Eternal Sunshine AU || Sherlock finds out that John ‘erased’ him from his memory with a new controversial procedure at Baskerville after ending their relationship. Betrayed and angry, Sherlock retaliates by undergoing the same procedure, in order to forget John. But as he begins to loose each precious memory that he and John had with one another… Sherlock immediately regrets his decision.

Looking over to Sherlock, she sighed. “You were not supposed to see this. I’m terribly sorry, and I do apologize.” Her voice seemed to give off the impression she was anything but sorry. Rather, inconvenienced.
“I want to do it.” Sherlock repeated darkly. “John erased me for a reason, and if I can’t know WHY… then I want to forget him in turn.”
Stapleton furrowed her brow, setting the telegram down, “Our files are confidential Mister Holmes… so we can’t show you any statements or consultation records.” She paused, looking back up toward Sherlock. “Suffice it to say, Doctor Watson was… not happy, and he wanted to move on. We provided that possibility. I told him once that anything was possible here. I guess he lucked out; erasing someone or something from a person’s memory is surprisingly simple.” Stapleton explained. “Given the circumstances of this particular situation… I would be willing to perform the procedure on you. If you’re sure, that is.” She clarified. “It’s still considered experimental, but then again, almost everything we do here is.” She mused.

The Friend Loss period from 2020-2023
I have discovered that apparently a variety of people (myself included) lost a great number of friends during the following years. And to clarify, by loss I don’t mean death, I mean falling outs for whatever number of reasons.
The number of people I lost? Eleven. And I don’t know if I particularly would like to vent on the internet as to how the these circumstances occurred, but it’s mainly stupid drama and one unknown as of the current moment.
The Logic part of me wants to say that it’s all coincidence, but the spiritual part of me wants to know of it’s something more.
Maybe I’m just at that age of my life as other Gen Zs where I’m finding out more about myself and it doesn’t quite mesh with those I had previously surrounded myself with.
Maybe COVID had something to do with this too, after people spent so much time in isolation? I can theorize all I want, but still have no clue.
To quote my favorite movie, Eternal Sunshine, “What a loss to spend that much time with someone only to find out they’re a stranger.”

I don’t know how to cope. I don’t know how to heal or forget or move on.
I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for the first time today. I don’t really watch movies, so I avoided it for a long time, but I knew I would love it.
It’s devastating.
When I think about you, I wish I could forget. We had one intense year. Every minute we spent together, it was just one year. One year of secrets, of competing, of falling asleep on the phone. Just one year of games and arguments and half given truths. If it was gone, I would be okay.
I spent 5 years pretending you didn’t happen. Waving away any brief thought. A quick smile to a memory before pushing it down, until they were all pushed down and nothing left. I didn’t bring you up in conversations anymore. I didn’t check the weather where you were. I deleted our pictures, made new accounts to avoid our old conversations. I turned the radio off when that song came on. I unlearned habits.
When did I stop subtracting three hours every time I looked at a clock?
I would give everything to go back and love you all over again.
Last year, I heard songs that reminded me of you, but I played them on repeat instead of skipping them. I went back to the games we played together. I started to see you in everything. You come up in conversations. You’re always on my mind.
