I think Atsushi does a lot of tiger/cat things!

Actually my most favorite headcanon for him, was put forth by @awkward-atsushi who pointed out that tigers don’t meow, they chuff.

So now Atsushi chuffs like a tiger in my mind.

Head empty, one thought: Imagine Atsushi bunting, the thing cats do where they rub their jaws along things to essentially mark them with their own scent, the side of Akutagawa's face who just stands there a little shocked for a moment before Atsushi realizes what he's done and panics. Of course, he doesn't know why he does it and just does it on instinct

i like to think atsushi definitely still has cat-like behaviour when he’s in human form.

like someone’s being nice to him and he has the strong urge to rub his head against them lovingly. new people are like wtf atsushi but the rest of the agency is just like yeah he does that sometimes.

Hc that atsushi's pupils dilate like a cats when he's happy or excited

Or when he's fighting his eyes narrow into little slits and he hisses

And when he's eating or looking at akutagawa his eyes get really big

u know how cats r usually very light sleepers???

atsushi being a light sleeper and every morning when akutagawa wakes up atsushi showers him with affection

akutagawa doesn't really think much of it

until one day he wakes up and notices the .5 seconds it takes atsushi to notice he's awake, he's staring at him teary eyed - becuz sometimes the reason cats r so affectionate in the morning is becuz cats think humans r cats too and get worried why u wont wake up

or so ive heard

anyway atsushi gets super worried becuz aku is a little bit of a deeper sleeper than him

atsushi licks his wounds until someone next to him stops him

I want a bsd au where Atsushi ran away from the orphanage at one point (maybe the tiger took over and ran off or something) and just ended up living in the woods for a while

Cannon eventually catches up with him one way or another and he’s still Atsushi but his feral cat meter is dialed up to ten

Like, he pushes Kunikida’s paperwork off his desk when annoyed

He takes naps whenever he ends up under a sunbeam

He has Matt Murdock super senses

Whenever he decides Akutagawa is being to much of a dick he just, Chomps™️

All that fun stuff

(I also really like the idea of Dazai having to explain things like curse words and sex and drugs the Atsushi ‘grew up in a catholic orphanage and then The Woods™️’ Nakajima)

Dazai makes one suicide joke and Atsushi is like "what's that??" and everyone just freezes all ?????
