A Few Of Louis XIV’s Favourite Things

This shocked me.

As a singer and musician who has a masters degree, I was shocked by this! I don’t think that many of you fully grasp what V was talking about with the chickens at the end of the the Run Ep. 29-Behind the Scenes.

He’s speaking about where on the piano… what NOTE the chickens are hitting when they cry!  Just by listening, he’s guessing what notes their hitting.

AND HE GETS IT RIGHT!

He’s talking about solfege… like in the song from Sound of Music: Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do, singing a scale.  Middle C on the piano is C4, the fourth octave.  So when he says the 6th Octave, that means 2 Octaves above the fourth which would be High C.  If he’s starting on C being Do… then 6th Octave Mi would be a high E… WHICH WHEN I CHECKED IS ACTUALLY WHAT SOME OF THE HIGHER NOTES WERE THAT THE CHICKENS WERE CRYING!  Fifth Octave Sol would be a G sitting at the top of the staff in Trebel Clef (if going by this same thinking) and is only slightly lower than some of the lower pitches the chickens were crying.

Do you realize how good of an ear you have to have to guess that!?  Do you know that there are college music students who can’t figure out what the pitch is just by listening?  DO YOUR REALIZE HOW FRICKIN SMART THIS BOY IT!?!?!?!  TO BE GUESSING THE NOTES THE CHICKENS ARE SINGING!??!!

sometimes I think about how people in europe (and esp france and spain) didn’t fucking bathe back in the middle ages to avoid sexual thoughts and I just. Imagine aph france and spain never living down how absolutely revolting they used to smell. Humans at least had to bathe when it became a medical problem or an emergency but nations don’t really have medical issues like that? So theoretically they can get away with being way nastier for way longer. Imagine russia, whose people did bathe, visiting frace with his delegates and being like wtf? are you dying? what’s wrong with you? Imagine germany one day admitting to italy that he sometimes feels awkward interacting with france because he’s so suave and crisp and clean and germany feels like he always smells a little of sweat and dirt. Italy just chokes on his coffee and is like omg don’t even worry about it he’s absolutely the last person alive that could possibly judge you for how you smell holy shit

List of things I wished they would've included in Turn

-John Laurens -Lafayette sucking at dancing -Lafayette crying at John Andre’s hanging and Hamilton trying to defend John Andre by saying he’s too beautiful to be hanged -Flashbacks of Ben and Nathan -Lafayette and George taking a nap after the battle of Monmouth -the duel between John Laurens and Charles Lee -Baron von Steuben -the fucking way Baron von Steuben came into the fucking camp like some sort of god -Baron von Steuben falling in love with Benjamin Walker -FLASHBACKS OF BEN AND NATHAN -the time everyone thought Hamilton died and then he stood in the doorway dripping wet -Scenes with Lafayette, Hamilton and Laurens doing things that actually happened like pushing their beds together or spending whole nights on the grass outside and just talking about politics -just the three of them being besties -JOHN LAURENS!!!!

I mean there are obviously more things and probably more important things but this the stuff they easily could have included on the show.
