anyway I think it's rlly funny the idea that Matthieu and Alfred both love cheap box Mac and cheese (Matt way more tho, he has issues); and François is just HORRIFIED by it. Like they bring the little microwave cups to a world meeting for lunch, heat them up, and suddenly François just comes barreling in and smacks it out of their hands.

They're both like, really confused bc "you're the one who got us hooked on Mac & cheese???" and he flips bc "No! I got you obsessed with GOOD Macaroni and Cheese, not this!"

What if Janet went into Labor with Tim during a Wayne gala and Bruce helped deliver him, but Bruce didn’t realize Tim was the same baby

Until a random stakeout/confrontation with a villain/league meeting, he remembers suddenly and just straight up goes

“I birthed you”

He then starts to think back to all the other women he helped and like...

– Teenage Bruce stopping in the middle of his day to help Mary Grayson call the hospital when her water breaks in public

– His first test of people skills as Batman is looking after Sandra Wu-San, not knowing she'd become Lady Shiva

– A short while later Batman does the same for Sheila Haywood because Willis didn't bother to show up

– Arthur Brown being too absorbed in his scandals and early scheming to be present so Batman swoops in for Crystal

– Then Janet Drake going into labor at a Wayne gala and Bruce helping her through that

– Couple years later, Batman keeping Elaine Thomas company in the twilight hours

– He stops to help Talia amidst a dangerous battle, not knowing the baby is his and her maintaining the secret

– He gets sidetracked on a time travel mission and assists a stranger, not realizing it's Mary Pennyworth

The joke that the bats see their contingency plans as a form of love is super fucking funny, don't get me wrong but honestly they probably do see it as that cause they just forget to say the second part out loud.

"after I've taken you down, obviously I'd find whatever made you like this and then find the cure."

They come from gotham where mind altering substances are basically everywhere. One of the most profound ways a gothamite could say 'i care about you' is admitting to having a plan to disarm/capture you in the case you go off the deep end, so that they could then get you a cure.

Unfortunately for the bats, no one else thinks like that cause what the actual fucks guys

An AU in which Jason, upon returning to Gotham, gets really swept up into the whole crime lord thing, and never gets the time to go through with his revenge plan.

It starts small. He comes back and gets to work, and after a while, he has managed to carve out some of the crime from crime alley. This gets him noticed among some of the people there. One night, a group of thugs approach him, but instead of wanting to fight him, they want to work for him.

Jason, still fresh, with not much revenue coming for him yet, tells them that he isn't hiring because he cannot exactly pay them much. The thugs say that it doesn't matter, because they like what he is doing, and would like to be in on it anyway, and, well. If Jason has help managing other things, he can dedicate more time on his bigger plan, right?

Wrong. Things start to move much quicker now, and that means that more people come in and want to work for him. At this point Jason has money coming in, and he starts paying them, too, which makes more people come in, which in turn makes more money to come in as well. Jason can pay them more, and suddenly he notices a difference in many of the goons he has on his roster now. They seem happier. They joke more, many of them have better clothes on them, and they don't look so gaunt anymore, either.

Jason asks about it, once, and the goon tells him that they have had the money to buy actual groceries and new pair of boots, which makes living a lot more comfortable. They even got to buy their kid a new winter jacket! Now, if they save up a little bit, they will be able to get their kid new school books as well!

And Jason, Crime Alley boy Jason, who loved school and reading, feels his heart strings being violently yanked. Don't worry about the books, he says. I will take care of it.

At the end of the month, he has managed to organise a book delivery system for all the Crime Alley kids, where they get school books and picture books and science books about dinosaurs and angient Egypt and all that. He tells his goons that for every kid that stays in school for the semester, he will give them a bonus.

It works wonders. The amount of kids dropping out from school gets cut by 60 percent just during the first semester. The book system grows, and suddenly Jason finds himself pushing some money to get the old local library running again, to make things a bit easier. He even hires some people to run the system for him. Suddenly, he is like actually employing people. He needs an accountant. He hires one for himself, and then another one to run other funds.

Things just keep escalating after that. Local parent group starts to have meetings in the new library, and they put up a babysitting club and start a clothes exhange program as well, where you can bring all the clothes that are too small for you, and people get to take what they need home. A soup kitchen starts as well, first because the kids need snacks, and then it grows so much that Jason needs to find a place for it to run effectively and safely. Many local restaurants get into it as well, and their business starts to rise as well, because people who are fed and have warm clothes have more time and energy to seek for jobs. Many of them are still employed within just Crime Alley, though, because jobs elsewhere require an adress, and some people don't have those.

Jason thinks about himself, after his parents died, on the streets, trying to survive, and thinks never again. He tells his accountant to start budgeting for housing.

He needs to hire more people for it. He needs to run his crime empire, after all, he doesn't have the time for this.

He has so many people working for him now. There are a few thugs that were previously employed by other Gotham Rogues coming in as well, because they have heard good things about the Red Hood. The other Rogues are in and out of the prison or Arkham all the time and the pay isn't reliable and there is a high chance that you will get beaten up by one of the bats as well, and they don't really get offered medical services by their bosses, you know?

There's another thing. Jason now has to organize people to get first aid-training. And also get some sort of vaccination program going. And also get everybody dental.

It's all getting too much for him, really. He doesn't even have a high school diploma.

He mentions this to one of his goons one night, because they said that he looked stressed. Don't worry boss! The goon tells him. We will take care of things, if you want to go back to school! It would be a good example, too, for the older kids, who are still dropping out more than the little kids, you know?

So Jason goes back to school. God he loves school. He barely even thinks about his revenge plan anymore, because he is busy running his programs and studying and making plans with his goons.

He gets his diploma and then starts a community college so people can get degrees.

He then runs into an entirely new problem. The people look up to him, especially the kids. And now the kids also want to help him.

Jason, the second Robin, the bird with clipped wings, tells them no. Absolutely not. You are kids, go back to school, your bedtime is at nine.

He cannot control the older teens, though. They just tell him to fuck off and accept the help. Now train us, so we can start running the more specialized missions too. You can't be the only person jumping on rooftops. If you don't train us, we will do it anyway, dipshit. We ain't scared of you.

And suddenly Jason has his own vigilante team with him. His workers are unionizing. Some of them are actually running for the city council to get things addressed that need to be done the legal way. Crime rates have dropped by 70 percent around Crime Alley.

They can't really call it Crime Alley anymore, can they? It's Park Row again.

The bats are extremely confused by the new team. The Hoods, they call themselves. All of them with a red bat painted on their chests and fighting in an eerily similar manner to them.

Jason is not there on Thursdays. He is busy getting his English degree.

Ok, do you know how much I love the idea of Bruce and Hal being married before Hal becomes Green Lantern? BECAUSE I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! I've literally thought about secret batlantern marriages FOREVER. Because of that, I apologize in advance for the long message. 🙂❤️

Ok, but imagine bringing the kids into the family..... Since Hal is gone for like a month or two on assignment I feel like Brice would just see Dick, and with no one there to stop him, he'd just say "mine" and like forget to tell Hal (or "forget" cuz he's scared Hal would say no) and then Hal comes home and sees Dick and is like. Who tf are you? Like where did you come from? How did you get into my house? And then Dick would just be excited to meet Hal, cause you CAN NOT tell me that Bruce wouldn't gush like a school girl with a crush about Hal (when he's prompted correctly). And thus begins the adoptions that just happen when Hal is on month long assignments.

He comes back from space tired, ready to lay down and just be with family, and boom Jason. Then he finds out Bruce is like the worst at communicating when someone's not there to interpret for him. (The relationship between Bruce and Dick is slowly healed by Hal literally just saying, "That 'hm' means he was worried, that running off to fight thugs in dark alleys ALONE and WITHOUT A COMMUNICATOR really worried him and him sewing a tracker into your suit isn't fully about control, it's really more about needing to find you if that happens again. WHICH IT SHOULD NOT!") Hal would be able to bond with Jason over losing one parent and then it's like the other fell apart. (Obviously they had VERY different upbringings, Jason lived on the streets and Hal had shelter and a kinda support system (idk I think that since Hal was really close to his dad and looked more like him (?) His mom like could not stand to really be around him. But she still loved him, like they just really had a complicated relationship, but then he told him family he wanted to join the air force and suddenly it was like the support system and shelter and love that had been there dried up and he went through the airforce and the everything alonr until he met Bruce.) Anyway, I think that he'd have a pretty good relationship with both Dick and Jason. And that in one of the months where a galaxy ending disaster wasn't happening would be when Jason finds out about Shelia and the whole trust fallout between Bruce and Jason happened. So once again Hal plays the mediator once again and before he's called away again, Jason takes Bruce to Ethiopia with him. (Hal isn't there for the fallout, for the injuries that Jason sustained. He's not even able to be contacted due to how far out he's had to go. It takes him 2 months to come home.)

He returns, and Tim's there. Tim who is apparently not adopted yet, as he is Jason's new friend. He finds his son with randome child #3 in his house helping Jason up the stairs. Jason who has a thick cast on his leg and a cast on his arm with bandages peaking out from his collar. (I think Hal would have like a beak down with Bruce about not being there. Like he has a ring. He was called away a day before everything went down, and he could have prevented the almost crippling of his child, he could have supported his husband and children as they all basically came to the realization that no matter who they fight, how they fight, who they fight with no one really lives forever.) Hal takes leave from the Coorps as long as he can, going back to work for Ferris Air (or Wayne Enterprise's airplane engineering department whatever you want). They slowly pull Tim into the family, learning more and more about the neglect and abuse he's lived through. After a lot, a LOT of lawyer fees, Tim is able to stay with the Waynes permanently. But like all good things, Hals time with his family comes to an end. He returns to space this time with a transmitter that can cover the distance of the universe if it needs to.

Hal's return to the family for the next couple years are uneventful. Until Damians arrival. Damian who begins his life at Wayne Manor with the attempted murder of Tim. And another attempted murder of Tim. And another attempted murder of Tim. A kinda attempted murder of Dick, but one could argue he was just being annoying. Hal's return to the Manor brings the order that they had been lacking. (I kinda think that since Hal grew up in a military household he's a stricter parent. Like he'd definitely be a duper fun parent, take the kids out on adventures and have a great time with them when he can/could but there would be rules that he like 100% would not let up on. Like patrol on a school night ends at 11:30 and if not they're grounded from patrol for the next two nights. Bruce would probably be strict too, but more so in the field. Like the kids could look at him and call him dad and he would break like a piece of angel hair spaghetti.) Anyway, Hal would be able to support Bruce through the idea and fact that he'd been raped. I think Hal and Bruce would have separately gone through a LOT of therapy and like couples therapy too. Not just sprung on by the arrival of Damian, but because Hal had kind of forced Bruce into it after his overprotective nature had pushed Dick away. It might have started as a way to learn better communication, but it ended in Bruce staying with his doctor at Hal's recommendation. (read: Hal noticed Bruce's better regulation of feelings and coping mechanisms and forced him to continue to go to therapy.) Anyway, I think Hal would have a good relationship with Damian, against all the odds. Hal would be the structured support and rules that Damian had grew up with and had been missing since coming to Wayne Manor. Leaving after Damian was a difficult trip. But staying wasn't an option, his departure was just as hard as all the others.

Cass' addition to the family would've taken Hal off guard, if he hadn't been informed. (Communication coming in clutch!) In meeting Hal, Cass had not trusted him. He held himself too wrong, too ridged, too frozen, too similar to her father. Her fear and suspicion had melted away the moment she saw him with Bruce and the other children. His eyes lit up, and his previous tension relaxed. It was in that moment that she knew she what she wanted. Cass and Tim almost immediately became inseparable. The ride or die kind of relationship that they shared led their siblings and parents alike to fear the combined power. Hal's rules practically doubled when they were together, should they plan or go for world domination, Bruce would be the one to deal with it.

As for Bruce and Hal's relationship. I think in the beginning they were very secretive. Bruce had suddenly returned to Gotham and subsequent take over of Wayne Enterprises had Bruce trying to keep the little privacy he had left under wraps. Hal had agreed wholeheartedly to keep the relationship a secret, knowing that once the news eventually reached his family there would be no more quietly whispered scheduled calls between himself and his brothers. No more sporadic text messages between him and his mother. No more shreds of the family he had clung to since being kicked out at 18. Over time, as more and more kids came into their lives the secritiveness of their relationship became too much to keep up with, it wasn't secret secret anymore, however it was a very private relationship. No one in Gotham/media knew they were together, however they weren't actively hiding it anymore. They just didn't advertise that they were together. As for the Justice League, Batman never joined. The Green Lanturns involvement in a organization of superheros was practically informed when the Coorps inevitably found out about it, however, Bruce never found it to be necessary to involve himself in the League, excluding large scale events where he and the rest of the family would make themselves known.

I think in the inevitably that they are found out, the news would break to the media first. A mistyped photo catching them kissing just outside of the gates of the manor or in a coffee shop on the edge of the Diamond District and suddenly the gossip rags of the city, and the major news conglomerates of the surrounding cities are blasting the news of Brucie Wayne's new relationship! With the subsequent findings of Bruce Wayne's new boy toy (suddenly found out to be HUSBAND!) Hal Jordan, a decorated Air Force veteran now working as a test pilot, while not in active duty, still working to preserve the lives of his friends and family. With his reveal to the public, Hal's relationship is revealed to the Justice League. And thus, the integration of the Batfamily into the Justice League begins.

Ok!!! So that was really long. Wayyyyy longer than I thought, but thank you for letting me share!!!! Anything I'm missing or you want to add would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for sharing their secret marriage, because I'm not going to lie, I've literally been thinking about this forever!!! Ok have a great day, thank you again!

Hi omg every concept you mentioned here is so interesting! I zoomed in so hard on "Jason lives" aspect especially, I’m so intrigued. I can totally see the “a death in the family” storyline having a different outcome if the family dynamic was different, but the sheer pain potential of Hal considering Jason a son and returning from space only to find out he died months ago… oh my god… (maybe I’m writing something about that very premise. Who knows.) Hal doesn’t play favourites doesn’t play favourites of course, but  like you said there is definitely an unspoken bond between Jason and Hal.

I also understand surprisingly strict parent Hal, but I can totally see it in a more “You guys need to have regular lives outside of vigilante stuff and I am going to set some rules so that you can have that because we know Mr. Bat Suit over here doesn’t know what that even means.” so he takes them to sports games and movies and makes sure they have their homework done. “Please go and hang out with your friends or you’re grounded.” “What.” “Here I will literally give you money, just go to the mall and don’t fight anyone.”

And OH BOY. Damian. Let’s be real, Damian probably would have tried to kill Hal too if he was there when he arrived. What a mess that would be, Hal stay in space for a second dude. But anyways Hal and Damian’s dynamic is one of my faves to read fics about, I love the idea of Damian (post murder attempts) adoring Hal. Again, Hal would try his hardest to give Damian a normal childhood. I would also really like to see a fic where Bruce worked through what happened to him and how it resulted in a son and the very complex feelings that come with that.

Also? The concept of the bat family not joining the justice league but being Hal’s back up is so funny. Messing with the Green Lantern and expecting him to call the corps but no, his back up is a bunch of over protective bats. Good luck!

I HAVE FINISHED :D

I HAVE FINISHED :D

yeah their all red eared sliders, I got inspired by @draconicdeityarts

Various Yugi, Yami, and puzzleship headcanons because one I'm too busy to draw much, and two I wanted to write a little something for myself, just for fun. And you get to see them too (• 3 •) :

Yami’s transition from vengeful vigilante to kind-hearted yet prideful pharaoh was rocky to say the least. Not understanding and not quite willing to accept Yuugi’s kindness, most of his attempts to understand his newfound life was filled with stone-cold faces, confused stares, and offended petulance. But Yuugi is equally stubborn in helping his new friend acclimatize to being human again, so he does his best to teach him, even if not everything he does is successful.

Yami, despite loving Yuugi, doesn’t worship the ground his partner walks on. Instead he sees a person who’s gone through hardship, being lonely and bullied, and still somehow smiling at the end of it, and it amazes him as much as it confuses him. He’s unsure how to proceed with a person who seems so contradictory. Though with time, he recognizes Yuugi's inner strength and resolves to help Yuugi see what he himself saw in his partner.

Yuugi will never admit it, but whenever he gets the chance to become “the strong one” and help Yami out for a change, it gives him a heady feeling that rivals anything he’s felt before. For once, he gets to protect others, something he never gets to do, and plus, he’s protecting the one person who protects everyone else. He, the tiny and small Yuugi Mutou, protecting Yami no Yuugi, the hero! He finally gets the chance to be “the lead” almost, and it brings him greater joy than any other. Ofc he doesn't flaunt it, but it's definitely something he feels and to a degree feels ashamed about. Though he lets himself be arrogant, just a teeny tiny bit.

To Yami though, Yuugi becomes very vigilant and constant in looking out for him, something he does appreciate exclusively from Yuugi when he can no longer stand on his own.

In terms of love, the spirit only knows it in theory. He loves his partner, he cares for his friends, he loves his home of Egypt, and he loves his priests and his people. But the kind of love where two people love each other, is less foreign and more of unsure territory for him. He recognizes it’s a love that goes beyond what he’s felt for anyone else, but doesn’t know how to approach it. Much less appreciate it.

Yuugi meanwhile, understands love very well. He’s yearned for it for years, and finally feels it for Yami, his partner and dear spirit. He hides it of course, the world is more important than his feelings, but when it’s all over and he gets the chance to act on them, his desperate heart won’t let him be so selfless. He enjoys and revels in teaching Yami the many ways one could love, as to him, it shows just how much he loves Yami in turn. But he’s equally patient about it, taking it step by step. Sometimes, he’s so gentle that Yami gets impatient, but Yami’s equally weak to his partner’s tenderness, especially when it’s geared towards him.

Their relationship isn’t fueled by something as small as one’s appearance, nor did it ever start from it. But when those moments come, Yuugi can feel his breath be stolen by Yami’s visage, or Yami blinking when he sees how the light refracts in Yuugi’s eyes. Still, they appreciate each other’s appearance and take full advantage to do so, especially when having separate bodies. They appreciate them as they entirely are, and not for singular details.

Yuugi likes squeezing Yami’s butt. There isn’t much there, but whatever he gets, he gropes. Yami’s since then no longer bothered to scold him, only giving him a mild glare and blush whenever he does it. Though he always somehow knows when to smack Yuugi’s hand away when they’re out in public events.

Neither are comfortable to sleep on because they’re quite lanky, even if Yami came back in Atem’s body (trust me, if he really is all muscle then those are rocks dude, not pillows) So instead Yugi and Yami both like taking a pillow and just putting it on themselves so the other can sleep on them.

Atem, when alive, was a well-meaning king. A little spoiled, since he was such a golden boy, but overall, a good-natured king. He often listens out to his people, gets into quarrels with Seth because of his seemingly soft nature, and tries to be equal in his sense of judgement. But it never changes the fact that he was a young king, and there was much he had left to learn by the time Kul Elna’s history was revealed. These lessons unfortunately, he would never know, not until 3000 years later.

When Yami/Atem comes back, he doesn’t come back fully human. Being locked in an ancient artifact with the remnants of darkness incarnate changes you. So while he looks human, he still holds control over the shadows and is as much of their slave as he was their master. The only difference is that the shadows don’t scream anymore, and are more or less docile unless Yami riles them up. And they don’t hurt him anymore, so that’s pretty good too.

bruce being a flawed dad and fucking up so many times while raising dick but dick insisting on seeing the good in him first and to help him is so UGHHHH

"because of dick grayson bruce wayne became a better man" is so incredibly true man. dick grayson is an incredible human being and his "help first not punish" attitude he demonstrates with many but most notably bruce. dick truly changed him for the better and AND AND

oughh i could talk for hours but their dislogue at alfred's grave in issue 100 of nightwing, log entry BT-70 from bruce in gotham knights and episode 80 of wayne family adventures all sum it all up pretty well

it’s almost midnight but i am here on Tumblr Dot Com to let everyone know that a fantastic and underused trope is “uses terms of endearment only when under huge amounts of stress.”

Like some character is fairly formal or is just not a pet names person but then they get a panicked phone call from a loved one and the first words out of their mouth are “Sweetheart, what happened?”

Team “I-only-ever-use-your-first-name” going “Oh, jesus fuck, love, I’m so glad you’re safe” or “Okay, darling, you know I love you but I need some space to fix this giant mess” and everyone around them is like “oh god we have reached Pet Names Level Bad, that’s not good”

this is the new trope I am championing, I would like it to be the Hot New Thing

I like to think about young Dick Grayson a lot, and right now I'm specifically thinking about him from the Justice League's perspective.

Like, imagine you're in the Justice League, maybe you've been there for a few months, maybe for a few years, but either way, you know how it works. Superman's terrifyingly powerful, but you get over the fear factor as soon as you see him cry over a sad cat video, and Wonder Woman's still a bit intimidating, but as long as you're good and truthful, you can trust that she won't crush your head like a grape.

And Batman... well, you've made your peace with the fact that you'll never figure him out. You know literally nothing about him, other than the fact that he claims to be fully human, but you're not even really sure about that, because you're pretty sure he just materializes in the shadows sometimes. The only things that you're 100% sure of is that you're terrified of him, and you're so glad that he's not on someone else's side.

And then, suddenly, he has acquired a child. Just like everything else, you don't find out immediately, because god forbid that man tell his team anything. But you start to hear vague reports of another shadow trailing behind Batman in the night. Superman asks him about it one day, but of course, he doesn't respond, and they all wonder, but it never gets brought up again.

But one day, unexpectedly, that shadow is at a league meeting, and he's not as shadowy as you would have thought. In fact, he's wearing the most vibrant costume you've seen, and you spend all of your time with other heroes in spandex. He's also young. Terrifyingly young. It's his twelfth birthday, actually, he explains to the league, and he pestered 'B' until he agreed to take him to a meeting. You all agree later that he looks younger than twelve. And you worry about him, because why is this child in Batman's care? Can he really be trusted to look after someone so small, so young, so seemingly fragile?

Besides, Robin (Robin, his name is Robin, he's a songbird for christ's sake), is everything that you'd think Batman would hate. He talks everyone's ear off with a giant grin stretched across his entire face. He begs Superman to fly him around and cackles and claps as Wonder Woman demonstrates basic sword maneuvers for him. Before long, the whole team is in a better mood. Meanwhile, Batman stands in the shadows, his face impassive, with no explanation about the little masked boy that walked into the room hiding under his cape.

He leaves just as he came, disappearing under Batman's cape as the two exit the watchtower together, and the whole league is left to wonder how the fuck that child ended up in Batman's care, and whether or not they should intervene, because spending prolonged time in Batman's company cannot be healthy for a child.

But then he starts showing up more and more, popping up in some places that you know from Batman's glare he's not supposed to be. He's teamed up with that speedster boy and the two of them cause havoc, but Robin takes the lecture he gets with a grin and gives a half hearted promise to behave.

You steadily start to realize that he might not be as out of place in Batman's company as you originally thought. You realize that the boy is a performer through and through, and that extends to that grin of his that dazzled the team when they first met him. You get the impression that sometimes its genuine, yes, but you'd never know if it wasn't. His exuberance is a persona held in place as meticulously as Batman's grim seriousness.

And though you'd assumed that Batman's sidekick (partner, the boy insisted, rather intensely, though his smile never faltered) would be well trained, this kid could take down league members, you're sure. You quickly realize that he enjoys fighting, and he fights viciously, giggling and putting on a show, but leaving broken bones in his wake. Your first impression is that Robin was more human than the demon they called the Batman, but you quickly start to question that too. If Batman can materialize in shadows, then Robin can fly. He twists through the air like gravity doesn't affect him and lands with so much grace that you'd think he had hollow bones like his namesake. You're not fully convinced he doesn't, considering he climbs up the bat with no warning, clinging onto his back like he belongs there (you quickly start to think he does), or he'll throw himself through the air with no more warning than a quick 'catch' yelled to his partner. And Batman catches him. Batman always catches him. Everyone keeps an eye on him when he's up high, but there's a part of you that feels like it's impossible that he'd ever fall. Or at least, impossible that Batman would ever let him hit the ground.

And you start to think that Robin's exactly where he's supposed to be; perched on Batman's shoulder, hiding in his cape, or fighting by his side. You still hope there's a normal boy behind the mask, going to school and making friends with someone to tuck him in at night, but you also can't imagine anything normal about Robin, and maybe that's why he needs to be by Batman's side, and maybe that's why Batman needs him too.
