I just realized something sad about Hades.

Ok so, in Rome Zeus, Poseidon and Hades names are Jupiter, Neptune and Pluto. Which are the same names as the planets in our solar system, except Pluto isn't considered a planet, just like how Hades isn't considered an Olympian😭

N/ purely self-indulgent hhh, plus I always wanted to do something like this when I read a good fic. First attempt at making a webcomic.

Summary:

The log that Naruto’s been punching shatters clean apart, reduced to little more than splinters under the devastating force of his chakra enhanced blow.

Shocked and more than a bit startled, Shikamaru wheezes loudly, the sound carrying across the clearing and causing Naruto to abruptly turn and look in his direction.

And in that single moment Shikamaru is lost.

"Time for a new plan." Because, really, there's no way life with Naruto is going to be any form of quiet or normal.

....Shikamaru's entire life plan has to be thrown out the window and then redrawn from scratch.

Either way Shikamaru's not actually all that upset about his entire life being thrown into an abrupt upheaval.

After all, convincing Naruto to marry him as soon as possible will be well worth the effort.

Naruto's pretty sure this is the closest they've ever actually been to one another outside of the few times they've been paired up to spar in class.

"What're you doing after this?" Shikamaru asks, one hand coming out of his pocket to reach out and play idly with the dangling sleeve of Naruto's kimono.

"After training?" Naruto keeps one eye on Shikamaru's hand...

"More like for the rest of your life," Shikamaru says. "But sure, we can start with training."

Naruto blinks.

.....[Naruto's] not really sure what, exactly, is happening here but he thinks this might mean Shikamaru wants to be his friend now.

Ah my sweet summer child.

Not an exact play by play of what was written in the fic, only the gist I guess and the moment that rly stuck in my head and got me giggling in my pillow.

My love for the "oblivious pure(?) mc and their darker, possessive s/o" trope has struck again. Couldn't've stopped myself from finishing this even when sleep-deprived, which I currently am right now. Had fun challenging myself with this too and might attempt it again with a future chapter or other works depending on my schedule. I'm occupied with studying this month so making something time extensive like this won't happen for awhile yet.

how did Donald Duck influence Star Wars? And wasn’t Indiana Jones inspired by Scrooge, not Donald?

George Lucas and Steven Spielberg mentioned that they were inspired by Carl Barks' comics.

So was Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astro Boy and "Godfather of Modern Manga."

And Donald Duck was going on adventures with his nephews in the Carl Barks comics long before Scrooge McDuck was created and this is precisely why DT17 and other media trying to give all the credit to Scrooge but forgetting that Donald was the FIRST just proves my point in my frustration with them.

Everyone just thinks it was Scrooge McDuck thanks to the later Don Rosa's work: "Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" which was loosely based on Carl Barks' works (Don Rosa exaggerated a lot of Scrooge's abilities at the expense of Donald's).

This is why I advocate for giving credit where credit is due when it comes to canon characters and where I feel DT17 really dropped the ball. Donald was an adventurer looong before Scrooge and some of Carl Barks' best comics don't even have him:

-"Donald Duck Finds Pirate Gold" - Carl Barks first full length comic

- "Mystery of the Swamp" - Donald and nephews encounter gnomish creatures in the Everglades which some think were the inspiration for the Ewoks in Star Wars

"The Mad Chemist" (the comic credited with discovering the chemical compound methylene 20 years before it was actually studied and verified!)

-"Lost in the Andes" - Carl Barks claimed was his best work

- "The Golden Helmet" - Donald and nephews: whoever possesses the golden helmet is ruler of North America

- "The Ice Box Robber" - The comic that showcased Donald having WWII PTSD

- "Sherrif of Bullet Valley" - Donald and nephews in the Wild West

- "Dangerous Disguise" - a comic about spies where a Donald look alike commits suicide by jumping out of a window

- "Luck of the North" Donald and nephews rescue Gladstone in Alaska

"Old California" - Donald and the nephews seem to time travel to California in 1848 and they witness the family there living their lives. It turns out they were in a bad car accident and were on the hospital in a coma for weeks. But the house is still there.

"A Christmas for Shacktown" - Donald and the nephews find ways to raise money for the poor kids in town

"The Gilded Man" - A search for a rare stamp leads Donald and the boys finding El Dorado

- "The Forbidden Valley" - Donald and the nephews discover a lost land of dinosaurs

Just to name a few. There are plenty more.

The great thing about the Carl Barks comics especially when it came to Donald was that although he still had bad luck, it showed him also have great skills in practically everything and it tackled deep emotional issues and real world events such as PTSD, spies/espionage, danger/adventure, poverty, but in a way that was relatable and entertaining.

Donald mixed the best of high action adventure with scenes of intimate, heartwarming domestic life with his nephews. It was literally the best of both worlds: adventure and domestic life.

So the world needs to know that actually it's Donald Duck that deserves the credit for the success of the Carl Barks comics. Not only was Donald first but he was used as the protagonist for many more comics than Scrooge. And I hope if we ever get another version of Ducktales that the writers actually credit Donald as he deserves and not a bunch of semi newbies that don't even exist in the original comics.

There's so much he inspired and influenced that people don't know and so it's unfair for him to be sidelined as he was for characters that haven't accomplished one iota of what he has.

It's time to give credit where it's actually due: to Donald Duck.

The scenarios in my head of Miles' parents meeting the other spider people is funny because Gwen literally got called emo by Jefferson and then the second Hobie walks in they started questioning what type of friends Miles' making but atleast he has manners but then Peter for crying out loud that's when they really question Miles' taste in friends and at least Noir is tolerable kinda strange but tolerable. Porker can't really meet Mile's parents yet but they'll get there. And then PENI walks in and they absolutely love her and to add on that is that she sees Miles as ano older brother figure which makes them lover more Rio even made her ramen when she asked Miles what's Peni's favorite/comfort food and Peni LOVED it. When Rio and Jefferson met Pavitr they exploded like hello???? He's respectful? Smiles a lot? And has manners?? And he even brought food and they (Read: Rio) asked Miles if he could idk, ask him out marry him??????

Unfortunately, Pavitr mistook this as a "friends' hangout" and asked Miles out and he just took the silence as a yes and gave Miles a piece of paper and went You're free tomorrow right I'll pick you up in 6 okay? Great! Then he needed to go back but Rio and Jeff did not miss the name Pavitr called Miles and decided to google on what it means

(Pav called him "Pyar" which means Love or Dear they were enthralled because they're all our son has a boyfriend and he's respectful ong)

Adrino Dad Headcanons

So, let’s talk about Adrino as dads for a minute. We were chatting about Adrien as a dad and @chassecroise​ who encouraged this whole idea in the first place and @ladriened​ collaborated with me on these ideas.

Adrien being excited about the idea when Alya and Marinette have a child of their own, spending days researching it and coming up with the best path to parenthood.

Up until the instant he realizes he has to tell his dad and that means, oh right, Adrien’s going to be a dad and he can never be the sort of dad his dad was. Panic starts up because, even though he loves kids, what if he does the same things his dad did?

Nino steps in at this point, being the calm one to assure him he won’t be like his dad and he’ll care for his kid and won’t leave the baby to a sitter while he works.

That being said, you know he would have Nathalie and the Gorilla involved in that kid’s life.

So, imagine Chat Noir reading baby books during lulls in patrols and he and Ladybug talking about preparing for kids, swapping tips about baby proofing.

Nino following baby blogs and already picking out playlists for the baby.

Marinette designing baby clothes and toys for both of their kids.

Alya and Marinette are absolutely the godparents for their kid. Adrien and Nino are the godparents for theirs.

Adrien and Nino have a black cat themed nursery and at least three ladybug toys.

Adrien commissions Marinette to make a black cat toy with plush headphones, and it is absolutely the kid’s favorite toy. It never leaves the baby’s side.

Adrien being just short of a helicopter parent at times. Panicking when the baby wakes up in the middle of the night, and Nino has to calm him down. “It’s okay, it’s probably just a wet diaper. Go back to sleep. You have work tomorrow. I’ll take care of it.”

Buying a nice keyboard to keep in the kid’s room so Adrien can play lullabies and lull the baby to sleep, because bless that boy but he shouldn’t sing the kid to sleep.

Plagg sneaking the baby Camembert because “Come on, it’s the best food around. You’ve gotta teach the kid taste early on.”

Nino learning all his family’s recipes and feeding his kid all the best Moroccan food, trying to get Plagg to try some, too, because honestly only Camembert?

Alya and Marinette’s baby being Adrien and Nino’s baby’s best friend. Play dates while Ladybug and Chat Noir are patrolling or when one of the couples needs a night alone.

Hiring Nathalie as a babysitter, and she goes above and beyond. She’s invited to every birthday party.

The Gorilla is the kid’s favorite, because he is a human jungle gym and infinitely patient and tolerant.

Alya using her connections to rent out the entire zoo for the kids to explore.

Alya also taking out an entire page in the newspaper to announce Adrien and Nino’s kid (barely stopping herself from getting an actual billboard).

Adrien and Nino collaborating to write songs for the baby. The baby gets an annual themed song for every birthday. (They’ll make a playlist for graduation and they’ll cry for days over it.)

If Gabriel is a part of the baby’s life, which I like to imagine he would, he’d send over designer baby clothes and buy outlandishly expensive gifts. Most of them would be to keep the baby safe. You know he’d hire someone to check Adrien and Nino’s home to be sure it’s up to snuff with babyproofing.

The head of the healing coven has never been around Hunter for more than a few minutes at a time, mostly because Belos forbids that the two of them interact for some strange reason, but the few times they’ve gotten close to Hunter always reveals something concerning about the golden guard.

And I’m not just talking about the healing coven head noticing Hunter’s scars. I’m talking about the head of the healing coven noticing the weird quirks of Hunter’s grimwalker biology.

The first thing they notice is his fireproof skin. It’s not that weird at first glance, many demons have a slight resistance to fire, but the concerning part is just how strong that fireproof skin is. The demons that have some fireproofing built into their bodies aren’t completely immune to fire and they can still be burned with enough of it. Hunter is not only completely fireproof, but can walk through the boiling rain and swim through the boiling sea. This just shouldn’t be possible for a witch like him.

The second thing they noticed was his body temperature. It happened during a mission with Eberwolf and Hunter. They were trying to hunt down a beast that was terrorizing a local area. Eberwolf was there to track down the thing, Hunter was there to fight the thing (he had just been promoted to Golden Guard a few days ago and Belos said it would be good training for the future), and they were there to act as a healer to Eberwolf, Hunter and any civilians that were injured by the thing. Long story short Eberwolf cast a spell that let all of them see in infrared so they could track down the creature using its body heat and the healing coven head noticed that Hunter’s body was at a much higher temperature than what is normal for a witch. Constantly at temperatures that a regular witch would consider feverish. They actually mentioned this to Hunter and he just went “Oh yeah that’s perfectly normal for me. Uncle says it’s something I inherited from my family.” They spent the entire next day searching for something that could cause those unnaturally high body temperatures and be passed down genetically but they never found anything.

The third thing they noticed was his heartbeat. A slow heartbeat is normal for some witches and demons, the boiling isles are very, very diverse when it comes to biology, but the complete lack of a heartbeat definitely isn’t normal. They originally tried to justify this with the logic that Hunter’s armour must make his heartbeat harder to hear but no. Hunter just straight up has no heartbeat.

The fourth thing they noticed was on a trip to the knee. All the coven heads were travelling there for a meeting regarding the day of unity and the golden guard was there acting as a bodyguard. As they all trekked through the cold of the knee, the head of the healing coven noticed that they could see Hunter’s breath coming from the eye holes in his mask, and by playing attention to that, they noticed how slowly Hunter seems to breathe. So slowly that it’s hard to tell if he’s breathing at all at times.

But one of the strangest things they’ve seen was the golden guard running into the castle after a mission, covered in visible injuries. Hunter went straight past them and headed straight towards the throne room to speak to Belos. The healing coven head only caught a small glimpse of Hunter as he ran past, but they swear to this day that Hunter’s blood was as green as the insides of a palisman, with some actually red blood mixed in. No witch or demon on the boiling isles has blood like that.

abt percy jackson's middle name - a long post

let's talk about percy's middle name, its implication and what is my headcanon for it!!

first a warning!! i know very little abt actual greek mithology. i've tried to read my copy of odyssey and illiad a total of 10 times and i CANNOT for my life understand that shit. having said that, my mythos knowledge is based on hours on wikipedia sources pages, greek miths articles and more. anyways, this will have spoilers of the Percy Jackson Universe by Rick Riordan.

having been warned, I should start with one point:

percy doesn't have a middle name in canon. From what we've known it's never mentioned a middle name at all, wich is not very uncommon in the PJO universe, as most character do not have one (from the top of my head the only ones that canonically have one are Rachel and Reyna (Rachel Elizabeth Dare and Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano))

BUT in most fandom fanfics that feature his middle name, he is called Perseus Achilles Jackson. Again, it is not canon, but it is so common that most people think it is true. Unfortunately, it doesn't make sense.

It's canon that Sally was the one that named Percy, and she chose Perseus, a son of Zeus, as her choice because he was one of the only Greek heroes that in most versions of the myths get to live a long and relatively happy life after their adventures. From what I've known most times Perseus dies of old age or ascends as a constellation along with his mother and his wife, Andromeda.

Now, what are the implications that we know of?

this will be mostly speculation and head canons, so beware!!

i don't think Rick Riordan ever stated, but it is possible to draw parallels between Percy and Annabeth with Perseus and Andromeda, essentially in their first quest, even more in the series. The same is possible to associate with other characters with names derived from Greek myths.

and, until now, all of Percy's quest he has come back alive, even if the world was ending or if he has gone trough Tartarus, he has come back alive.

As it stands in canon, it's often said that names have power !! saying gods, monsters or others names will call their attention, or give them power. it could be associated that those names with History, or a Legacy HAVE more power and purpose behind them. Ex: Castor and Pollux, Jason, could even say Leo etc.

that is great, and reforces that its possible Sally did something right about the naming.

now, next part is a FULL BLOWN HEAD CANON!!

to me, his full name is Perseus Ulysses Jackson. let me tell you why.

Ulysses = Odysseus

Ulysses comes from Odysseus, yes, the Greek hero hated by Poseidon from the Odyssey. Why would Sally do that? Same reason of why Perseus.

Odysseus, despite all his Odyssey, came back home. In the Odyssey, is said he will live the rest of his life peacefully, and apparently he lived mor 10 years as Ithaca's King. There is another myth where he is killed by his son with Circe, but ignore that for this post.

I think it would make sense for the way they both lived that even if Poseidon hated him, that Sally would have her son named after a hero and a general that even after everything he went trough he still made home, still had people who believed in him, even if Sally herself were not there to see him, like Odysseus' mother, at least he would be alive.

Someone that is selfish in a way if that means he lives. In the same way Sally calls herself selfish for trying to have Percy with her for more time during the years before TLT. For that she endured Gabe.

Not that she knew that of course, but the fates could be at work. I'm always fan of a good foreshadowing.

Now Speaking of foreshadowing, next topic

2. Ulysses - Roman name

Ulysses is the roman version of Odysseus, still has the same meaning and the roman version of the myth is not that different. Why roman, then?

First, because my Odyssey copy was with the Roman names and I was very pissed at that when I was 12 and tried reading it for the first time and discovered that the FUCKING ODYSSEY MAN WAS NOT CALLED ODYSSEUS IN MY VERSION, to my frustration.

ANYWAY, second point: Percy has a connection to the Roman since the first book.

In his classes with Chiron, Percy fights in Roman armor, swords and has Latin classes, and while that is all good and cool, i always found it strange of Chiron to teach Latin, and not Greek. Of course, it could be a ruse of Chiron to distance Percy even more from his greek side, while still helping him learn about the world. it could be nothing.

but to me is not nothing.

Percy has a weird facility with Latin at 12 that Jason did not have with Greek at 16. And while it could be argued that they did not have their memories, Percy was a 12 yo boy that CURSED IN LATIN in a time of distress. I bet they did not have classes about "How to curse in Latin" and i doubt Percy searched for that somewhere.

Percy is very connected with the Roman side of the demigod world, he feels drawn to New Rome, goes to the Roman Uni and he gets so wrapped in it he becomes PREATOR in like a week!! while Jason spent months on the Greek side.

Percy has a lot of participation in Both sides of the demigods being a kinda important figure in both camps.

now, a subtopic.

Percy Jackson: Son of Neptune

Percy is presented as a son of Neptune from the get go in camp Jupiter, wich he doesn't protest at any time (from what i remember), the thing is Poseidon IS different from Neptune specially their roots.

Poseidon is primarily the god of the sea. Neptune is the god of rivers, springs, and waters.

Technically, Percy should not have control of any type of water or rivers, his father is the god of SEA, saltwater. Even then, he can control even the rivers in the Underworld. He has such control of "water" that he can control ALL LIQUIDS! That is not Poseidon's domain, the control of Waters is Neptune's.

knowing this i like to believe the following.

Percy is the son of both Poseidon and Neptune. Don't ask me the logistics, i wouldn't know, and i don't care. HOWEVER when you add things up, it makes sense, in my head, at least.

In conclusion, Sally associates her son's fate with two heroes that go trough MANY hardships but get back home, are strong and live kind of happy lives after that. One of them is mainly Greek, being his first name, what he is primarily called. The other is Roman, it is there, but it's not mentioned, but it still is his name, and it gives him power.

Specially, when you think that the roman counterparts all have a child, except Neptune. Pluto has Hazel, Hades had Bianca and Nico. Jupiter had Jason, Zeus has Thalia. Poseidon has Percy, Neptune has no one? seems unequal and unbalanced in a way the gods wouldn't allow.

Not only that but why would Neptune "claim" or let be claimed a son that wasn't his when Rome hasn't been grateful or careful with him? His last child was scorned (i don't remember the name but it's said that they were basically blamed for earthquakes or something in the 1900)

as the series goes and percy draws MUCH MORE POWER from rivers and other liquids than from the ocean, and the time it took for percy to be born he could be powerful from both sides. he is the first demigod of Poseidon in 70+ years, but he is the first demigod rrom Neptune in 100+ !!!

it makes sense that even if he is called a greek, as his name evokes, he is connected and powerful on his Roman side. It is not a coincidence that people thought he was a god when he first arrived in Camp Jupiter.

It's a tribute for both his Roman and Greek sides, to invoke the names and fates of two powerful kings that are burdened with responsibility, and that learned and lived after their quests.

i could talk about this for hours, specially if Epic's Odysseus by Jorge Rivera-Herrans is taken in account (wich I am doing) but I will not elaborate

anyway, Percy's middle name is Ulysses and I'm right, idc.
