a talking point i often see when defending the consumption of dark content is that itโs a coping mechanism for those with trauma which is very valid and true but i also want to make this abundantly clear: you can like dark content for no reason. you can enjoy fucked up shit in fiction because itโs enjoyable and entertaining. trauma is not required as a ticket for entry. enjoy your dark content bc itโs fun and sexy and donโt let anyone take that away from you
ive been on a okegom kick lately
You gotta love how it only took an episode for Vi to get over her angst phase and immediately be all "Let's settle down and raise our daughter together in the hippy commune!" with Jinx.
Also big respect to Isha. Sometimes a family is just an adopted mute girl, her two sister-mums, and her werewolf grandad. And she'll do anything for them. That's beautiful.
Why are people still denying that Andrew Graves is a bad person, and always has been in nearly every way just like his little baby sister? Should I list examples from 3a decay?
Was it when he back handed Ashley? Or watching her get undressed through a keyhole? Was it when he admitted he didn't like anyone and never has with the exception of Ashley, and his only perogative has always been keeping up with appearances? Was it when he admitted he thought about knocking Julia's teeth out, so she would give better head? Or was it shamelessly murdering a child as a full grown man? Or when he beat Ashley senseless and then kissed her shortly after?
"But wahh wahha mean Ashley Graves forced Andrew's hand! He's a little baby victim!!!"
Can it and just admit you want to self insert yourself with a cute lil emo boy.
Sisterly love am I right or am I right
people will indulge in media that has the most fucked up twisted and problematic stories with unredeemable characters then proceed to turn around and say dni proshippers
Too much of the fandom really likes Renee. I hate her. I can understand that people find her attractive, because she is, but I canโt stand her. Obviously each to their own, and I can acknowledge that if you donโt particularly like both Andrew and Ashley you will find Reneeโs actions less hate-able. This is just my thoughts shoved into text format. Sorry for any errors.
Abuse of Andrew
โแข. .แขโ Renee made Andrew into a parent for Ashley, which in turn didnโt allow him to have a proper childhood. Itโs also teased in the Episode 3 trailer that thereโs rumours of incest between the siblings around school which is no doubt stemmed from the two being forced in such close proximities due to the mother and fathers neglect. This more than likely affected a lot of Andrewโs social life, pushing him towards other women to โproveโ he isnโt โlike thatโ, which isnโt particularly healthy for a teen boy.
โแข. .แขโ Renee and the father are likely the cause of Andrewโs anxiety in fear of pissing her off, or generally bothering her. Andrew represses his true feelings so he can please his parents, Both parents seem to brush off any concerns Andrew has, making him internalise his feelings and not seek any mental or emotional support for what he is going through.
Abuse of Ashley
โโ แข..แขโ Renee forcing Andrew to be Ashleyโs caretaker tore away any form of other support network for the young girl. This is clearly shown with how she struggles to make friends and genuine connections with others outside of Andrew, seen with Julia and Nina. It is also why she never sought out support for herself, Renee would never get help for her clearly neurodivergent or somewhere on the ASPD spectrum, so Ashley in turn also did not.
โโ แข..แขโ Renee not allowing Ashley to have birthdays may seem like a small and insignificant detail but it speaks volumes of what she was like as a parent to me. She never allowed to have nice things and Renee made sure of that. Or didnโt. She didnโt care enough to even check up in the girl, probably didnโt even remember her birthday.
โโ แข..แขโ Renee calling her a problem and an annoyance, again, something insignificant to some that I am reading into far too much. Your parent is supposed to be your biggest supporter in life, the one that brought you to life, who is supposed to love you unconditionally. Ashley has none of that. The only unconditional love and support she has is from her older brother. Not having support from your parents, your mother actively calling her an annoyance doesnโt help with her obviously festering insecurities and self hatred.
โโ แข..แขโ Renee thinking and openly expressing that the only way Ashley could have value to anyone (specifically Andrew) is if she is having sex with them. Ashleyโs mindset about sex is very contractual (I will probably go into further detail about this in a later post) and I believe that that has been taken from her mother.

๐บ Selling her children to the organ harvesting scheme is just generally fucked up, and how she shows absolutely no remorse is even more concerning. She happily collected the life insurance money, moved to a nicer home in a nicer place intending to forget about the two whole children she had.
๐บ Renee may not be the cause of all of the siblings problems, there are external influences as well as the father, though I feel with the lack of content we have around their father that I am unable to judge him on his actions, bar being equally responsible for his children. I just find the fandoms treatment of Renee to be odd considering how fandoms usually absolutely flame abusive parents in fiction. As I said, each to their own, if you like her this isnโt a post to try and change your mind, itโs just my opinion.
If I'm honest, even as annoying and abusive as Ashley can be, I think it says a lot when i see all these guy streamers blaming Ashley for everything and celebrating when she is mistreated physically or emotionally
Jinx: Tell me again.
Vi: It hasn't changed since the last time I said it.
Jinx: Please Vi. Tell me again.
Vi: I love you.
