MY SOOOOON
the thing abt duke thomas is that he is a genius truly gifted kid who had a promising albeit average future ahead of him until tragedy struck and took his parents from him. then all the energy he has diverts and he blocks everything else out and dedicates himself to finding them and also being a huge problem for anyone who'd try to obscure that.
like #1 most underrated thing abt his character is that he is, by definition, a "retired crash out". after age 14 he had no friends, shit grades, was getting into fights so often he was being kicked out of schools AND foster homes. it truly was self made vigilatism and the power of friendship that saved him from tunnel-visioning into an early grave.
ALL THIS TO SAY my favorite thing abt duke thomas pre batman and the signal (hell even during the comic) is how much of an unapologetic asshole he is to everyone indiscriminately in a bad way. He was kind but lil bro was NOT nice. he was selfish and a dickhead even to ppl who cared and were really trying to help him. I really like to think that him getting past that wasn't dc neutering him but the active choice to get better after he finally found a solid support system. that being said, he most definitely code switches and has to CONSISTENTLY hold back from poppin bitches in they mouthes bcs hes past that! he's in his healing arc! <as he'd say.
NOOOOOOOOOOO PREMIUMBITCH. YOU WILL BE MISSED.

bruce letting duke learn how to drive on the way to school:
bruce: signal.
duke: hm?
bruce: duke, signal.
duke: uh⦠yeah?
bruce (raising his voice): signal!
duke (gripping the steering wheel): WHAT??
bruce (bracing himself): SIGNAL!!
damian (triple buckled in the backseat): your TURN SIGNAL, imbecile!
later, bruce: i need to start calling it a blinker.
Duke and Jason have been banned from being anywhere near each other in costume because the arguments they will break out into is both too intense and too distracting for patrol. Everyone thinks they're serious but after the first 10-20 times they do it for the love of the game.
Duke: Shut the fuck up.
Jason: You shut the fuck up.
Duke: Zombie
Jason: Flashlight
Duke: That's why the joker still alive
Jason: That's why the joker did what he did to ya mom.
Duke: Nigga where ya mom at? Deaβ
Bruce over the comms who, along with the entire bat family has been listening to entire thing: Signal, Red Hood! SPERATE! NOW!
They are now giggling as dick and cass drag them apart.
excuse me...terf shifters? terf shifters have COMMUNITY? WTF
if you're in shiftblr and a terf, block me now. I don't want to see you on my dash again.
Enough is enoughπ. I need to start yapping about my DRs. From who I'll be in them, to what I'm changing about the OG plots. Almost every one of my media-based DRs needs their world-building to be redone, and plot points to be changed and I think yapping about it here would help me wrap my head around things.
I made this account just to post those controversial opinions and tbh I thought I'd get canceled right after, but seeing as I'm not...I might as wellπ€·ββοΈ
Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to better view my DR as a reality and not a "dream"? And how to strengthen my intention/assumption of waking up in my DR?
ββ©β§βΛ౨ΰ§Λββ©β§β
hellooo! i do have some things that will hopefully help you :)
πͺ HOW TO VIEW MY DR AS A REALITY AND NOT A 'DREAM'
first off, just a reminder that when we shift realities, we merely just become aware of a reality that we already exist in. we are experiencing another real reality out there- not some dreamworld, not a dream-like world, and not a daydream world; but it's real. real life.
if it helps, when going about your daily life here, take a moment every now and then to pause and really think about how life feels here. analyse your senses and think to yourself of what you're feeling, touching, smelling, seeing, tasting, and hearing. just like how we live here and how real everything is, that's how real it is in your dr. the realness of everything you feel here, is how it will feel in your dr. for example, if you're brushing your teeth and you pause for a moment to really take in the moment of you brushing your teeth and everything your feeling with your senses, remind yourself that this is how it's going to feel like in your dr, if you're brushing your teeth, for example.
do your daily tasks and compare the two. take a moment and do a little sense-check. remind yourself of everything that you're feeling right now in that moment, is how you'll be feeling it when you do it in your dr as well.
another thing you can do is try instead of thinking about all the cool things you're going to be experiencing, things that might be super different and unattainable in this reality, think of the boring, mundane things you'll be experiencing. think of the simple things: the simple things that make you happy, the simple things that you'll get sad over, any mundane or boring tasks you might complete. the boring days in your dr.
you're going to have moments where you're going to be bored out of your mind, maybe even mindlessly scrolling on your phone or even watching television. you're going to have moments where nothing extraordinary is happening at all, and you're left there by yourself to try and feel the void of boredom growing within. you might even have a moment where you drop your ice-cream on the floor :(
in your dr, the weird and spontaneous will happen. the boring and mundane will happen. you will experience moments of adrenaline. you will experience moments of happiness. you will experience moments of sadness. think of these other moments that will happen in your dr, aside from the exciting and extraordinary to help you realise that these things will happen in your dr, just as they do here :)
πͺ HOW TO STRENGTHEN MY INTENTION/ASSUMPTION OF WAKING UP IN MY DR?
setting intention is honestly a lot easier than we let on. it is something us just mentally deciding to do that thing, and then doing that thing later on. however, sometimes we can run into bumps where we don't exactly fulfil our intentions.
this can come from a place of hesitation, procrastination, or even just having weak intention setting from the beginning- especially if you're the time of person who tells themselves they'll do this specific thing and then they never end up doing it π
luckily, it's quite easy to strengthen your intentions and assumptions!
for intention, i recommend during the day, you practice intention setting. just simply set intention for something any ordinary daily task you'll do, and then get up and fulfil your intention!
for example, if i set intentions through affirmations, i'll mentally speak out: "i intend to go and make a cup of tea," and then after saying that i would wait a bit (you don't have to), then go and make my cup of tea! ta-daa! intention fulfilled π₯°
for strengthening assumptions, you could also do the same thing above for strengthening your assumptions. you could just assume something really basic that you know is to be true, and keep doing that as 'practice' so when you assume you'll wake up in your dr, it'll become a natural assumption because you know and have seen how your assumptions are true, and so will this one.
you could also practice using the law of assumption on 'small' manifestations. incorporate the law into your daily life. for example, if you have work that day but you don't want it to be busy, you could assume that it is going to be quiet all day and then boom! when you see for yourself that your workplace actually was really quiet, you'll be able to gain some trust and confidence in your assumptions (btw i've used this and it works like a charm for me! all my days at work for have so far, been sooo dead and quiet hehe).
also, developing some trust and confidence in yourself can help you to trust yourself and the intentions you set! doing all of the things above can help you develop this too, but working on your own confidence and trust in yourself is important too. trust goes a long way.
affirmations help as well! don't be afraid to affirm your confidence and trust in yourself, affirming that you will fulfil your intentions, or affirming and persisting in your assumptions too! affirmations are a good way to remind you of what you already have or what you will fulfil, and you can use affirmations to life yourself up and develop confidence in yourself!
it may require a little bit of effort, but it's sooo worth it in the end!
to be honest, i'm not fully satisfied with my answer but i hope this helped regardless! and if not and you're looking for any more tips or information on these things (strengthening intention + assumptions) then check out the resources below!
good luck on your shifting journey and i wish you well :D

daydreaming vs visualization vs imagination
i was thinking about before i got into the law. you know when you imagine steamy scenarios before you go to bed for fun? i know you know what i mean. i used to do that every night in 2020 (even now) with the same scenario bc it was fun. keep in mind that i didnt know about the law at this point so i obviously didnt intend for it to "manifest". a year ago when i started to understand states, i used to think back to 2020 and wonder why those scenarios didnt manifest since i kept visualizing and imagining the same thing. last week i randomly remembered about how i used to wonder that and i immediately knew the answer: i wasnt changing self.
when i was visualizing/imagining, i wasnt becoming the person who actually knew i was experiencing it. i was not being someone who was experiencing those steamy scenarios. in order words, i was just daydreaming.
daydreaming
in my own words, i think daydreaming is visualizing something while being someone who knows they dont have it. for example: visualizing owning a car while knowing that you dont have it. so you are just visualizing it for fun, not for the purpose of changing self but for the purpose of just experiencing something in imagination (via visualization) just for your own enjoyment. daydreaming is like visualizing for fun, without changing states/self. this "knowing" i talk about is based on what state you are in, so if someone knows they dont have a car, they are in that state.
i think daydreaming is always visualization but visualization is not always daydreaming. daydreaming is for fun, without the intention of "manifesting" or changing states while visualization is changing states whether or not you intent to do so.
so i was visualizing my freaky scenes as the version of me who didnt identify with those freaky scenes (aka daydreaming). i wasnt identifying with it or using it to change self. same thing applies to when i used to repeat positive thoughts 100k times but i didnt identify with them. those are called vain repetitions and can be used to change self but if they just dont change self/states, then it is just daydreaming/vain repetitions. you can change self/states without realizing too which is why i think people put so much power onto techniques by thinking the techniques themselves are doing something, when its only self (imagination/you) that is changed by the techniques. those techniques were the things that consciously or unconsciously made you change self. regardless, self/you will always be the thing manifesting.
realize that regardless of everything, your state/version of you you are being, will always determine the "3d".
visualization β imagination
visualization is a tool to change self / imagination. you can visualize things but that doesnt mean you are identifying with it or accepting it as true. i think of visualization as a smaller form of imagination but its very small compared to imagining/imagination itself.
imagination is what you are (aka self). imagination is not a tool like visualization because you always are operating in imagination since everything is self. you are always being a version of you. you arent always visualizing. visualizing can be daydreaming if you arent visualizing that thing to change self.
when you imagine something in a law of assumption context, imagining = what version of you you are being.
imagination is not limited to visualizing. there are some people in this community who have aphantasia and think they have no imagination and therefore "cant manifest", etc. but they just cant visualize. imagination is not equal to visualization. no matter what type of or stage of aphantasia you have, you will always already be manifesting.
visualizing and thinking without changing self means nothing. changing self means being a new version of you who knows they have (insert whatever desire).
self changes everything
so back to my story, i was just visualizing me and my imaginary bae, i wasnt being the person who was experiencing what i was visualizing. this is why it didnt manifest. i like this idea because that is just more proof that self changes everything, who ever you are being in imagination will express. it also means i have control bc i can daydream anything for fun and control whether or not it expresses bc i dont have to identify with that version of me who is experiencing whatever i am daydreaming.
i hope this makes sense and if it doesnt, dont stress. just focus on changing self, be the version of you that has whatever it is you want. i made this post because its been on my mind and hopefully it can help someone else realize that changing self is all you ever have to do.
kisses, jani β

a small blurb for this idea, if yall like this i'll write the whole thing!!
this is platonic yan! dragon btw
--
Large eyes stare back at you. He found you, this was your end. If the bodies scattered around you wasn't enough, the blood that stained his claws and snout made your heart drop.
The castle was in ruins and everyone but you was gone, dead. Their blood painted the walls a deep red, but you were relatively unharmed save for the few scratches you had acquired from the fallen debris.
A whimper escapes you as he lowers his giant head near you, almost bumping into your body. He's curious. You hope it wasn't a fatal curiosity, wincing away as he nudges you. What else could you do other than sit there, a tiny human at the mercy of a murderous dragon.
He nudges you again. Your tears fall onto the ground as you shook your head, maybe this was him just taunting you before he finally kills you off like the rest of the people in the castle. A low growl makes you flinch, it shakes your insides with how deep it was.
He opens his jaws. You squeeze your eyes shut, preparing yourself for a painful and gory death. You feel yourself being...lifted above the ground? The beast had taken a small part of your shirt in his mouth, scruffing you like you were a kitten.
He was taking you with him. An eye for an eye, he had taken a human child in exchange for his dead nestlings.
random, but I think the way people talk about abusers as hypercompetent, calculating manipulators that Know exactly what they're doing makes it easier for people to get into abusive relationships
