Now, more than ever, clear writing matters.

In case you aren’t familiar, Michael Scott Moore and David Rohde are both journalists. Moore was held by Somali pirates for 977 days. Rohde was held captive by the Taliban for 7 months after being abducted in Afghanistan.

This is all that’s left of Van Patten’s Mountain Camp in the Organ Mountains of southern New Mexico. In the late 19th and early 20th century, it was the site of a glamorous hotel, visited by Billy the Kid and Pancho Villa. Later it was converted into a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients, who sought healing in the clean, temperate mountain air far from the city. It’s no surprise that there are so many ghost sightings here….
