random, but I think the way people talk about abusers as hypercompetent, calculating manipulators that Know exactly what they're doing makes it easier for people to get into abusive relationships

LUCID DREAMS + VIVID SHIFTING DREAM!
i believe that before this dream i had been struggling with lucid dreaming a bit (i hadn't had one in the past few weeks and was doubting my ability) when i did have one. i can't remember this one very well since it was a little while ago but i do remember that i'd read that if you close your eyes in the lucid state you're sent straight to the void state, and while i didn't do so, the dream faded away and i thought this was the perfect time to try to shift.
i think part of what i did incorrectly was not set a firm intention - i just wanted to shift - but i ended up waking up in a bed and grover, percy and annabeth were in the same room sleeping.
now, i haven't yet finished my pjo script (like, at all) but i did think i shifted, mainly because of how incredibly vivid the dream was. i tried doing reality checks in the dream but didn't focus on them enough (trying to breath through a closed nose tends to work, though in more vivid dreams i find that there's an initial resistance, almost like i can't breath through it, so i try to do longer reality checks during the day because of this).
anyway, in the dream i walked around excitedly because i was like, "this is it, i shifted", though i overlooked lots of odd aspects about the world since it was a dream. when i woke up i was partially bummed that i didn't shift but this was also great motivation.
i also had a lucid dream another night where i was able to create a portal for the first time! i have had trouble controlling dreams especially in the past so during the day i planned what i was going to do in the dream, which was to accio a sword (luke's sword from pjo) and use it to create a portal.
i ironically had a dream before this about both hp and pjo, but anyway, after i woke up i was still tired so i closed my eyes and allowed the dream to materialize in front of me, and once it was tangible i started moving around. i accio'd a sword, and it worked! then i created a portal but woke up prematurely ๐ญ
but that's about it! i don't know what it is with me and having 'false shifts' in my dreams but they're pretty common. i just tend to use them as motivation!!

I know this sounds incredibly weird but I sometimes feel like I can feel myself in my DR. Like I feel that I am there. Is that a good sign or a bad sign? Iโm scared that I might get reality dissociation or something
Answer "feeling like I'm in my DR":
Hello lovely! I hope this helps. Please ignore that it's a bit less well written I haven't slept yet and dawn is approaching.
You do not have to dissociate to connect to your DR. Feeling connected to it and knowing in your heart that you are in your DR in the 4D doesn't require dissociation.
When I talk about shifting I often say "you shift the 4D first" and this is what I mean. You accept your DR as your reality regardless of what is being shown to you in the 3D because you know that your 4D is your DR.
to anyone reading this who is confused wtf I'm talking about: I view shifting from a LOA perspective.
The 3D = physical reality or the "outer world" 4D = true reality or the "inner world"
The 3D is a mirror that reflects the 4D. When you believe something to be real it is. Change your inner world change reality.
I have struggled with dissociation in the past for personal reasons, and I find I feel the most connected to my DR when I am grounded. Dissociation has never made me feel more connected to anything. Just distant and numb.
Being able to see the world around me as real and full of life really helps me conceptualize my DR in the same way. I look up at the sky and I know that I see the same stars. I smell rain and I know that's how it would smell in my DR. I feel the world around me and I know that my desired reality is just as real.
Being mentally present in this reality is not your enemy. It is helpful. You don't have to choose between feeling your DR and your mental health. It is entirely possible to be present and healthy in your 3D and still know in your heart that you are in your DR.
