Curate, connect, and discover
// 27/10/23// finally arrived at Buenos Aires! It took us around 8 hs by car but it felt fast. I'm so happy to be here with my dad, brother and bf, specially because my parents were a refusing a bit to accept that he's actually my bf lol but here we are! We spent a loooot of money, everything is so cheap for us (foreigners in general), the money exchange is crazy... You literally feel like you're part of the Mafia or playing Monopoly (sorry Argentinean people). It's kinda fun to come and spend so much and get so much more stuff but I really hope things here get better after their presidential elections next month...
Walked a lot
Bought essentials from the pharmacy
Ate
Bought stuff for my cat
Bought a gift for a friend's puppy
Speaking of Mulder and mental health, I see his paranoia about keeping Scully safe in particular as a manifestation of anxiety post Samantha (justified in his world, obviously) but it doesn't get framed as that in the original show because action heroes can't have mental health issues aside from when we want Mulder to try to kill himself and only then for like 30 seconds
but on the other hand i object to the allegation that a 'loyal malewife transformation' was necessary. MSR is not The Taming Of The Shrew/Moonlighting, they just liked each other on a personally compatible level from day 2 and both of them are hard wired for extremes of devotion, which are demonstrated immediately.
mulder saying 'nothing else matters' about trying to save his baby sister and 'wanting to believe' that she will be returned safe is a demonstration of that absurd devotion and by the time Scully's shown she's not going to turn on him and in fact will take secret military police hostage for him, she's earned that devotion, too. Even when these things aren't directly stated, they can be inferred from their actions.
Even when they don't agree about work things and scientific findings, there are no phases believed the other is shallow/amoral/scum-like/vindictive/faithless, etc.
