This small tutorial is for anyone who's having trouble with the key commands of the much needed mod Sims 3 Decorator Tools by @omedapixel
Since it was hinted months(?) ago, I've been eagerly waiting for the release. And it didn't disappoint. One thing though, as I recently realised that it can cause confusion on non-US keyboard users.
The reason keys '[' and ']' provided by the mod is not working is because the 'commands' are bound to the actual physical keys on your board and not to the symbols on the keys. For example, to rotate the camera I use two keys right next to the M key, and the symbols on them are just letters in my language and not the US Keyboard symbols.
To fix the issue, first look at your own keyboard and detect the letters P, L and M. These letters are usually where letters end and symbols start on US keyboard. In any variation of QWERTY for some other languages there may/will be extra letters on the keyboard.
What you will do is note the keys next to 'Enter', RShift and sometimes the Arrow keys on your keyboard and whatever is next to them. The trick is to select the physical keys and not the symbols on them. It will be slightly different on every keyboard depending on your language variation.
In theory, anything between P,L,M and Enter, RShift, Arrow Keys should work.
So, if you have '.' or ',' next to your Enter key that is the key -not the symbol- you will use to send things up or down. In a way, your own '[' or ']'. After you decide upon two physical keys on your keyboard to use with up10cm and down10cm commands of the mod, you will go look at the US Keyboard Layout and detect those two physical keys and what's labelled on them.
You will use whatever symbols are on the keys of US Keyboard, in the mod's TRIG resource. Then add 'Shift' variants for 1cm up & down. You need to take notes of the keys and what symbols they have on your keyboard because they will be different from the US layout.
In case you're confused about the whole process - I'm not sure if I explained it well - I'm also pasting the values I have changed in TRIG resource and they work fine for me. You will still need to find what symbol is there on your keyboard for a US '/', though.
/ = MoveUp10CM -> . on my keyboard ' = MoveDown10CM -> a special letter on my keyboard shift / = MoveUp1CM shift ' = MoveDown1CM q = ResetHeight shift 8 = MoveForward5CM shift 5 = MoveBackward5CM shift 4 = MoveLeft5CM shift 6 = MoveRight5CM shift d = EnableDecoratorMode control 8 = TiltForward control 5 = TiltBackward control 4 = TiltLeft control 6 = TiltRight shift q = ClearSelected control alt 4 = TurnLeft control alt 6 = TurnRight
You can try these first as a base and maybe move on from there. It's a 'try and see if it works' kind of thing, really. I also changed the numpad values to regular number keys on my keyboard because I don't have a numpad. If the numpad works for you, don't touch those. And remember, keys you enter in the TRIG resource are not the symbols you will press on your keyboard. I noted down the symbols and what they do on a paper so I wouldn't forget.
NOTE: Don't use 'q' unless you also use Awesomemod, since I believe it will quit the game. đ I use Awesomemod and I use 'q' key to reset the height.
I hope this helps and if you have questions, just ask either in the comments or as an ask, or just DM me - whichever you prefer. I will make additions to the post if needed.
I always wanted to do something like this at least once but I never had the occasion until I realised not so long ago, that my clutter folder for decorating closet was not so small. I searched for more decoration clutters and then did this. I hope it will be useful one way or another. Also this is part 01 so this mean that there is more to come indeed. Next probably will be the shoes. And no custom patterns where used because I didnât want to make the list longer⊠So all patterns are from EA.

This was something I made a couple of years ago for a family I was playing that was poor so they were eating cereal most of the time. I have the mod where you have to buy everything to cook or eat anything from the fridge but didn't want to have to buy 10 cereals all the time so I used the idea from Arsil's Food Maker and applied it to a cereal box, then made some granola bars to boot.
You can purchase them from the grocery store (General Section) as well as in the Buy Mode catalog. You can read the label which will tell you nonsense + how many servings are left. Once it's empty, you'll have to dispose of the box.
Cereal: There are 6 servings in each box. Sugary cereal will give you a sugar rush but it also might give you a toothache. The cereal box objects are from ATS Sandy and I just added my script to it. (Note: When placed in the world for the first time, it may show up as red, you need to go into CAST and just switch presets and the texture will show up.)
Granola/Protein Bars: There are 6 servings in each. Both will give you a bit of hunger increase, though the granola bar more so. The protein bar will give your Sim an hour of Adrenaline Rush which boosts Athletic Skill so it's best to eat before a workout. If you are fatigued, it will remove the fatigue moodlet.
Requirements: CCLoader for the custom food (sugary cereal) and the University EP because the bars are based on the candy bar.
Download here.
Thanks to ATS Sandy for the generous use of her awesome stuff. And Arsil for the original idea and the code snippets I pulled from their mod.
More info & download under the cut:
These are the wall ivy pieces that come with the store Old Mill set (original here). I've made them all recolorable, with the first preset of each being the original with the overlay, and the second one (fourth for the window piece) the one you can CAST.
These are standalone packages, you don't need the original store files. However I've used Blams' undecrapped files as base and haven't renumbered them, so if you already have the store originals these should replace them.
7 pieces, all under deco/plants, the top 3 are shiftable.
BG compatible, compressed.
Enjoy!

I thought Iâd post a little guide to removing messed up content that was installed along with something else accidentally. There were a few files in my game that werenât package files, and I hadnât installed them as .sims3packs either.
With Nraas MasterController installed, I went into CAS and right-clicked the offending item. Doing that produces a yellow pop-up on the right side of the screen. In the pop-up, you should see the instance number of the item in question. Take a screenshot for reference. Close your game.
Open the first .dbc file from C:\Users\[yourUsername]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\DCCache in S3pe. Type in the instance number that you took the screenshot of into the Instance Number text box (in the lower right of S3pe). Then check the âfilter activeâ checkbox, and click âsetâ. If the offending item is in the .dbc file youâre checking, all other sub-files will disappear and youâll see just that one (or two if thereâs an accompanying thumbnail image). If all disappear, youâll need to open the next .dbc file and check there. Right-click the filtered sub-item when you find it, and select âDeletedâ. Save the .dbc. The bad item should be gone.
Please consider reblogging this for othersâ benefit - it was driving me crazy until I discovered this solution, so hopefully it will alleviate someone elseâs pain. ;)

We all know around the world that the Scottish New Year is highly significant and steeped in traditions. Mostly stemming from pagan and even Norse traditions and customs, they are ingrained in us, well us old folk anyway. You all know this because our song 'Auld Lang Syne' (times long past), by Robert Burns, is used all over the world, which has always surprised me. There are many traditions at New Year but I'll stick to the ones I know about and practiced through my life. Auld Lang Syne, do it properly. You should be in a circle around the dancefloor to sing it, holding hands in the normal way, at the last verse you cross your arms over your chest and take hands with those on either side of you again, I see foreigners crossing the arms all through and that's wrong. When the song ends everyone should run onto the dance floor still linked together, then you all have to twist under your arms without letting go so that you face outward from the circle.
Haud Hogmanay
Hogmanay is our biggest night, the above is how to say Happy Hogmanay in Scots. This happens on 31st December as midnight approaches. Major preparations are in place for this event and right now people are scurrying about making sure their houses are absolutely spotless, Redding the House, that all the dirt from the old year is out. You should have all debts paid before the bells too but this is nigh on impossible in todays economic climate. We also call this 'The Bells' When the bells ring at midnight you should be doing several things. Here where I live we do still have the horns from the shipyards going off at midnight but usually you hear church bells too. As they ring you should be spotlessly clean, house clean, food ready for guests, you should be holding a drink in one hand and food in the other, you must have money in your pocket. This is to ensure food will be there all year long. Whatever you are doing at the bells is what your year will bring. Once the bells have rung out, signifying the start of the new year, you should open a window to let the old year out and the new year in. This is when people step out of their homes and go 'first footing'. Also as soon as the bells ring you must turn your calendar over to the new one. My new one is currently on the wall under the old one, I will remove the old one when the bells ring.
First Footing
Your first foot is the first person who will cross your threshold in the new year, it is hoped that this person will be dark haired, I wasn't allowed out of the door until we had a first foot because I was blonde, just in case I came back before a first foot, a dark haired person brings luck, a male is preferred. Obviously in old times dark haired people were few and far between in Scotland and the Norse areas, which favoured blondes and red heads. Now this person is also charged with traditions and they must have 3 things. Food, drink and a piece of coal. It is also lucky if they bring a coin with them. This is them bringing prosperity to your home. Never turn up at a Scots house in the week after New Year empty handed, on the off chance you are their first foot.
Food for Hogmanay
Many things are traditional, cock a leekie soup, even Cullen skink (fish soup, yuck), Haggis Neeps (turnips) and tatties (potatoes), most commonly steak pie is made for the bells. This came from a time when Hogmanay wasn't a holiday (it still isn't) and there was no time for food prep so often the steak pie was bought from the butchers. A meal will be enjoyed with the family and there should be enough for any unexpected guests, never run out of food or drink at New Year, yes we do have a whisky. Shortbread of course and my favourite 'bun', this is a type of cake, we have Madeira (plain), sultana or my favourite, which I just had, cherry bun. Clooty dumpling is also very much a part of it all, the leftovers from this can be fried in the morning for breakfast, I don't think many people make the dumpling from scratch now but I do remember my gran and mum doing it. The dumpling would have a coin in it , wrapped in greaseproof paper, it was considered lucky to find the coin. For some odd reason as a kid I always got the bit with the coin from my grannies clooty dumpling, I was the first grandchild, it was rigged. At that time it was a sixpence, which I called a wee shilling, if you don't get that, you never will.
Bonfires, yes we did but not sure this still happens, old pagan thing. Fireworks are loud just as the bells ring and they go on for too long in my opinion.
The celebrations can go on for a full 3 days and sometimes still do, people in a family pick a day they will host, we always did the 2nd when I was a kid. I remember in the morning waking up and finding the living room full of sleeping people while my mum would be in the kitchen making French toast for them all, along with some of that fried leftover clooty dumpling. It's not as busy at New Year as it was back then, with many people just staying up to hear the bells and just going to bed, like I'll be doing tonight, don't worry I do have my cherry bun and a wee dram of Jura Whisky to 'bring in the Bells'.
Ramblings and memories of an old Scottish Woman.

May the best you've ever seen be the worst you'll ever see. May a mouse never leave your (pantry, larder, food cupboard) with a tear in his eye, May you be healthy and strong until you're old enough to die. May you always be as happy as we wish you to be.
Ever want to do something to help all the messed up Sims in your town? With this mod, your Sim can run a private clinic as a therapist.
You can join the Psychiatry career, buy a Therapist couch and start treating patients for all their emotional and mental maladies. Using a clinic controller object, patients will be pushed to your clinic lot in need of treatment. Active patients can be identified by the orange and white symbol over their head (pictured above).
This is the first part of a larger game mod that allows Sims to be more active doctors similar to what we have in TS4 Get to Work. Your Sim will be able to run a clinic out of their house or from a commercial lot and treat patients for different ailments. Eventually you'll be able to play as a Psychiatrist, Optometrist, Ob-GyM, or a General Physician.
This mod also adds two additional features:
Medicine - Sims can buy prescription or over-the-counter medicine to treat various mild ailments. Medicines can be purchased at the grocery store (Home section) or Buy catalog. There is also a collection file where you can find all available objects. Prescription medicine can only be obtained at the grocery store or hospital with a prescription.
Drug Addiction - Sims can get addicted to the prescription medicine if they overuse it. This can lead to withdrawal symptoms and potential overdose. There is an option to go to rehab at the hospital for Sims that need the help to kick the habit.
You need NRaas Careers (for the custom career), University, Island Paradise, Ambitions EPs.
Download instructions:
The Private Clinic main module has all the medicines, the clinic controller and addiction system. You need that to play as a Therapist but if you just want the medicines, you only need to download these files. Note that you cannot write prescriptions or do anything doctor related without downloading the Psychiatry module. Download here
There is also a collection file which has all the available objects
The Psychiatry module is required to play as a therapist. The career is optional but some features won't be available without it. Download here
There are documentation files in both folders that go through the features in detail so PLEASE READ through them before downloading.
Credits/Thanks: All the objects except for the Couch which is EA's are from @aroundthesims so thanks as always to Sandy for her wonderful stuff and generous use policy. Thanks to everyone on the S3 Creators Discord that did early testing for the mod, especially @misspats3 who tests like it's her job with photos, videos, detailed notes. đ Also to Battery who helped me with the manager system.
As always if you have any issues (resets, missing strings, etc.) please let me know.
This idea came while I was building a cafĂ©. I just wanted to put a croissant on a plate. I couldnât find a decorative plate with a containment slot and wondered whatâs the point of a plate Sims canât use?
These act as surfaces your Sims can grab and eat morsel-like custom foods from. No more eating off the table or the floor! đ±
Standalone object. Unlike normal plates they wonât disappear off community lots and cannot be cleaned up by Sims.
Default replacements will override the first preset if one is installed.
More suited towards buffets than formal dining as, unless instructed to âPick Upâ, âSitâ, and then âEat Morselâ, Sims will eat while standing up.
