A few years back I’d have been saddened by this news. But they killed this show a long time ago, and I’ve waited for this announcement ever since. They milked this cash cow for too long. Bye, bye, Supernatural. You were good once. Like so many others before you, you didn’t know the time of your visitation. Rest in peace. I won’t be missing you.
My sympathies to anyone actually made any degree of sad by the Instagram announcement that the show is ending on season 15. I would never suggest the show had to end as long as other people were still enjoying it - if I keep watching beyond the point it’s fun, that’s my issue.
However. I can’t say my reaction is anything but 100% THANK FUCKING CHUCK. The great parts of the show will always exist for us to go back to and enjoy.
I hope everyone involved gets exactly the followup opportunities that they deserve for the quality of the work they delivered these last few seasons.
Jeremy January, Blue Monday* edition: Jeremy spreading awareness about Manic Depression/Bipolar Disorder. In this recording he describes the illness to encourage listeners who may be suffering to seek help. He is speaking for the Manic Depression Fellowship, now called Bipolar UK. Another resource is The Mighty: https://themighty.com/bipolar-disorder/. (I linked only to their Bipolar Disorder page, but The Mighty includes stories and information on a number of mental illnesses and other topics.)
If you are suffering, please, listen to Jeremy and talk to someone about your suffering. If you consider yourself well, please be available to listen as much as your personal capacity allows…be like Edward Hardwicke supporting his friend Jeremy by picking him up from the institution and taking him out for a meal and then home for tea. The world needs more friends like Jeremy and Edward!
*The term “Blue Monday” only recently came across my radar; it is a Monday in January (which one seems to vary by source) and is said to be the most depressing day of the year for Northern Hemisphere dwellers.
…Sharif loved gambling, so they’d invariably lose all their money at the casino. “We once did about nine months’ wages in one night”, said O’toole. “And then got up to the usual things young men get up to”. Asked by a journalist if that entailed getting up to no good O’toole gave a grin a replied “Oh, darling, do you consider it to be no good? We consider it very good indeed”
I never want to see Jensen (or Jared) pander to the Destiel/Cockles shippers again. It's not a legitimate selling point for the show, as the ratings regarding the most recent episode has demonstrated. Most regular viewers aren't shippers at all. They just want action/adventure, which SOAPernatural was once able to deliver, but no more.
Looks to me like Jensen is leaning backwards to address Singer, and is not having a “private conversation” with Misha. Angles can be misleading.
Jensen & Misha “private conversation” vs J2 private conversation. Just sayin’. ;)

This kinda looks familiar, I'm not sure it's recent? Could be wrong, though.

Upon the release of “Return of the King” in 2003, Viggo made a spontaneous and unannounced visit to Colosseum, the biggest movie theatre in Oslo, on the day of the premiere. He entered the stage, sang and read elvish poetry to the audience. Genuinely cool guy.
*HAPPY BIRTHDAY* Viggo Mortensen (10/20/1958)
“Life is short and the older you get, the more you feel it. Indeed, the shorter it is. People lose their capacity to walk, run, travel, think, and experience life. I realise how important it is to use the time I have.”
Viggo Mortensen
David Prowse will always be “Julian the bodyguard” from A Clockwork Orange to me. He even got to speak a few lines in that one.
I wonder if that high school kid who was dressed as Darth Vader was upset that they didn’t use his voice for the movie
Same!
I hate what he has done to the show I once loved.
And he managed a thing I never thought possible: I stopped watching the show.
Same. My main investment in the show has always been the relationship between the brothers, but Carver and his merry band of misfits (I’m not giving the writers a free pass regardless of Robbie ‘fanservice’ Thompson’s recent attempts at damage control, sorry) won’t quit until that bond is destroyed for good. Hey, they’re halfway there already. Contrived conflict (and teenage melodrama) is what this show currently thrives on. I was wondering when the blame game would begin, they’ve been uncharacteristically cordial this season. Fratricide in the season final? Or the (temporary) demise of another ‘fan favourite’? We’ll just blame it on the Mark and bring them back next season.
Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe they’ll come up with a plot twist that has everyone gasping in surprise. But it’s too late. Fuck you Carver, seriously. Who’d have thought that the guy responsible for one of my favorite eps in the show’s run would be the one to turn me against it?
I hope season 11 will be the last, because I think the show has been damaged beyond repair. A change of showrunner/writers won’t erase that.
Carver needs to be fired. I really really hate that guy.
I never thought the day would come when a video promoting a campaign supposedly in support of raising awareness about mental health issues would give me an anxiety attack.
Wow that new video of Misha’s is creepy as fuck.
