Just to point it out, nobody has ever said Wikipedia is 'not accurate' (though edit wars and unnoticed mischief edits can always damage a particular article's accuracy). The reason people recommend not researching through wikipedia is that it is not a primary source, which means that the articles are derived from an assortment of sources, which you should refer to for your primary information (And which most often are correctly quoted on wikipedia). But for most pages and essays that don't require exhaustive documentation, you're 1000% ok with it.
