Nap-Time! Sirius Lupin-Black + Teddy Lupin-Black
A picture from an AU I haven’t done anything with just yet, but I need to get to writing it. I’ve already fully drafted it, but writing takes a while. Anyways, yeah, here it is!
Casually falling in love with this
Sirius burst into the Gryffindor dormitory after detention and nearly fainted.
“Moony…” Sirius stammered, his voice cracking. “That’s…that’s mine.”
“I hope you don’t mind,” Remus yawned. He was curled up on Sirius’s bed wearing a pair of red plaid pajama bottoms, gray wool socks and…
And Sirius’s quidditch jersey.
“But…” Sirius’s tongue felt heavy and his brain felt sluggish. He couldn’t make words. He could barely make coherent thoughts.
“Sorry, do you want me to take it off?” Remus asked, sitting up slowly and moving to pull the jersey over his head.
“No!” Sirius said, practically diving across the bed at him. He didn’t know what would be worse for his predicament, seeing Remus in his jersey or seeing Remus without his jersey.
“I just was so tired after my shower,” Remus said sleepily, snuggling back onto Sirius’s pillow. “I couldn’t find my pajama shirt, and your jersey was right on your bed, so I put it on. Then I laid down, and I think I fell asleep, and…I hope you don’t mind.”
Whether or not Sirius “minded” was not really the problem. The problem was how cute Remus looked with the oversized jersey slipping off his shoulder, his fingers just poking out of the too-long sleeves, and the name “BLACK” emblazoned across his back. The problem was how Sirius’s pillow would smell like Remus’s woodsy scent of tea and moss and parchment, and the drowsy rasp of his voice making little shots of electricity fire up Sirius’s spine.
Normally Remus was all sharp sarcasm, standoffish mischief, and dry jokes, but in the days before the full moon, he was constantly exhausted and could drift off to sleep anywhere. His friends joked that he could probably sleep through a dementor attack. The Marauders would often find him curled up asleep in ridiculous spots, like the curve of the stairway up to the dormitory or on a window ledge in Gryffindor tower with his face planted in a book, and Sirius and James would take turns scooping him up and depositing him onto his bed.
Sirius had diligently ignored the bubbling, fizzy feeling he got in his stomach whenever Remus nestled his head into Sirius’s shoulder when he carried him across the dorm or when Remus laughed at one of his jokes at the lunch table. Remus was his friend, a Marauder, and there was no way—no way at all—he’d think about Sirius in any other way.
But now Remus was all adorable in Sirius’s quidditch shirt, laying on his bed, and now he was—no, Merlin, this was terrible—he was motioning for Sirius to come over.
“Spoon me,” he demanded through a yawn.
This was another thing that happened to Remus before the full moon. His usual “don’t touch me, don’t look at me” demeanor melted into a need for constant cuddles. It was James who usually obliged, and Sirius knew it was partly because James was essentially a hug in human form and partly to spare Sirius the mortification of having to snuggle the boy he was trying not to be in love with.
But now, James was in a separate detention with Peter, and Remus was pulling Sirius by the wrist onto the bed, and Sirius had no choice but to kick off his shoes, slot his knees behind Remus’s, and let his arm be dragged across Remus’s waist. Remus sighed contentedly, and Sirius felt the sweet little sound vibrate through his chest, making his skin tingle.
“Can I just sleep here tonight?” Remus mumbled into the pillow. “You’re a better cuddler than James or Pete.”
“Sure, Moony, whatever you need,” Sirius whispered, kissing the back of his head before he even realized what he was doing.
“Tomorrow, too, then,” Remus hummed back.
Well, Sirius thought, it’s official. I am truly screwed.

HAHA YES Sirius is on permanent “care for that boy” duty because he’s very worried about his boyfriend’s physical health
Me whenever I write about Sirius: Have I mentioned how TALL he is? How STRONG? Have I told you that he’s BROAD? That he’s TALL? That he’s so TALL and STRONG and BROAD?
Hey so only one of these people actually did this in canon and it was his main thing. Like. He has a whole famous line based on it. This is one of those questions where there is a right answer. And that answer is the guy who actually did it.
Trans!Regulus makes makes sense to me for a few reasons, honestly.
For one, it explains why it took so long for Sirius to be disowned. We know that the House of Black had very old values, so I can picture them not being accepting of trans people and not wanting a “woman” to be in charge. We know they disowned easily— think about Alphard— but they didn’t get rid of Sirius until he ran away. I could picture them keeping Sirius around to try and have a viable heir.
For two, it would give motivation for Regulus to rethink things. In the end, he did betray Voldemort, but, before that, he was wholly devoted to the cause. Maybe the reason he rethought things is because he realized he didn’t fit the mold, causing him to ask questions, before he figured it out and backtracked.
For three, I just like trans characters. Fuck JKR, she deserves to be pissed off by us making characters trans. I’d make Regulus trans if only to make her upset.

So I wrote this. Have fun
So we all know the AU where Sirius and Remus raise Harry, but I have a new suggestion. What if, after Alice and Frank are tortured to the point of insanity and James and Lily are murdered, Sirius and Remus take both Harry and Neville in.
Imagine Harry and Neville being raised as brothers with a solid support network. Imagine both of them having childhoods free of neglect and abuse and expectations. Them being raised with stories of their parents and a household full of love and kindness. Them getting to stay up at night, hiding out under the blankets with a flashlight to giggle about nothing. Them stealing cookie dough and bits of food while Sirius and Remus cook, making a competition out of it. Them going off to Hogwarts together, being sorted together, and having sleepovers in the same fourposter.
Then imagine little Teddy Lupin being born, probably when they’re still relatively young, maybe seven or eight. Them getting so excited, getting in Sirius and Remus’ bed to poke Remus’ stomach and talk to their baby sibling (and sometimes poke Sirius’ stomach just because they can). Them taking it upon themselves to teach Teddy new words and then turning it into a challenge to see who can teach them more. Them rushing Sirius to get them home from Hogwarts quicker every break so they can say hi to their little sibling. Them regaling Teddy with tales of the castle (some of which are more made up than others just to fuck with them) together.
Imagine their family being Sirius, Remus, Neville, Harry, and Teddy, living together and being happy. They all get a happy ending. They get to be safe and surrounded by love. Just… imagine.
??? You lack reading comprehension. You told to essentially mind my business… by reblogging a post you don’t like and getting in other people’s business? Go block tags. Nobody is stopping you. That’s how you refrain from seeing things you don’t want to see??
James Potter would sooner start a family with a boggart than ever be romantically involved with someone who has even the remotest interest in the Dark Arts.
Sirius Orion Black being the tallest, strongest, smartest, most powerful, and most attractive Marauder. Everyone in the castle wants a piece of him. He’s slept with most of the people in their year, along with the ones above and below theirs. He is, quite literally, the Casanova of Gryffindor Tower. He doesn’t study, but he still gets straight Os in every single class. He takes every single course for his NEWTs and gets Os in all of them. He’s one of those people that’s good at everything he gets his hands on. He’s friends with most people in Hogwarts, and has all sorts of connections with all sorts of people in every single social circle.
Enter Remus John Lupin, his geeky, awkward, kind of ugly, virgin, dork, studious, average height boyfriend. His idea of a wild evening is sitting in a corner, reading a book with some mildly sexual content with a cup of tea and a bar of chocolate. He clings to Sirius’ arm in social circumstances, twiddling his thumbs and silently watching everyone.
No one understands how, exactly, they got together. Everyone just knows that they’re absolutely adorable and madly in love.
LITERALLY! Because at least a boggart can’t choose whether or not it’s dark, whereas someone else can.
James Potter would sooner start a family with a boggart than ever be romantically involved with someone who has even the remotest interest in the Dark Arts.
Sirius already knows the new music teacher at Hogwarts, Derek Fawley. He probably should’ve told someone about it before Harry got involved.
“Sirius sobs into his chest, curling close to him, still unable to respond. He just cries, and Remus holds him, rubbing his back and playing with his hair, doing his best to comfort him. Tears soak into both Remus’ jumper and the pillow under his head.
Remus thinks that his statement about Harry’s life following Murphy’s Law may also be applicable to Sirius’ life.”
i have always been a Romulus Lupin truther!! I'm like you where I don't really like ocs if they impact the main plot but i make this once exception. Idk if it's my major bias towards Remus but he just doesn't seem like an only child to me and I think Hope and Lyall would've had more kids if Greyback never happened
I've seen a few hcs once that Romulus did exist but Remus killed him during a full moon before he joined Hogwarts so he never talks about him. Personally I go completely off of cannon in this instant and hc him to be six years older then Remus (im just a sucker for siblings) and he dies with Hope during the first war
I love your post on the possibilities of him sm, everything you said makes such perfect sense and it's just so heartbreaking to think of Remus having a twin brother who gets to be all the things he can't
You’re so real for the Romulus being older than Remus thing! Remus gives off such younger sibling vibes. On the topic of that, our Moony is definitely the younger twin. He’s definitely not older. They would definitely have had siblings if Greyback didn’t get involved, I think.
That headcanon that Remus killed him is wild. That would never happen. Hope and Lyall were so careful about it that’s it’s just kind of ludicrous. Him dying with Hope in the war definitely sounds much more plausible than a lot of the other Remus-has-a-brother things I’ve seen around.
I’m a sucker for angst, lol. I feel like they would both have a long few years of deep resentment, probably spurred on by going to Hogwarts and being treated the same by staff, then coming back home to the unbalanced treatment. They get along really well pre-Hogwarts, but things change and they grow more and more distant.
They end up working it out after Regulus dies, because it makes Remus realize that the possibility of losing a family member is very, very real, and he doesn’t want to end up like Sirius and his brother. Then they meet up, talk it through, and Romulus and Hope die like a year later. That got way darker than intended but y’know.
On more kids if Greyback didn’t happen, though: I think that Hope and Lyall were not only too busy with Remus, but also afraid of Greyback coming back for more. Although, Remus’ condition would take up a lot of time. I do think they’d have younger cousins, though (I have Remus’ whole family tree planned out in my head).
