Drew Glorfindel On A Whim, But Pleased With How It Turned Out. It's Set In The Third Age, And Glorfindel

Drew Glorfindel on a whim, but pleased with how it turned out. It's set in the Third Age, and Glorfindel is at peace with the world, after the Fall of Gondolin and the wars of the Second Age. He's looking at the petals of a tree falling in the breeze.

Preview - More Than Life Itself (Severus Snape x OC)

Preview - More Than Life Itself (Severus Snape X OC)

Author's note: Hey! It's my first time properly publishing a Potter-related story, and the above GIF should give you guys a pretty good idea which part of the story this preview is from. I feel that Severus Snape is one of the best characters ever written, and I'm reimagining him with one of my oldest OCs. Have fun reading! Feedback and comments appreciated!

----

“All this time,” she growled, marching closer to him, “he trusted you. Dumbledore trusted you! And you…you killed him, just like that!” The tip of her wand touched his chest, and she shoved him hard. He didn’t fall, and he just stood there, staring at her.

“Say something…you prick! You coward. Say SOMETHING!” Helena screamed, marching closer again, the tip of her wand up against his throat. Tears rolled down her face as she mourned, for the Headmaster that Hogwarts once had, and the man before her, a man she thought she understood. Now she knew that she had barely scratched the surface of the lake that was Severus Snape.

He reached up, grasping her wrists and gently pulling her wand from his throat. He gave her a look that was both intense and filled with something she couldn’t decipher. His lips moved, saying words so silently she couldn’t hear them, but she could’ve sworn he said, “Please trust me.”

But how could she?

With that, he had marched after the Death Eaters retreating from the Hogwarts grounds, his figure growing ever smaller. Helena sunk to her knees, letting out a loud scream filled with anguish, for the darkening of the world as she knew it. She vaguely registered Hagrid putting out the fire lighting his hut ablaze, or him and Harry walking over to her. Hagrid’s hand landed, surprisingly gently, on her shoulder.

(Reader is Maglor's wife who had followed the Host of Fingolfin to Middle-earth after promising Nerdanel to bring Maglor home)

One day in the Third Age, she was exploring the shores of Middle-earth when she saw a solitary figure wandering in front of her. He sung mournful melodies, his fingers plucking the strings of his harp.

"Maglor," she breathed softly, then took off in a run towards him. "Maglor!"

(Reader Is Maglor's Wife Who Had Followed The Host Of Fingolfin To Middle-earth After Promising Nerdanel

Freezing at the sound of his name, the mournful notes of his harp faded into silence. He turned slowly, his eyes wide and filled with disbelief as he caught sight of you. “It cannot be,” he murmured, his voice breaking like a fragile thread. But when you reached him, your arms wrapped tightly around him, he clutched you as though you might vanish, his harp slipping from his fingers to the sand. “You found me,” he whispered, his voice hoarse, trembling. “After all this time...you found me.”

A missed opportunity (a scene I wish they'd given us at the end of episode 7 or beginning of episode 8)

Gil-galad is still fighting, wielding Aeglos, cutting orcs left and right almost effortlessly. The orcs have been given orders by Sauron: capture the Elven leaders alive. But they can't get near to the king, let alone disarm him.

One of the orcs spots Elrond, lying barely conscious on the battlefield after Adar has nearly choked him to death. He grabs Elrond, pulls his body up and puts a knife to his throat.

Orc (to Gil-galad): "Surrender or I'll kill him"

The High King drops his spear in a heartbeat.

Maglor writes music for Galadriel to dance to from the time she’s very small.

At first they’re children’s songs, sweet simple melodies that she twirls to while holding onto Finrod’s hands laughing as they sway amongst nodding flowers in meadows drenched in golden light.

As she takes dancing more seriously and begins to learn it as a craft for herself, Maglor’s music for her becomes more complex. He comes to her practices as often as he can and it surprises her when he is graciously allowed to play as she and her fellow students practice. The minstrel who plays for them never allows anyone else to do so, but she is delighted to step aside for Maglor.

Galadriel isn’t aware that her beloved indulgent cousin who plays for her first formal dance recital is in high demand to compose symphonies. To her he’s her cousin, he’s been giving her music to dance to as long as she can remember and she gives him her best performances in return.

By the time she understands that Maglor is a very sought after musician, she’s also learned that nothing makes him happier than gifting music to those he loves best. In celebration of her becoming a lead dancer in her company he gifts her a score for a new ballet he’s written just for her. Galadriel has no words to express what such a present means to her, and instead tells him by putting all of her heart into her performance of the piece. Maglor meets her backstage afterwards with arms full of lilies. He gives her the flowers and a kiss on the cheek, and as he pulls away she sees his eyes are full of tears which are more precious than any words.

. . .

She shouldn’t be surprised that when her wedding to Celeborn arrives, a gift of music comes too, but she is surprised nonetheless. She hasn’t seen Maglor in centuries, has not tried to contact him or responded to the letters he sent to her through Finrod. Yet when she opens the box that her brother hands her and finds sheet music in a familiar beautiful hand Galadriel cannot move or speak for several long moments. There is only a short note included.

Congratulations to you and your husband, wishing you all the happiness in the world, little flame.

All my love, Maglor

There are still no words when Finrod takes the music from her, leans in to murmur something to Celeborn, then picks up his harp. Celeborn takes her hand and leads her out onto the dance floor and Finrod begins to play. The notes weave a song of celebration, love, and joy as she and Celeborn dance for the first time as husband and wife, and even though Maglor is not present she feels his love in his gift to them.

. . .

Holding her daughter who is only days old, Galadriel finds herself humming some of the old lullabies of her childhood that she had danced to so long ago when a bird lands on her windowsill with a scroll tied around its leg. After settling Celebrian in her crib she approaches the bird, a variate she has never seen so far inland before, and offers it some crumbs of bread to eat as she unties its burden.

Her heart nearly stops as she unrolls it, hand flying to her mouth at the sight of the familiar handwriting.

She had not expected to ever see it again, the stories had said he was -

Yet clearly they were mistaken, for she holds proof in her hands that he still lives.

Through her tear filled eyes, she reads the words on the paper that smells of salt and sea air.

Congratulations little flame, I’m certain your little silver queen will be as beautiful and talented as you. Will she dance too, I wonder?

All my love, M. F.

Below the note is a lullaby new and fresh for Celebrian, soft, sweet, and as all Maglor’s gifts to her even after centuries of separation, filled his love.

Once more Galadriel picks up Celebrian, and cuddling her sleepy sweet daughter to her heart, begins to sway on light feet around the room, singing softly the lullaby her cousin has sent to them from whatever paths he now wanders.

Yes, she thinks, a glimmer of the future brushing against her thoughts, Celebrian will dance too, someday. She hopes that Maglor will be able to see it when she does.

The Rings of Power, 'Doomed to Die' (2022 - )

Inspiration Strikes

Author's note: My story will be named "Lady of the Noldor", also Rings of Power was a huge inspiration (especially the Galadriel-Sauron temptation dynamic, I'm not copying that but I think it's interesting), I'll be adapting Rings of Power events into my story

Hear me out, guys! I've got an idea for a Silm elf, but I'm really fleshing it out. This is a story where my OC eventually ends up with Glorfindel, but there's a very long journey before she gets there.

Her name is Noldoriel (Q. Lady of the Noldor, forgive me if I'm wrong here), and she's a Noldor elf (duh). She is known for her wisdom, earning her the title Noldoriel the Wise. She resides in Eregion with her father Lalmion (S. Laughter's son), who's a close friend and advisor of Celebrimbor. Erestor (yes, the future Chief Counsellor of Rivendell) also lives there with his father Almarion (S. Son of blessedness). Lalmion and Almarion are close friends, together they form a close-knit circle of Celebrimbor's advisors.

Noldoriel is a harpist, and she has an extensive understanding of elven lore. In particular, she respects Glorfindel a lot, has worked on a few murals of him throughout Eregion (this is before he's reborn). She admires his valour and courage.

Her close friend is Mirdania (a Rings of Power OC, but I love her).

One day, Annatar (Lord of Gifts, oh how I wish to beat up this mf) comes to Eregion. Noldoriel is suspicious of him, but Annatar is smart enough to know that it would be better to have her as an ally instead of his enemy. He charms her with Maia magic. For a while, she actually falls under his spell.

He lures her in with false promises of romantic love, and it was originally meant to be a charade but over time he actually falls for her. Noldoriel can subtly sense that something is wrong, but she is trying to fight the subconscious.

Part I of my story will be about Noldoriel fighting the temptation of Annatar. The Siege of Eregion happens in this one, and I think the closing scene of Part I would likely be a final confrontation between Noldoriel and Annatar (like Sauron and Galadriel's fight).

Part II of my story is where Glorfindel comes in. I personally headcanon (before Rings of Power came out) that the Lindon elves would have an army to save Eregion, and Glorfindel (reborn) would be one of its commanders. As Glorfindel and the other commanders (including Elrond and Gil-galad) lead the survivors of the siege out of Eregion to the valley that would one day become Rivendell, they walk by a plunge pool (which is where a waterfall will meet the stream that feeds the Glanduin river). Glorfindel spots Noldoriel washed up on the banks (she had chosen to jump down the waterfall from the top of the cliff to escape Annatar/Sauron, and I kinda want it to be a symbolism where she finally rids herself of his influence, and not to copy the scenes from Rings of Power).

He saves her, they go to the valley. Noldoriel and Glorfindel eventually fall in love, they get married after the War of the Last Alliance.

Part II of the story is about Glorfindel and Noldoriel.

Thanks for listening to my rambling! If you have any feedback or ideas you'd like to see me use in my story, please comment! Any lore inaccuracies, comment as well!

Face claim for Noldoriel: this amazing actress over here, Grace Victoria Cox (except with longer hair of course, and grey eyes)
