Mongolian history class, 2022, start of the semester. We're having a discussion on animal slaughter, featuring the one Mongolian student in our school.

The student explains that he's slaughtered animals himself, and there are two ways of doing it that avoid the spilling of blood. For a small animal like a chicken, you reach up into the chest of the animal and sever the arteries. For a larger animal like a camel, there's a spot on the forehead that, when hit hard enough, causes the animal to die instantly.

While this discussion is going on, a couple of the students are sharing something back and forth on their phone

The professor calls this out, asking if what they're sharing is more interesting than Mongolian animal slaughter

The room is dead silent for a few seconds. The two students look at each other awkwardly.

Eventually, one of the students pipes up:

"Well, the queen of England just died."

And without missing a beat, another student:

"Did they hit her on the head like a camel?"

saw a post that was like "why does the US hate Iran? Iran isn't a threat in any miitary or economic sense idgi" well if you want to ask about my life as an Iranian American & my perspectives, you could try not being racist about it at least the iranian regime is a threat to Iranians and Americans because it's a theofascist regime (but so is Israel & the US sure is trying to be) resultant from a fascist coup that itself overthrew another authoritarian regime that was itself propped up by other fascist regimes with a modern military & police state and vast fossil fuel resources so yes, there're reasons it would be perceived as a threat by another fascist regime, but you don't get a free education in my intergenerational trauma when you fucking phrase things like that, in terms of threat & worthiness or innocence of violence maybe try starting from the premise that the Iranian and American people have an enormous amount in common and are oppressed under ethnosupremacist theofascist regimes maybe be sensitive to the fact that this time last year i---and probably most diasporic Iranians and those back in the homeland who could find uncensored info--- was watching people who looked like me and my family be brutally murdered, tortured, disappeared, and CHILDREN were leading waves of protests against government forces fully empowered to execute or torture them the 2022 Jina Amini uprising was explicitly feminist, anarchistic, trans-inclusive, covid-safe, and resulted in dozens of dead cops and military officers killed because crowds of people were sick of being massacred in the streets for demanding an end to police brutality and regime violence and genocide but all you ask about are the reasons why are governments should get along, instead of the reasons why the west absolutely refused to listen to us when we begged and pleaded for them to turn out in our names as people in Iran did for George Floyd are you even aware of the titanic struggle which took place last year, the revolutionary fires that still smoulder in spite of government massacres as reprisals? do you even care about the cost of the existence of regimes like this, when you ask why regimes do not simply get along? white westerns "just asking questions" or "just sharing opinions" or "just debating" are almost always supporting genocide & they expect us, the victims, to correct them, and say, "oh no no no, of course you have it all wrong, beloved fascist, you don't know any better, let us simply rehabilitate years of indoctrination and fascistic beliefs out of you so your 'simple' question can be answered" maybe y'all should just shut the fuck up and ask fewer questions and listen to people of color when we talk last year I saw a child who looked exactly as I did at his age, but he had been murdered by the police and I cannot get the image of him, of us, out of my head meanwhile the west gave up on masking, on police abolition, on making even the smallest acts of solidarity because COVID was the first time the so-called left and so-called anarchists were inconvenienced and faced a real fucking radical revolutionary struggle in decades. y'all folded because y'all left the disabled behind to die, then sex workers & trans people, but now there's an ableist labor union movement going y'all continue to talk once again about revolution while ignoring the struggles of people of color at home and around the world, refuse to stop actively participating in the genocide of us disabled people but y'all still keep asking questions, because y'all never learn You want a better world served to you on a silver platter and you don't see anything horrifically wrong with that

How Is This Something To Brag About? Truck Drivers Shouldn't Be Working 70 Hours A Week. Overworked Truck

How is this something to brag about? Truck drivers shouldn't be working 70 hours a week. Overworked truck drivers are a danger to themselves and everyone around them. This is a reason for truck drivers to unionize and demand fewer hours, not a reason to judge people who complain about working 40.

No but seriously as I’ve gotten older I realize more and more that although white gays do face certain levels of oppression they are still white people.....like does that make sense?
