Probiotic Supplements - Yes or No?

Happy Sunday, kittens!  I hope everyone is having a good weekend and not dreading Monday too much.

So what do you all think about probiotic supplements such as Culturelle and Align?  Pros, cons, love ‘em, hate ‘em?

I am trying to eat more veggies and lean protein, and less sugar and bread. This has resulted in some, let’s say specific gastrointestinal issues, if you catch my drift.  Would something like a probiotic be beneficial in this case?

I’ve also read that fermented foods like sauerkraut are similarly beneficial for the gut.  Would those be preferable to a supplement?

As always, I appreciate all of you offering recommendations, advice, and your own experience.  This getting healthy thing is a trip, but having friends along for the ride makes it a bit easier.
