Soulburner keeping Revolver out of jail makes a lot more sense when you know that most Japanese prisoners die within two years in prison. Revolver was accepting death while Soulburner wanted to make him pay for his crimes by staying alive to build a better future.

Hey remember how when Soulburner was introduced he tells us that using his skill is actually painful and takes a lot out of him and then as the series goes on we see him run himself ragged using it and Flame growing concerned and his hands shaking but he never collapses. And they never solve it it's just accepted that this action has consequences and Theo has to weigh the risks and deal with the pain and keep going because that's what he does. Soulburner takes hits and gets back up. There are things we can do that are gonna suck but we can choose to do them and and be brave and keep going. That meant a lot to me actually

S1: boarding school for card games, monster of the week format, halfway through they go "fuck it ancient egyptian spirits and shit and fight this evil through card games

S2: new characters and main plot is about beating a cult revolving around a guy possessed by literal evil light from space

S3: transfer students show up including protag's true equal, at this point the protag is relied on heavily by his friend group to a toxic point where he is anxious if someone tries to solve their own problems so of course he gets a bit obsessed and protective over the new guy, with these transfer students comes a teacher who's the bad guy and is trying to revive his dead kid through a contract with a spirit who's whole life goal was to protect our protag in each and every one of his lives (reincarnation shit) and in the modern version of the protag, they were one of our protag's cards as a kid and would literally put people our protag dueled with into literal comas traumatizing our protag, anyway lots of shit happens, new guy self sacrifices, protag blames himself and goes to the world that the new guy went to as to find him, more shit happens, our protag is told the guy he's been looking for is dead, and he breaks and becomes a past version of himself, and then he goes on to commit ACTUAL GENOCIDE, he returns to normal (with tons of trauma) once he's told the guy isnt actually dead, he eventually finds the guy and the guy is possesed by the same spirit as before, shit ensues and he uses a card to fuse himself with the spirit once and for all

S4: idk i havent seen it yet, but it also wasnt dubbed so if you watched the 4kids dub you thought the protag was dead
