with disappointment. I was not living up to my true rpf shipping potential. I was not matching this other 12 year olds freak. I think back and wonder how life could have been different if I instead responded with compassion and understanding. We could have been friends, if only I understood that engaging in modern day rpf instead of those old founding farts is far more fun. I understand now that we were not so different her and I. Anyway, all this to say I’m thrilled that the og cast is reuniting.
