We've reached it! The taking of the Hawthorne wand. One of the best moments in the book. And also one of the darryest.
Harry doesn't disarm Draco with magic. He physically takes the wands from him. But Draco never even tries to shoot a spell at Harry which he could easily have done since he's literally holding the wands while Harry is trying to pull them out of his grip. I think in that moment Draco doesn't lose; he surrenders.
At first he puts up a fight because it's his instinct and he because he knows that it's what he's supposed to do and because Voldemort's punishment for letting Harry escape will be so awful and Draco's so, so scared of what will happen to him and to his family. So he tries to fight back but he just can't. He can't hurt Harry. He can't be the one to stop him from escaping.
Because he loves him. Yes Draco wants Voldemort to fail. But I think that alone isn't enough to motivate him to risk so much and to offer so completely his loyalty and his power. It's love that makes him do it.
And so he gives in. He lets Harry take everything - lets him go, lets him escape, lets him take Draco's own wand. And that's why the wand feels so friendly. Not just because Harry won it. Not just because since Draco and Harry are so compatible, Draco's wand is compatible with Harry. (Though there's some hella drarry implications there already). But ALSO because Draco WANTED Harry to have the wand and felt loyalty for him and cared for him. And so the wand reflected that.
Also I'd like to note that at no point does Draco try to grab the wands back while Harry is distracted attacking Greyback. And in turn Harry never attacks Draco once he's got the wand.
And maybe Draco regrets what he did as he suffers Voldemort's wrath and thinks he and his whole family are going to die in agony and curses his own weakness. But it's done. And somewhere inside he's probably glad of that - glad that he can't go back on his decision now.
Rewatching Timebreaker, in hindsight to knowing what the watch is, this intro to it makes it so weird.
Specifically the watch's ability to make a hologram.
Assuming this watch was always planned to be the Rabbit Miraculous, does that mean that all Miraculous can make holograms? Or have some unique minor ability they can do and this is what the Rabbit can do?
Which, for something related to time travel, it's kinda random.
Unless Rabbit wasn't planned to have time traveling powers, but potentially, originally was the illusionist instead of Fox.
Which wouldn't be too much of a stretch for Rabbit.
White rabbits are an iconic animal that's tied to magicians, who are expert illusionists.
To add to it, the rabbit is tied the trickster archetype. Europe has tied rabbits to other-worldliness and the fae. And there is an Indian fable of the Clever Rabbit and the Foolish/Hungry Lion. Where the Lion decreed all animals were to sacrifice themselves so he can eat, and when it was the Rabbit's turn, the Rabbit told the Lion that there was another lion nearby, and led the Lion to a well/watering hole and pointed to the reflection in the water. The Lion drowned trying to fight his reflection, saving the Rabbit and other animals from being devoured.
Which a reflection can count as another illusion.
This can even work off Alice in Wonderland as illusions can be tied to dreams, and they can be creative and surreal and strange.
As for the time motif, it can play off time is an illusion.
So IF that watch was always planned to be the Rabbit Miraculous, I wonder if it was originally the illusionist instead of the time traveler; as the ability for the watch to make a hologram is just so random.
As for Fox, given that Volpina "the False Fox" was an illusionist, there was a possibility that the actual Fox wasn't. And Thomas Astruc had confirmed that Pied Piper was a Fox (hence the flute).
Potentially, Fox originally had a power of hypnosis or subconscious manipulation through music, also working off how music can influence you.
Which this ability is what I associate Pied Piper with more than illusions, and it would work better off Fox playing the flute to use the power, as playing it to make illusions is a weird choice. Anyone hearing that music would know an illusion is coming, but not so if the music could enthrall you and influence how you perceive the world, what you register.
To add to it, this can work off the 9 tailed foxes too, I have read that some did have the ability to hypnotize; this can also work off that infamous ability to possess a target, taking over another.
A lot of this is just speculation though.
It's hard to say if the watch even was always planned to be a Miraculous, if the Zodiac were even always planned. Some things just feel like they rolled out and there were definite changes that had been made, some of which I'm sure were done to keep to the status quo easier and not drastically change up the story (like Mayura was built up to be a bigger bad and bigger threat, actually be HM's boss, but nah, that'd change up too much, can't have that).
We don't have much time left until Miraculous World: London - At the Edge of Time premiere so I decided to write out everything about it that's in my mind so maybe that “some thoughts” is gonna be a little bit longer.
Anyways, here it comes!
This is the person that concerns me the most.
At first glance, this person clearly has a power that associates with time. They have a giant clock on their forehead and pretty much all over their costume and might be able to jump in time as well.
Now let's take a look at this shot:
Look at their left hand. It looks like they're holding something, something thin, it looks like it's either a tablet or a notebook. It also seems like they have a pen or something similar in their right hand.
Could it be that it's the same notebook where it's written in that Ladybug = Marinette Dupain-Cheng?
It's a mystery how long they have been lurking in the dark in the Agreste mansion's basement to gain what they needed. Did they just arrive, been there during the whole fight? Or maybe they've been here much longer than we could imagine. It seems this might be the moment when this person learns who's Paris's beloved heroine, they write it down then disappear to deliver the notebook into Lila's lair.
But where's Lila? She just leaves Nooro and the Butterfly Miraculous behind like that while someone breaks in her place to deliver crucial information. Is she in the toilet or something? She'll receive the notebook eventually but this whole setup looks very suspicious. It really looks like that stand got placed precisely there so that Clock Head (I will call them that from now on) could neatly place the notebook on it. And what are those boxes?
Now let's speculate where they might have gotten their powers.
This was the initial thought when there wasn't any trailer just leaks, after all the Rabbit Miraculous is able to give its users the ability to travel through different times. But after seeing how this dude uses their powers, that is they don't use the Burrow to travel in time, it got debunked right away, so there's no point in speculating over this anymore.
But we know that the two Bunnyx that we encountered so far possess three Rabbit Miraculous. One is used by mini Bunnyx, the other one is used by adult Bunnyx and the third one is the Kubdel family heirloom watch Alix got for her birthday. Now, it's possible that future Alix still uses the heirloom if they haven't fixed hers that was damaged by future Chat Noir. But either way, there are three Rabbit Miraculous that we saw and now there's someone who could use the third one: Marinette to become Chronobug. If she uses the third one that doesn't have an owner that we know about then neither present nor future Alix have to give up theirs for this.
And I'd like to use this point to speculate on where Marinette got her Ladybug Miraculous from.
The first thought was, she got it from her future self which seems eligible but after looking at the trailers for the 63637x time I have another theory on that.
Look at this scene from the French trailer:
This doesn't seem to fit in with everything that's happening. Why would Marinette put away her Miraculous? And why put it in a drawer? She's the Guardian, wouldn't it be more logical for her to put in the Miracle Box?
Unless, it's not present Marinette but her from the past. This whole scene looks pretty much alike with what happened in "Origins" when she first hesitated to use the Ladybug Miraculous because she didn't trust herself enough to become a superhero. Present Marinette using this particular part of her past to get a Miraculous seems valid since she didn't use it for a little while here and if she takes it, it will feel like it's just gone for a moment anyways.
So, she hops in with Bunnyx's help, takes her Miraculous then gets the third Rabbit Miraculous as well and then she can become Chronobug to save the World.
Clock Head's power coming from an Akuma seems more likely to be the case. Anyway, I'd like to use this opportunity to draw attention to this conversation between the Kwamis and Gabriel in "Destruction":
Gabriel to Orikko: You! You can grant me any power I want. You'll give me power to travel through time!
Orikko: No you're mistaken. Time travel is Fluff's power and I can't grant a power that already belongs to another Kwami.
Gabriel: Are you trying to deceive me?
Orikko: By all means, read the Grimoire again.
Sass: Each Kwami represents a concept and each concept can only exist once in the Universe.
...
It was a very interesting conversation. Orikko can't give the power of time travel to anyone because it already exists, if I understand correctly. But what about Nooroo? Timetagger is an Akumatized villain from the future who's able to travel through time. So it looks like, while Orikko is unable to grant powers that belong to other Kwamis Nooroo's ability can give those powers, or at least it's the case with time travel.
But what about what Sass said? "Each Kwami represents a concept and each concept can only exist once in the Universe." If each concept can only exist once wouldn't that mean the Akumatization also shouldn't be able to give the power of time travel since it belongs to another Kwami? Nooroo's and Orikko's abilities are clearly very different, but that doesn't mean that different rules should apply to them in the same Universe. Maybe I just missed something if that's the case, please inform me.
Anyhow, the Butterfly Miraculous's power gives very unique abilities to the Akumatized people and that might be the reason why it can also grant powers that already exist, because they're slightly different from each other.
But if that's the case why haven't we seen Gabriel use this; not giving the ability to travel through time with Orikko's power but using Nooroo's to give a different but still essentially the same ability to either to himself or to someone else? Or...wait...hmm...
We already witnessed episodes where someone from the future comes to either mess up things or to fix it, but we haven't seen someone from the past stirring up the present. I'm not necessarily saying that Gabriel has it in him to come up with such a plan and it wouldn't even make sense that Clock Head puts the notebook with the information into the lair of the next holder of the Butterfly Miraculous if they'd be Monarch's minion.
But what if the reason why Gabriel set Lila aside was because he looked into the future with a power given by an Akuma to either him or to someone else and discovered that the future Hawkmoth Timetagger mentioned is her. Or even better, what if Gabriel and future Lila are actually working together? That the whole sacrifice he made was actually just part of their plan alongside bringing Gabriel back eventually? Or past Gabriel and future Lila are competing with each other to see who's the better Hawkmoth? Okay, these scenarios are just products of my tired brain, let's move on.
Anyways, my final conclusion with Clock Head reverts back to the future (lol).
The above setup in Lila's lair is oddly specific as I mentioned before, as if she waited for the notebook to appear right there. I'm starting to doubt that Timetagger is the only Akumatized villain that was sent from the future. Why? Lila found out Hawkmoth's identity in a way that's unknown to us. It could be just a coincidence but for a show that makes a huge deal out of secret identities, the fact that she just knew somehow feels a little odd. I think the reason she was able to discover it is because her future self is occasionally sending minions to her. Timetagger was the first, as we know, she might have had a test run with him and slowly put together a plan to gain the Cat and Ladybug Miraculouses; and Clock Head too, is someone sent by future Lila and they're the part of the ultimate plan.
I wouldn't dare to speculate on the gender of the character based on their figure since we all saw instances in Miraculous when that wasn't so obvious (I'm specifically talking about the New York special here) but i just want to put these three images beside each other.
Chat Noir and Aspik have slim enough frame like Clock Head has, and of course let's not forget about the similarities on Aspik's and Clock Head's masks. Also look at them legs on Chat Noir and Aspik and now look at them legs on Clock Head:
I've read some other theories before that also came to the conclusion that this is Baldrien, I mean Adrien and I can't really think of anyone else either. At the back of my mind there's still Lila as well tho and I will write about her more below.
We all know that Adrien was in London in his white room during the fight between Bug Noir and Monarch so there's no way he could be there at the end to write down Ladybug's identity into the notebook. Except, if it's future Adrien. He's actually a very easy target to Akumatization especially if the Butterfly Miraculous holder is aware of the fact that he's a Senti-being and targeted his Amok, the twin rings specifically. And he showed us multiple times how emotionally unstable he can be. Also, future Chat Noir damaging future Bunnyx's Miraculous was really just an accident? Plus, seeing an Akumatized Adrien could be a good trigger on why Marinette will never want to reveal the full truth to him. This is the only way I can also explain these two shots:
It looks like these scenes are in the London lab where Adrien and Kagami were held captives and no one really knows about that place and what went down there. So if Clock Head is Adrien from the future he could very well hide there since he knows about that location.
Either way, whoever are they, one thing I'm certain about is that this person will be the endgame, that after Chronobug defeats them at the right time and use her Lucky Charm that will mark the end of the special, since it was them in the first place who discovered Ladybug's identity.
I saw others call them Ghost Guy so I'll also call them that.
When I first read the synopsis I was very sceptical about the someone has stolen the Ladybug Miraculous while Marinette was asleep part. She's very wary especially after what happened with Felix. But now seeing that the person who steals the Miraculouses is having ghost-like abilities, I'm more convinced.
Ghost Guy probably read the notes the other dude left at Lila's lair, went to Marinette's room, stole all Miraculous, not just the Cat and Ladybug one then visited her lair again to deliver them and from the looks of it they also put them into those boxes that probably got prepared for that purpose.
I also have a feeling that the glowing blue light on their hands indicates when they're able to touch something even when they're transparent.
I saw some theories on who this person might be. I've read it's either Adrien or Lila, maybe Felix. I tried to make something out of the symbol that's on their chest, hopefully it has some connection to who could this be, however it doesn't ring any bell to me. If someone has any idea about this don't hesitate to share it.
For me Lila seems to be the most logical possibility. The only evidence I have that it's her is the sheer fact that this person is standing in Lila's lair right after they deliver the Miraculouses and put them in those carefully positioned boxes, near the notebook where their accomplice, who's supposedly from the future, wrote down who's Ladybug. Not a solid evidence with a bunch of holes; both of them could be working for her for all we know.
The end of the synopsis said this: All that remains is to hope for one thing: that Ladybug succeeds in defeating her opponent, otherwise it will be the end of Ladybug for good.
Now this could be just a figure of speech to indicate that everything will be wiped out but why only mention Ladybug when the whole World is in danger? My theory is that based on that snip of the synopsis that the wish was for Ladybug to never exist. And that makes perfect sense if the one who will make the wish is Ghost Lila, since she despises Marinette and Ladybug to the core.
She was there at the Agreste Mansion when the battle happened between Bug Noir and Monarch.
I assume she was there to collect the Butterfly Miraculous which seems rather suspicious, like how did she know it will be lost in the rubble? Her future self told her? Anyway, the brooch probably was her top priority and didn't have time to look around or to sneak a peek when Bug Noir de-trasnformed. Not to mention she wasn't the only one who was there, Clock Head had to be there around the same time as her.
But here is the thing: when Clock Head brings the notebook to her lair, Nooroo with the Butterfly Miraculous and the whole set up was already there. Assuming that Lila has some help from the future, she can put those boxes and the stand beforehand, but she had to bring back Nooroo in record time. And I have two more theories regarding this.
The lair that we see in the trailers is actually future Lila's place. Future Lila sent Clock Head (Adrien?) back in time to gain the information about Ladybug then they delivered the notebook to the future, then future Lila went as Ghost Guy to collect the Miraculouses from present Marinette and then made a wish. I have one problem with this theory: it completely removes present Lila from the picture; also what the lair looks like is the same as we saw before in the present.
I know that above I already kind of established the Clock Head is Adrien theory but I'd like to back down from that here and say it's actually Lila from the future. Future Lila went back in time to find out who's Ladybug, while present Lila collected the Butterfly Miraculous. In present Lila's lair she already set up the stand and the boxes because she got informations from her future self about a plan where she can get the Miraculouses from the Guardian. Present Lila went back to her lair in record time with the brooch, then future Lila brought the notebook which present Lila read. Present Lila then became Ghost Guy, went to Marinette's room fetched the Miraculouses then went back to her lair and after she carefully placed the Miraculouses, she made a wish with the Cat and Ladybug ones. My problem with this scenario is, it completely neglects Adrien, since here present and future Lila work together as the Clock Head and Ghost Guy. And why would she go to the London lab?
My last question remains, why are there only three boxes displayed on the desk? There are 15 Miraculous that got modified into rings. Maybe Ghost Guy put there those that they need and put away the ones that they think are useless. Or those are not even Miraculouses? We can't see them clearly in the picture after all.
This scene was put at the very end of the last episode of season 5, after the pool scene, but we don't really know when it happened.
If the scenes are in chronological order then what happened there has nothing to do with the happenings in the London special since the London special is before the pool scene. And that seems more reasonable to me, since when she talks with Mr. Damocles via laptop it looks like he just moved from somewhere or to somewhere which requires some time to do; and from the moment he left his job to Monarch's attack I don't think that much time has passed for him to make so much progress in moving. And let's not forget that he's The Owl, he probably helped people after Monarch's defeat to get back on their feet and didn't have much time to talk about school with anyone for a while.
In any case, whether this scene is right after she gained the Butterfly Miraculous or after the pool one, I think it's one of her visitors from the future. Or maybe Gabriel from the past.
And this concludes my speculations. What do you think of all this?
Ok, so here we go.
Today I lost someone from my family and I also started shit in here without meaning to. Since I can’t bring people back from the dead, I can at least clear the air with the person I offended (and I already did it). So anons, please stop sending me messages of support or calling me a bitch. It literally makes no difference to me.
What I would like to do then is share my views on the topic because I do think we need to discuss it. It’s extremely relevant right now.
And I do this because it’s what I should have done from the beginning: express my POV without lowkey saying “you’re wrong”. It’s a lovely process to be part of this fandom and we can disagree (as we usually do in everything) but respect each other’s POVs.
So here’s my personal experience with “Draco Malfoy is an analogy for Nazi youth” and I hope you can share yours and we can grow together.
It is common knowledge that the Death Eaters are an analogy to Nazis. I mean, it’s freaking obvious. So yes, sometimes I find it bizarre when people romanticise them and tattoo dark marks and shit. At the same time, though, I understand that fiction is not real life, so that doesn’t really mean they are Nazi sympathisers. Actually, most HP readers are just the opposite.
Now talking about Draco specifically: for a looooong time I felt like SHIT for liking this ship. It’s nothing new if you follow my personal posts. I used to literally ask God to cure me from this disorder. So yeah, highkey self-loathing.
The thing that made me make peace with this pairing was Deathly Hallows. I don’t think I would still be a shipper without it. Both because it developed their relationship and because it gave me a glimpse of hope for Draco’s redemption.
I love Draco. He’s one of my favourite characters in the whole of Literature. I am literally obsessed with him. And at the same time I am a crazy activist who wants to punch Nazis in the face. So how can I be both?
First of all, because I have so clear to me the difference between fiction and real life. And that’s something that I can only vouch for myself. Young girls don’t always have that. Even 40-something women don’t sometimes (50 Shades of Fake-BDSM, anyone?).
So yeah, I get why it’s a problem.
JKR said that several times and, although the way she said it was not cool at all (and she blocked a bunch of real HP fans for asking her about Draco and complaining about the way she was saying things) I can still see why she’s concerned.
But to be honest, I think Draco is not the best example of Nazi or alt-right in HP that people love and admire. Snape, for instance, never had real redemption. He was just in love with this ONE PERSON. Also, he was a 30-something yo man, not a 16 yo boy. And still JKR herself loves him.
So I don’t see how she really understands the problem. Her issue is with Drarry in particular - and she apparently changed her mind before Cursed Child, so really, it’s in the past.
Back to the issue: Draco is indeed a born and raised Nazi in that analogy. I do think we have to be careful when discussing fiction, even when problematic, because it’s really not the same as real life. But I can see where this point comes from. And I respect it, because I saw it like that for a long time.
How did I forgive him?
I am 25 yo right now and let me tell you, I was a child when I was 16. I didn’t know ANYTHING. In fact, my bullies/enemies didn’t know anything as well. I actually am friends with one nowadays and he’s a completely different person (a much better person). So yes, 16 is early to have a completely formed character.
From HBP you can see his redemption being slowly added into the main plotline and it’s a beautiful thing to see. Loving Drarry is about loving redemption and coming-of-age and to me that’s one of the most beautiful and addictive aspects of this pairing. It wouldn’t be the same at all without it.
But to be honest, in my head any fanfic I read has this same POV, so even if they don’t address it throughout the fanfic, to me it happened at some point. Because I do believe people need to address the things that happen to them before they can move on.
And come on, pretty dark shit happened between them. Harry tried to kill Draco, Draco tried to kill Ron AND Dumbledore. It’s something very dark and in MY personal experience, I would have to deal with it to be able to look the other person in the eye.
So yeah, I agree that to me, right now, these kinds of fanfics are the most relatable and I almost don’t consider anything else plausible TO ME. But also, if you feel forgetting is better, hey, be my guest. Liking fluffy Draco doesn’t mean you love Nazis. I think that should be obvious to you guys.
That was my point the whole time and I think she never said anything different from that: liking Draco DOES NOT make you a Nazi supporter. But thinking about it and trying to explore real redemption can be the best way to make peace with the actual political climate and our favourite characters.
And also, PLEASE try not to start shit with each other in here. Just because we disagree about something, it doesn’t mean we can’t be friends. It’s not like any of you are actual Nazi supporters, right? (In that case, please fuck off forever).
✨Webtoon Recommendation✨
Title: Touch Me Not!
Where to read: Webtoon (Canvas)
An Isekai webtoon set in the 19th century Philippines and based on the famous Filipino classic novel, Noli Me Tangere by Dr. Jose Rizal.
Sam was an ordinary modern-day English language teacher who went to a bookstore to buy the novel her foreign student wants to read. On her way, she saw her high school classmate, Luke, who is now a history teacher. She pretended not to see him since they're not really close back then, only to find out they were both looking for the same book: the Noli Me Tangere. But due to a high demand and fewer supply, the book was sold out everywhere (lol). However, the bookshop clerk told them there's still one copy left, so the two of them started bickering on who found the book first until a blackout happened and Sam lost consciousness. When she woke up, she found herself in the world of Noli Me Tangere. It's worse enough to be isekai'd inside a historical novel with tragic ending, until Sam found out she even became Maria Clara, the novel's female lead who was the epitome of beauty and grace. Meanwhile, Luke also got transported in the same novel as Crisostomo Ibarra, the idealistic male lead. Now the two of them have to find a way to go back to the real world, while trying to keep the flow of the original novel.
Since this series is in Webtoon Canvas, please expect slower updates and shorter chapters, but this is definitely a must-read! And I'm so happy to finally see an Isekai webtoon about my country's history and culture 💜 I also recommend reading the Noli Me Tangere novel (if you're curious about it, it's available online in English, Spanish and Tagalog versions) since it's not a typical romance story. It's more of a political and social satire, and I'm glad the webtoon mirrors it.
This will be fucking updated when I fucking remember more examples. Very fucking aggressive language because I am fucking pissed off.
Are you willing to fucking learn? Are you willing to set aside your shipping goggles? Are you willing to fucking look beyond what the writers tell you to see what they show you? Then fucking read on.
But if you’re going to fucking ignore all of this and insist that Adrien is a good person who treats Marinette with respect and ‘always stops when she’s uncomfortable?’ then fuck off right now and block me because I am sick of the fucking rape apologism that runs rampant in this fucking fandom
Yes you fucking read that right. Rape apologism.
========================
(Episodes are not listed in any particular order. Maybe someday I’ll put them in chronological order but that’s a lot of effort.
———————————————————
In Ladybug, he attacked her because she wasn’t in love with him. He chose a fantasy over the real her, and attacked her twice because she wasn’t in love with him. First he threw his baton at her. And then he fucking tried to Cataclysm her. He would have lost his fucking Miraculous if she hadn’t fucking gotten him away from the Sentimonster and how does he fucking repay her? By fucking attacking her because she’s not in love with him.
———————————————————
In Syren, he blackmailed Plagg with letting over two million people drown so that Plagg would tell him someone else’s secret identity. He grabbed Marinette’s wrist to stop her from leaving and guilt-tripped her for not telling him information he knew she wasn’t at liberty to reveal to him, which he even fucking admit out loud just to make her feel bad!
———————————————————
In Oblivio, he sat on the ground and verbally harassed her while forcing her to defend him, herself, AND fight the Akuma all on her own. Because of him, they both got their memories erased by the villain, and while under the Akuma’s influence, they kissed. And then, when they got their memories back, and she found out they kissed, and she was genuinely upset and horrified? He laughed in her fucking face. And called them a couple again, for the third time in this episode alone, despite her telling him not to literally every time he does it. And then when she tells him off again, and tells him he’s the reason they got their memories erased in the first place, after she tells him AGAIN, TO STOP CALLING THEM A COUPLE, he laughs in her face and tells her “We’re meant to be together, m’lady, you’re the only one who doesn’t see it.”
———————————————————
In Weredad, he tried to kiss her, and the only reason he didn’t suceeed was because the Akuma pulled her away. And the reason that happened? Because she was singlehandedly trying to save her parents’ lives while he stood there harassing her and refusing to help, and didn’t show any fucking concern at all for the civilians even though he knows they’re Marinette’s parents, and even after a fucking concrete statue was smashed into her bedroom, he still didn’t show any fucking concern at all.
———————————————————
In Stormy Weather, the Akuma threw him to the ground, and Marinette offered him a hand to get back to his feet. He accepted her hand, and instead of letting go, kissed it, forcing her to push him away.
An Akuma turns off the lights in a building, and Adrien has to lead Marinette outside because he can see in the dark and she can’t. Which is fine.
Except that when they get outside, he fucking refuses to let go of her hand, Even when she glares at him and makes it clear she wants him to let go.
He fucking smiles like a kid caught with their hand in the cookie jar, showing He knows that it is wrong, he knows she wants him to let go, but guess what??? He still doesn’t fucking let go.
She is forced to pull her hand away from him.
And then he has the fucking gall to laugh. And we’re meant to be laughing right along with him, because the 45 year old white men writing this show think boys touching girls without their consent is funny.
———————————————————
In Reflectdoll, he tried again to kiss her hand, but her reflexes are fucking faster now, literally because she’s been dealing with him for three fucking seasons now, so she managed to pull away in time, and you literally don’t even need to fucking pause the scene to see the horror on her face when she realizes what he’s about to do.
[ID: A screenshot from the Miraculous Ladybug episode Reflektdoll, showing Adrien as Chat Noir holding Marinette as Ladybug’s hand, in the process of leaning down to kiss it. Marinette is staring, her mouth fallen open and her eyes bugging out of her head in horror. End ID.]
She then immediately fucking crosses her arms over her chest and turns away form him so he can’t try again
And then he fucking calls her Buggaboo, literally just to piss her off.
Not to mention he almost fucking made her Lucky Charm fail and did not fucking apologize for almost costing them the fight against the fucking supervillain. Instead of fucking apologizing, he told her that she’s the responsible one, and he’s the funny one, so he’s under no obligation to fucking help her to the best of his ability, so if she’s upset with him not helping, it’s her fault for not being more responsible
———————————————————
In Glaciator, he asked her out on a date, she politely turned him down by saying she already had plans with friends, he blew off his friends and lied to them about it, then when she didn’t fucking come to the date she said she wouldn’t be coming to, he punished her by being snarky and mean, and implied that She was fucking lying about going out with friends, even though he literally fucking lied to his so-called friends and blew off their plans together and refused to cooperate with he to take down the villain until she apologized to him.
After she explains that she’s in love with someone else and can’t return his feelings, he tells her he’s happy with her friendship.
And then he immediately fucking turns around and tells Plagg that he’s happy with her friendship FOR NOW.
The only reason he is “friends” with her is because he wants her to fall in love with him. He is literally being the literal fucking definition of a Nice Guy. He is the fucking asshole creep who thinks that being friends with you is a chore he has to put up with so he can get into your pants. Literally.

In Frozor, after she’s already fucking told him she’s in love with someone else and wants him to stop asking her out, he fucking once again asks her out, she fucking ONCE AGAIN tells him she wants him to stop, and his fucking response is, “I know that [you already told me you’ve in love with someone else and want me to stop asking you out], but if he weren’t here, would things be different between us?”
Can you literally fucking imagine someone asking you to break up with your fucking partner to date them instead? because that is what he is fucking telling her to do.
Don’t you fucking dare play dumb.
He literally admits out loud that he knows she’s asked him to stop and he knows she wants him to stop but he doesn’t fucking care and he’s going to continue anyways.
Look at the fucking anguish on her fucking face and tell me she’s consenting to this. I fucking dare you.
———————————————————
In Copycat, he lies to someone else about their relationship and causes the person to become Akumatized, then does not fucking confess to lying to anyone, and Marinette is the one who ends up apologizing to the Akuma victim, after Adrien fucking implies that it’s her fault he got Akumatized.
———————————————————
Anonymous said: In Prime Queen, “he fans Ladynoir flames on live tv, ignores Ladybug’s feelings and it was HIS idea to kiss for the akuma! (He also looked creepy during his first attempt ngl.) He tries to kiss her twice! And brings up the kiss a third time! The akuma doesn’t even care about the kiss! I don’t have a tumblr but I hope this'l l help get Adrien stans to step off. Everything he did felt wrong that episode.”
In Prime Queen, Adrien also gets right the fuck up in Nadjia’s personal space, fucking caging her in to her chair.
He literally doesn’t move out of her space until she smacks him in the face with her hand by accident.
He calls her Marinette Buggaboo once again, and she once again reiterates that she wants him to stop calling her that.
The moment the idea of them dating is brought up, Marientte recoils, Adrien perks up excitedly.
When Marinette says they aren’t a couple, Adrien buts in that they might be one day, so that she has to turn and tell him “Chat, not now!”. He downplays her feelings, telling her that being asked invasive, personal questions is what they signed up for when they became superheroes.
He then tries to ask her out on a date even though she’s clearly upset and literally just told him she wants to keep their relationship professional. Later, he interrupts her when she’s talking to the Akuma, grabs her by the shoulder, spins her to face him and puts his hands on both her shoulders, makes a fucking serial killer expression, tells her, “Pucker up!”, and leans in to try and kiss her while he is holding her in place.
He stops when she tells him, “not a chance, kitty” but then not even five minutes later he fucking does it again.
And she once a-fucking-gain has to tell him to fucking stop.
Not even five fucking minutes after he did it the first time.
He took her “No” as “try harder”.
———————————————————
Every single fucking chance he gets, he is trying to kiss her, or leaning into her space, or touching her even though he knows she doesn’t want him to. Every chance he gets, he calls her Buggaboo, even though he knows she hates it. He calls them a couple, even though he knows she hates it. He goes out of his fucking way to piss her off and torment her, because he fucking thinks it’s funny.
Adrien violates every single fucking boundary Marinette sets, no matter how fucking clearly she words it, no matter how fucking simple it would be for him to fucking respect her. Ever single fucking chance he gets he is harassing her both verbally and physically, and yes, he has literally fucking assaulted her at least once because it doesn’t fucking matter that it’s a kiss on the hand instead of the mouth. She didn’t fucking give consent and he didn’t even fucking pretend ask for it. The kiss in Stormy Weather was assault. All of his fucking behavior towards her is sexual harassment.
Here’s A FANTASTIC post by @thewheezingbubbledragon that details Adrien’s abusive behavior in multiple situations, with screenshots for proof.
It doesn’t fucking matter that he’s not harassing her to have sex with him. There is no fucking category of sexual harassment called “romantic harassment”. Any fucking unwanted requests or statements or touching or attempted touching of sexual or romantic nature is fucking sexual harassment.
literally any unwanted touching or attempted touching at all is assault.
Just bcause you ship it doesn’t mean it’s not sexual harassment. Just because you ship it doesn’t mean he’s not abusing her. Just because you like him doesn’t mean he isn’t a fucking horrible person.

Here is a link to a post with infographics explaining rape culture
@miraculousladybugandconsent literally just has resources explaining sexual harassment, abusive relationships, and healthy relationships.

The best way to do this would be to create a new post, with the name of the episode, and examples of Adrien’s behavior, and then you can @ me and let me know to add it to this, and I’ll copy and paste it in. If you can include screenshots or gifs, even better.
in the bathroom scene what are the spells that harry and draco used on each other? truthfully i only remember crucio and sectumsempra but i vaguely remember that they actually dueled before those two spells
We don't know exactly. Draco attacks first with what Harry describes as a hex and his next spell is a nonverbal spell that destroys a sink. Harry tries Levicorpus (shout out to Draco for being a good enough dueler to block a nonverbal spell - especially from Harry given that Harry has VERY fast reflexes and is a deadly dueler) and then a leg-locker curse. Interestingly, not only is Harry clearly NOT trying to hurt Draco (or even come close, since he's using much milder spells than Draco is) but also both the spells he tries are things that would restrain Draco but not incapacitate him in any way, thus allowing Harry to speak to him.
Obviously it doesn't work out. Draco completely loses it and attempts to use an Unforgivable - the only time he ever tries one of those spells out of anger (not sure it would've actually worked tho) but before he can finish casting Harry tries the first thing he can think of - Sectumsempra - with deadly but very clearly unintended results.
Also once again shoutout to the fact that Harry witnesses Draco 1) saying some hugely incriminating things and 2) attempting to use an illegal curse that carries a lifetime prison sentence and says...nothing about it to any authorities. Given that Lucius is already in jail and out of favor by that point he could've quite possibly gotten Draco expelled or even jailed if he reported his attempted use of an Unforgivable. But he doesn't. Instead he backs off. He puts Draco's safety and happiness above stopping him from whatever it is he's trying to do because he is so deeply affected by seeing Draco cry and by having almost killed him.
I think it speaks to his special regard for Draco because I can't imagine him reacting that way to a duel with Crabbe or Goyle or Snape or any other Death Eater.
There's so much drarry content to comment on in this passage I hardly even know where to start.
1) Harry's animosity is all for Snape. The only time we really see him feel true anger towards Draco is at the end of 4th year. Otherwise he's rarely deeply angry at him. It would certainly be unsurprising if Harry blamed Draco for what happened, even if Snape struck the killing blow. But he doesn't. Quite the opposites in fact. He feels sympathy for Draco's plight and actively worries about him. Because he knows Draco so well that he can see right through him to the kind of person he really is - not a willing acolyte of Voldemort. And because Harry is drawn to and cares about Draco a lot more than his is willing to acknowledge, even to himself...
2) The thing Harry picks that he still blames Draco for is...his infatuation with the Dark Arts. Not his role in Dumbledore's death. Not anything he's ever done to Harry. Harry's nice but he's not usually THIS forgiving. Certainly not with people he doesn't care about or dislikes... And for all that Harry claims to dislike Draco he spends an awful lot of time worrying about him. Both here and in later passages as well as in book 7. In this section of book 6 he also claims Crabbe and Goyle look "lonely" without Draco but given the interactions we see between them in book 7 it's pretty unlikely they miss him so if anyone misses Draco and feels like his presence is something that has always been part of his life and that it's strange with out him...it's probably Harry.
3) It's also notable that even though Draco only had the chance to lower his wand a little bit Harry is utterly sure he wouldn't have killed Dumbledore. And instead of thinking about how Draco missed his chance to come back to the Light and now will fall deeper into the Dark, he worries about what Voldemort is "making" him do. Thus accepting that any further acts Draco carries out on Voldemort's behalf are against his will. He really understands Draco. And cares about his welfare. A lot more than an enemy or casual acquaintance would.
4) As an aside, it's also pretty hilarious that Harry's like 'Draco Malfoy? No I haven't thought about him much' *proceeds to spend an entire paragraph thinking about him and worrying if he's ok and then brings him up again a few paragraphs later*
So it seems that not only did Harry shift blame away from Draco in book 6 in the immediate aftermath of Dumbledore's death (x) but apparently based on this bit from book 7 it looks like when Ministry officials arrived he didn't implicate Draco at all and instead only gave evidence about Snape's guilt despite the fact that he heard Draco confess to a number of crimes.
The lengths he goes to to shield Draco are actually wild. Guess all our headcanons where he testifies on Draco's behalf don't go far enough lol.
Fanon Harry: Yes Draco made terrible mistakes but he shouldn't go to Azkaban because if you look at the whole context it's clear he was coerced and didn't want to do it and subsequently changed his mind and even risked his life to save mine so he deserves a second chance.
Canon Harry: Idk what you all are talking about. I was on the Astronomy Tower the night Dumbledore died and I only saw Snape. And sure someone Imperiused Rosmerta and made her pass on poisoned mead and a cursed necklace but anyone could've done that. If we had a witness who overheard the perpetrator confess their guilt then we'd know. But. Sadly. We don't. :)
Draco sitting in his own trial listening to Harry's version of events:
„Nothing. Hah. Nothing. You know nothing about me, about us, about them. I‘m everywhere. I‘m nowhere. I‘m a chameleon. Nowhere. You won‘t get anywhere.“
——~~~——
Not gonna lie, I really don‘t like what they did to Marinette. The girl is struggling…. We get that…. But did they really have to make her act like this? She can‘t even really keep it together als Ladybug anymore. She can be lucky that the miraculous prevents people from noticing the obvious similarities.
But back to Cerise! We don‘t see her face in the entire episode. We only have her voice but that’s enough already. After all, sound is almost more important than visuals. What would Micheal Myers be without the iconic sound. Try it. Mute the movies. It won‘t work.
But anyway. I wonder, when she akumatized that girl, this is how she handles things. She just talks and offers a solution like a good friend. Siding with her victim. She doesn’t even demand anything. No „I’ll give you that power. In return I want Ladybugs and Chat Noirs miraculous!“ No. None of that!
Also, the camera zoomed in, almost like we were going into the victims head. Is this what actually happens to you, when you get akumatized? Bah! Imagine having Gabriel in your head like that! No sir. Thank you!
Could it be, that up until now, we saw the whole process from the outside? That would be so cool. It would also mean that Cerise clearly….. goes deeper that Gabriel could.
Also, we learned something very important. Apparently, they don‘t know better yet, Cerise akumatizes people randomly without the goal to attack. She just lets them cause chaos and the heroes come out. At first.
We also learn that Cerise writes EVERYTHING down!! Like girl, be careful with your hand! That must hurt! Also she technically creates tons of evidence. If she looses ONE of those notebooks, it’s game over. Unless she writes in code….. would not be surprised.
Also the end of the episode, where she is in the café „Nothing. Hah. Nothing. You know nothing about me, about us, about them. I‘m everywhere. I‘m nowhere. I‘m a chameleon. Nowhere. You won‘t get anywhere.“
I am not sure if she completely lost it NOW, if she ALWAYS was crazy like this, or, with her disguises and all, she is completely stating the truth.
But I know one thing.
I LOVE HER FOR IT!! I can‘t wait to actually see her! Also it seems like she upgraded her miraculous, just like Marinette did with all the others. At least that’s what I heard, could be a leak. She got the guardians book too after all from Nathalie in that one episode, together with all of Gabriel’s secrets.
So yeah… the new season started…. A bit meh. I really wish they could have given us the REAL first episode. But it seems like there is something wrong with the continuity anyway. Alya and Nino interviewed Sublime‘s mom, but she didn’t appear yet…. Strange….
But anyway, we might be missing some lore here.
I am still excited for more.
THIS BIT. THIS BIT THO. Because remember, this is from BEFORE Harry even lands on his "Malfoy is a Death Eater” theory. Like. He hasn't even figured it out yet. But he still spends the entire last week of his VACATION thinking about Draco.
He's in denial though. Obviously he's not obsessed with Draco. No. Draco is just objectively a fascinating topic. And therefore it's totally rational to be annoyed that Ron and Hermione don't want to take part in the perfectly normal hobby of discussing Draco Malfoy 24/7. How dare they?
I just know that after drarry finally happens someone asks Ron if seeing the two of them together feels weird and Ron's like 'honestly it was weirder when they weren't together.'
