so i was having autism time with @yaboieif when we started talking about felix graham de vanily and i came to an excellent realization
so you know at the end of season 5, where they show all the heroes together and felix is part of them? yeah that always irked me. for several reasons actually-
1. argos is publicly felix graham de vanily. everyone (or at least everyone at the diamonds dance) saw him transform. they know itâs felix (or even adrien agreste) but even if devices werenât allowed at the event like the secret meeting at the agreste mansion, then word of mouth certainly wouldâve done it. also, i think most people probably figured out his little stunt with redmoon wasnât an akumatization, via interviews or other reporting
2. felix has always had an angle, no matter whose side he was on. this is more clearly seen in the later seasons, firstly in season 4 when he betrays ladybug in order to get the peacock to have control over his (and adrienâs, and kagamiâs) safety. secondly, he works with kagami in season 5 to take gabriel down, NOT TO HELP LADYBUG NECESSARILY, but the key motive is taking gabriel down. itâs always been his agenda, even if he ends up helping ladybug in the process.
therefore, when i saw him in the finale standing with the other heroes, with a stupid protagonist goody-goody smile on his face, something didnât sit right. where was the angle?
iâll FREAKING TELL YOU the angle, gents. who do we see prominently featured as a villain in the new trailers for s6, other than cerise?
so i present to you felixâs angle for joining the HERO TEAM that opposes the VILLAINS: heâs freeing his girlfriend.
badabingbadaboom iâm the maker of the cain and abel sentitwins post i understand and i see things

There's so much drarry content to comment on in this passage I hardly even know where to start.
1) Harry's animosity is all for Snape. The only time we really see him feel true anger towards Draco is at the end of 4th year. Otherwise he's rarely deeply angry at him. It would certainly be unsurprising if Harry blamed Draco for what happened, even if Snape struck the killing blow. But he doesn't. Quite the opposites in fact. He feels sympathy for Draco's plight and actively worries about him. Because he knows Draco so well that he can see right through him to the kind of person he really is - not a willing acolyte of Voldemort. And because Harry is drawn to and cares about Draco a lot more than his is willing to acknowledge, even to himself...
2) The thing Harry picks that he still blames Draco for is...his infatuation with the Dark Arts. Not his role in Dumbledore's death. Not anything he's ever done to Harry. Harry's nice but he's not usually THIS forgiving. Certainly not with people he doesn't care about or dislikes... And for all that Harry claims to dislike Draco he spends an awful lot of time worrying about him. Both here and in later passages as well as in book 7. In this section of book 6 he also claims Crabbe and Goyle look "lonely" without Draco but given the interactions we see between them in book 7 it's pretty unlikely they miss him so if anyone misses Draco and feels like his presence is something that has always been part of his life and that it's strange with out him...it's probably Harry.
3) It's also notable that even though Draco only had the chance to lower his wand a little bit Harry is utterly sure he wouldn't have killed Dumbledore. And instead of thinking about how Draco missed his chance to come back to the Light and now will fall deeper into the Dark, he worries about what Voldemort is "making" him do. Thus accepting that any further acts Draco carries out on Voldemort's behalf are against his will. He really understands Draco. And cares about his welfare. A lot more than an enemy or casual acquaintance would.
4) As an aside, it's also pretty hilarious that Harry's like 'Draco Malfoy? No I haven't thought about him much' *proceeds to spend an entire paragraph thinking about him and worrying if he's ok and then brings him up again a few paragraphs later*
Before I get into it, if it calms anyoneâs nerves, I think this poster is a case of questionable graphic design. The weird official render style makes the characters look different from normal, plus Chat, Carapace, and Rena are all squished to match Ladybugâs proportions on the poster. This is an interesting choice from the designer: making the smallest character in the group take up the entire height and corresponding width of the poster and then awkwardly smushing the others in next to her. Thatâs why Carapace looks more short and stout than usual, and why Chat and Rena are kinda elongated. It doesnât help that they shrunk Rena to accommodate her fox ears.
Iâm liking the little updates to the hero suits. I honestly wasnât expecting to see change for anyone but Ladybug and Chat, so now Iâm excited to see everyone else. I love the changes on Carapace. They took his old, pretty simple suit and added a lot of new textures like the chest plate and wrist guards, and they gave him fingerless gloves and neck speakers. This gives me hope that theyâll update other designs that get criticized for just being a bodysuit with a decal on it like Ryuko and Viperionâs into something more interesting.
Rena is very similar, but her ears are bigger and pointier, the flute has been redesigned, her palms are white now, she has big poppinâ eyeliner, and her tail seems to be dark. Some people noted that they seem to be making Alyaâs skin look darker after accusations of whitewashing her, so I hope theyâll finally give Pegasus the same treatment.
Iâve seen people say LB and CN mustâve taken influence from their reverse selves for their current designs, and CN seems to have some PV nods like his new shirt collar. Ladybugâs design feels more mature and is probably a response to criticism of her looking too simple as a character with a fashion interest among other superheroes with more detailed designs.
I didnât include the poster of Marinetteâs outfit, but overall I like it. I agree with people saying the bow on her shirt feels extra, but I like her emonette jacket. Her tights under jorts remind me of Myleneâs outfit, making me wonder if thereâs some character influence there, or if theyâll be changing Myleneâs clothes so they donât look too similar.
First look at Alya! Yay! I love her new haircut. It reminds me of Haru from persona 5. She seems to be wearing the same shirt, which is lame. Maybe the rest of her outfit has changed, or maybe theyâre not fixing what isnât broke. Itâs disappointing, though, that Adrienâs outfit looks the same. I can only dream that theyâre leading up to a makeover scene where he realizes heâs allowed to pick out his own clothes now, but alas.
Here Adrien is jogging with a new character (?) who has a prosthetic leg. Thereâs no good look at their face and even this screenshot sucks. If this is the same scene as Marinette with binoculars, then we might be getting a rare moment of a new character being introduced through Adrien rather than Marinette, perhaps someone he knows from rich people stuff or whatever nebulous and dubiously canon sports he participates in.
This frame appears after a camera pan right from a modernized remodel of the school. Before, there were average city blocks around the school, so whatever this is might be part of an expanded campus built for Bustierâs utopian academy.
I think Iâve written in a post before that I hope ML does something to commemorate the Paris 2024 Olympics, so Iâm thrilled to see an Olympian akuma in the trailer! Perhaps this character is a celebrity cameo, but idk anything about Team France and its stars. Itâs possible this scenario will be a special episode as well, but maybe more like the plastic special than the world specials. I hope they have to beat her by competing in games like Penalteam but with less cheating. Itâd be awesome if the other heroes helped represent events that fit their characters. An episode like that would be a fun and light way to introduce the new animation and hero designs without diving into deep overarching drama and lore.
Perhaps the character jogging with Adrien is connected to this episode since they have a prosthetic running leg and seem athletic.
Hereâs our first look at Lilaâs akumatization. Her mask thing is very pretty and soft looking compared to Gabrielâs sharp, geometric, simple one. It reminds me of a masquerade mask with all the swirls. Maybe thereâs some visual symbolism here of Lila being a more complex butterfly user than Hawkmoth. We also see her shooting some sort of beam at CN from the mask, maybe separate from the akumaâs power. I hope theyâll revisit the somewhat-retconned bloodbending power we saw Hawkmoth use on Evillustrator and Pixelator and explore the full extent of the butterflyâs power over their akumas.
Tomoe? Astruc said he wants Kagami to fight her and take her down further down the road, and I believe she may be a bigger villain than theyâre making her out to be now. Lila is great and all, but an adult threat who owns a tech megacorp and is one of the only surviving members of Gabrielâs creepy billionaire sentibaby cult seems like a scarier enemy than the pathological liar from class. We donât know Lilaâs deal yet, but I imagine her villain motives are probably something deeply personal. Meanwhile, Tomoe might be trying to reach some greater goal that Gabriel failed to achieve. Both she and Lila practically had all the fruits of his evil labor fall into their laps without lifting a finger, so they might have an interesting dynamic as rival villains or fake allies.
Okay this is from the London special. The synopsis says someone found Ladybugâs identity to take her down, and she and Bunnyx have to solve the mystery and reverse the events. This masked person looks like they may be the enemy, and their design is themed after the rabbit miraculous. People have been kinda assuming that itâs just Lila, but everyone in the audience knows sheâs the next big villain right now, so it feels like a cop-out to frame this special as a mystery. It could still be her, and itâs just a mystery to the heroes, but what if the enemy is someone else? If theyâre using the rabbit miraculous, Lila wouldnât have access to it during season 5 unless she stole it somehow and gave it back unnoticed.
My theory is that the villain is Tomoe who got the miraculous from Gabriel. The trailer shows catbug looking in on Adrien and Kagami in their white rooms, so maybe during that time, Gabriel sent rabbit!Tomoe after Ladybug to ensure his victory in the upcoming finale, and maybe she has her own motives as well.
I recall Zag releasing concepts of some hero or spy characters from London a long time ago, and I thought theyâd be for the London world special like Eagle and Lady Dragon, but maybe theyâre for a different show or got scrapped in favor of focusing on the main miraculous plot (which honestly, good. Please focus on the existing characters)
Finally, poor Nooroo in Lilaâs creepy catacomb bunker. I hope her jumpscare reaction at the end of s5 wasnât just the sight of him. It would feel odd after the latest of Marinetteâs hero friends were totally chill seeing kwamis for the first time. Heâs in some bubble here. Maybe itâs stopping him from sharing things heâs not allowed to say, or maybe Lila is forcing him to stay put? Iâm also curious about the angle and what that metal bar is a part of. Is Lila sitting under a table?
Anyway! TLDR I like the new designs overall and Iâm excited to see everyone else. Iâm also excited at the prospect of an Olympics episode and I think Tomoe may be the next big villain next to or even surpassing Lila.
So, I know how much everybody loves pretend-dating/pretend-marriage fics, but have you considered âpretend NOT to be dating/marriedâ AUs?
For example:
My friend is so determined to fix me up with somebody better than my string of casual coffee date/hookup partners that I didnât have the heart to tell her, after she set us up for a blind date, that I actually met you six months ago
Weâre both professors in the same department and it enhances your reputation with the students as a mysterious enigma and my reputation as a stone-cold terror if we pretend to hate each other, plus when we back each other up in departmental meetings everybodyâs so surprised they give in right away
My parents thought I was working for an insurance company in New York when really I was joining the CIA so I just sort of never mentioned when I met you on an assassination-gone-wrong and now weâve been married for five years and they still donât know you exist, this has gotten wildly out of hand and you wonât stop laughing about it
All your coworkers know youâre married to a cop but now Iâm undercover investigating a string of bank heists and it turns out that your only friend at your shitty new job is dating the head bank robber.
Weâve been communicating entirely by email/phone/carrier pigeon/paid messenger for the past year as we work to bring some peace and order to this troubled land, so when I walked into the negotiation room to sit down with the fearsome and terrible politician/businessperson/famed warrior that all my people are so afraid of, I didnât really expect it to be you.
I didnât think my parents could accept me dating somebody of your gender/race/religion/species, so weâve been keeping it quiet, but now my mom canât stop talking about her friendâs next-door neighbor and how perfect theyâd be for me and youâve got some nosy neighbor trying to set you up with their coworkerâs kid and how do we tell them weâre engaged without making them think itâs because of their completely uninvited meddling?
Youâve got to pretend-date your best friend for a couple of weeks because reasons, and somehow that means weâre passing ourselves off as siblings to explain why we live together but weâve started giving each other really filthy pre-sex looks behind everyoneâs back like a game of chicken and pretty soon somebody is going to start to have serious concerns about our siblinghood.
Pretending-not-to-be-dating AUs: add yours today!
Does this help you people to understand what the problem is?
Beause I KNOW people are going to demand an explanation:
Adrien is a bad person because he is sexually harassing Marinette and has been since S1 and he has literally just gotten exponentially worse as we get to later seasons. You CANNOT sexually harass people and be a good person at the same time. He is sexually harassing Marinette. He is a bad person. (Donât believe me about the sexual harassment? rjalker.tumblr.com/tagged/adrien-salt
Chloe is a bad person because she is a bully, a thief, a liar, and uses her familyâs power and wealth to blackmail people, INCLUDING THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL SO THAT HE WOULD EXPEL ANOTHER STUDENT, PURPOSEFULLY KNOCKED OUT THE DRIVE OF AND CRASHED A TRAIN FULL OF PEOPLE SO THAT SHE COULD GET THE CREDIT FORÂ âRESCUNGâ THEM. She is cruel to everyone she meets, and only ever stops being cruel if sheâs going to be rewarded for it. She is a bad person.
Lila is a bad person because she lies to everyone, some of them innocent white lies, some OF THEM NOT SO MUCH. She lies to and manipulates those around her and has no qualms about hurting people with her lies. She is a bad person.
The white (or white-passing) characters are the ones most likely to be praised by the fandom, upheld as saints despite all of the bad things theyâve done. They are portrayed as pure innocent cinnamon rolls who are Super Woke⢠and feminist.
And the characters of color are most likely to be bashed, and all misdeeds blown wildly out of proportion. They are portrayed as stupid, violent, and mentally ill. (Because this fandom canât just leave it at racism and misogyny. They have to add an extra helping of ableism too!)
Ok, so here we go.
Today I lost someone from my family and I also started shit in here without meaning to. Since I canât bring people back from the dead, I can at least clear the air with the person I offended (and I already did it). So anons, please stop sending me messages of support or calling me a bitch. It literally makes no difference to me.
What I would like to do then is share my views on the topic because I do think we need to discuss it. Itâs extremely relevant right now.
And I do this because itâs what I should have done from the beginning: express my POV without lowkey saying âyouâre wrongâ. Itâs a lovely process to be part of this fandom and we can disagree (as we usually do in everything) but respect each otherâs POVs.
So hereâs my personal experience with âDraco Malfoy is an analogy for Nazi youthâ and I hope you can share yours and we can grow together.
It is common knowledge that the Death Eaters are an analogy to Nazis. I mean, itâs freaking obvious. So yes, sometimes I find it bizarre when people romanticise them and tattoo dark marks and shit. At the same time, though, I understand that fiction is not real life, so that doesnât really mean they are Nazi sympathisers. Actually, most HP readers are just the opposite.
Now talking about Draco specifically: for a looooong time I felt like SHIT for liking this ship. Itâs nothing new if you follow my personal posts. I used to literally ask God to cure me from this disorder. So yeah, highkey self-loathing.
The thing that made me make peace with this pairing was Deathly Hallows. I donât think I would still be a shipper without it. Both because it developed their relationship and because it gave me a glimpse of hope for Dracoâs redemption.
I love Draco. Heâs one of my favourite characters in the whole of Literature. I am literally obsessed with him. And at the same time I am a crazy activist who wants to punch Nazis in the face. So how can I be both?
First of all, because I have so clear to me the difference between fiction and real life. And thatâs something that I can only vouch for myself. Young girls donât always have that. Even 40-something women donât sometimes (50 Shades of Fake-BDSM, anyone?).
So yeah, I get why itâs a problem.
JKR said that several times and, although the way she said it was not cool at all (and she blocked a bunch of real HP fans for asking her about Draco and complaining about the way she was saying things) I can still see why sheâs concerned.
But to be honest, I think Draco is not the best example of Nazi or alt-right in HP that people love and admire. Snape, for instance, never had real redemption. He was just in love with this ONE PERSON. Also, he was a 30-something yo man, not a 16 yo boy. And still JKR herself loves him.
So I donât see how she really understands the problem. Her issue is with Drarry in particular - and she apparently changed her mind before Cursed Child, so really, itâs in the past.
Back to the issue: Draco is indeed a born and raised Nazi in that analogy. I do think we have to be careful when discussing fiction, even when problematic, because itâs really not the same as real life. But I can see where this point comes from. And I respect it, because I saw it like that for a long time.
How did I forgive him?
I am 25 yo right now and let me tell you, I was a child when I was 16. I didnât know ANYTHING. In fact, my bullies/enemies didnât know anything as well. I actually am friends with one nowadays and heâs a completely different person (a much better person). So yes, 16 is early to have a completely formed character.
From HBP you can see his redemption being slowly added into the main plotline and itâs a beautiful thing to see. Loving Drarry is about loving redemption and coming-of-age and to me thatâs one of the most beautiful and addictive aspects of this pairing. It wouldnât be the same at all without it.
But to be honest, in my head any fanfic I read has this same POV, so even if they donât address it throughout the fanfic, to me it happened at some point. Because I do believe people need to address the things that happen to them before they can move on.
And come on, pretty dark shit happened between them. Harry tried to kill Draco, Draco tried to kill Ron AND Dumbledore. Itâs something very dark and in MY personal experience, I would have to deal with it to be able to look the other person in the eye.
So yeah, I agree that to me, right now, these kinds of fanfics are the most relatable and I almost donât consider anything else plausible TO ME. But also, if you feel forgetting is better, hey, be my guest. Liking fluffy Draco doesnât mean you love Nazis. I think that should be obvious to you guys.
That was my point the whole time and I think she never said anything different from that: liking Draco DOES NOT make you a Nazi supporter. But thinking about it and trying to explore real redemption can be the best way to make peace with the actual political climate and our favourite characters.
And also, PLEASE try not to start shit with each other in here. Just because we disagree about something, it doesnât mean we canât be friends. Itâs not like any of you are actual Nazi supporters, right? (In that case, please fuck off forever).
