Concept: If Yosano was Atsushi’s mentor.

-In the infirmary-

Atsushi: Really Dr Yosano, I’ll be fine. I’m just escorting Ranpo to his case and we both know I won’t be long.

Yosano: I know but I can’t help but worry. I take one eye off you and trouble seems to find you.

Atsushi, quietly: I’m sorry for worrying you.

Yosano, frowns: Don’t be. You know, it’s the job of every doctor to worry about the people that have been entrusted with her to care for.

She smiles.

Yosano: I worry about you because I care.

Atsushi, smiles: I know, I’ll try not to find trouble.

Yosano: See you’re already doing a better job that Ranpo.

Ranpo, from the office: Heard that!

Yosano, calls back: You were supposed too!

Atsushi chuckles at their antics but stops when he sees Yosano’s expression become more serious.

Yosano: But if anyone gives you trouble or makes you feel afraid. Take those lovely tiger teeth of yours and go for their throat.

Atsushi: The throat?!

Yosano: Mhm mmhm and don’t let go until their body stops moving.

Atsushi, sweat drops:…I don’t think I’ll do that but I’ll keep it in mind.

Yosano, chuckles: Well if you can’t you have my number so just give me a call.

She smirks dangerously.

Yosano: And I’ll take care of them.

Atsushi having childish emotional outbursts. I hate to be ooc I really do but I'm just thinking, with his (extremely) rough upbringing, he wasn't exactly given the opportunity to mature in that regard. So what if one day Dazai and Kunikida were pestering him that he already doesn't eat enough, that he can't skip lunch break and has to eat something. And what if Atsushi doesn't want to. He doesn't want to eat. They can't make him. The harder they push, the more upset he gets, until sweet Atsushi has slit pupils, sharpened nails and his actually raising his voice at them. He storms away and slams the Agency door shut behind him on his way out, leaving the two detectives flabbergasted. It being Kenji or Yosano who join him where he's holed himself up on the roof and let him explain what happened.

What if Atsushi doesn't want that checkup today. What if he doesn't care his shirt has a bloodstain, what if he doesn't want to take it off. What if he doesn't want to. Even though all of them almost certainly know better, what if Atsushi doesn't want to eat lunch that day.
