why aren't you posting more song analysis?

Thanks for the message anon!

I hesitate a lot when stating my views due to it being part of the minority on tumblr. (I'm one of those who believe J+P had an explicit love affair), to interpret their songs, I view it from that standpoint....

English is my third language and it takes a bit of work because if you interpret one song, it is usually interconnected with other songs.

Can't Buy Me Love and I Feel Fine as an example. I've always wondered why John was staring at Paul in the beginning of the "I Feel Fine" music video "Baby's good to me, you know", then it kinda clicked, that he might be replying to Paul's song (oh, there she goes, reaching):

Why Aren't You Posting More Song Analysis?

In "Can't Buy Me Love" Paul wrote:

I'll buy you a diamond ring my friend If it makes you feel alright I'll get you anything my friend If it makes you feel alright

(very friend coded indeed and then, the question "if it makes you feel alright?" John answers with his song "I Feel Fine".)

In "I Feel Fine" John wrote:

She's so glad, she's telling all the world That her baby buys her things, you know He buys her diamond rings, you know

(John is telling the story in 3rd person "that she's being treated right", the boys were harmonizing on the "I'm in love with her and I feel fine" which is the lover's answer to the girl's claim).

I FIND JOHN AND PAUL ADORABLE ANSWERING EACH OTHER LIKE THIS

I wish I could share more of my views. But I'm scared to be labelled delusional as it is and be asked for receipts to claims I am not ready to show yet....

'Well, let's just say there's someone in the music industry--a fairly famous someone--and he's pretty certain it [Starting Over] was written for Paul, and that Paul damn well knew it was...but that in the wake of John's death most everyone thought it would be disrespectful to Yoko and Sean to dispute who John had in mind while writing it. We were talking about it after an email correspondence I started having with a friend here who says she believes it was as well. I agreed with her. So, being my curious self, I just had to ask around, and that's the information I got. Whether it's totally 100% or not, I can't say. But hearing about it from this guy in particular was enough to confirm my belief that it was. It's not only his opinion but something that seems to be pretty well known amongst a lot of industry folks. We talked about it at great length and honestly, I was a bit surprised it was something he feels so strongly about....as well as their relationship, in general. When I told him straight out at first that I thought they were a 'couple', he said, "Well, no shit! Anybody who thinks otherwise has to be a fucking idiot!" I thought that was funny as hell! Not to bash the nay-sayers round these parts, but this guy isn't one to mince words and I'm just repeating what he said so don't go yellin' at me. Couldn't help laughing when he said it. And he knows a LOT of people in the business. Far more than I could ever dream of encountering...'cause he's quite a bit older than me and way more experienced in these circles. He used to be a session player ages ago and branched out on his own a long ways back....so he's definitely been AROUND and knows his shit when it comes to the 'who's who' of the music world and all the dirt that gets turned up at its surface. I trust him totally or else I wouldn't be so certain he's right about the stuff he says. He even said that the 'recording-style' and vocal effects used on that song, in particular, are what John specifically wanted in order to send a certain message to Paul." ------------------------------------------------

This is a comment made by a woman in an old forum, who said she spoke to an industry insider. I have read many similar comments (and I myself have been in contact with someone who claimed to have spoken to a couple of people who were once close to the Beatles) that have said that John and Paul's relationship was an open secret in the music industry. Maybe that's why Howard Stern is often asking Paul a lot of uncomfortable questions about John, and even suggested that "Maybe I'm Amazed" was written for John, lol.

With apologies to Fleetwood Mac fans, who probably knew all this: I was just thinking about how Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours” is one of the greatest albums of the 20th century and yet I somehow consume Fleetwood Mac like normal people presumably consume media, ie I have listened to them to death but know nothing about them. Ten minutes later was in a deep dive about how apparently their early guitarist, Jeremy Spencer, left the band to join mad cult The Family/Children of God — like, okay?? — and found this ASTONISHING piece of fanfiction (at least it seems a complete departure from reality) he apparently wrote in the early 90s: https://www.xfamily.org/images/a/a8/TSM2_Jeremy_Spencer-s_Traumatic_Testimony.pdf

The salient bit:

"I encountered one of the most shocking examples of gross Sodomy when I was in Fleetwood Mac. Mick Fleetwood's wife & the woman who was George Harrison's wife at that time were sisters. (George Harrison was the guitarist of the Beatles.) Often these sisters would go together to the big parties that the Beatles threw. One morning while I was talking to Mick, his wife came into the room & was bragging about the party she had gone to the night before & how groovy it was & said that Eric & Paul & George were having a "scene" on the couch. (A "scene" meant having sex together.) That meant that Eric Clapton, George Harrison & Paul McCartney (famous rock singers) were having a homosexual threesome on the couch! I was shocked! I looked at Mick Fleetwood & he said, "What's wrong with you? What's the matter with you?" I said, "That's disgusting! I don't think that's right!" He said, "Come on! I wouldn't mind having a 'scene' with Eric, George & Paul!"

Absolute scenes tbh. It’s the COMBINATION which gets me. McClapison. WHY

I Wanted To Know What Paul's Looking So Lovingly At On The Back Of Their Cover So I Recreated His Hand

I wanted to know what Paul's looking so lovingly at on the back of their cover so I recreated his hand placement and this is approximately where his left hand is pointing at.

I Wanted To Know What Paul's Looking So Lovingly At On The Back Of Their Cover So I Recreated His Hand

Here is a clean copy for my John girlies:

Genuinely surprised if you haven't come across these quotes from the following YouTube videos yet: "The woman who saved Paul McCartney | 60 Minutes Australia" @6:25 & "Paul McCartney sets record straight on relationship with Lennon | Parkinson Interview 12 Oct 1997" @22:20. Seems to me like Paul's literally admitted he's not straight already and I'm living for it even if it flew under the radar

“Did he love you?”

“Yeah, I think he did actually. It wasn’t a spiky relationship at all, it was very warm, very close, and very loving.....homosexuality was still largely illegal sure...but then the business came and the lawyers arrived...”

PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS I’M MELTING - 22:20
