My recent Mulder Walk-In headcanon - copypasta'd below - got a good response, so here's a tribute to the 90s X-Files comics showing a Walk-In replace Mulder to save him from his brain condition.

Details: season 8 of The X-Files reveals Mulder hid terminal illness from Scully (dumb). And somehow Scully the doctor missed it (dumber). And in season 9 he abandoned Scully and his baby child to hide like a coward (dumbest).

So what if Mulder was switched out by a Walk-In after the Samantha reunion in Season 7's Closure? This possession was to save Mulder from an even worse fate, but left him doing out of character things. When he returned from death (minus an autopsy, somehow - dumb!), he was still in place between both the physical and spiritual worlds, hence his running away after William's birth.

The Mulder we saw in the latter half of season 7 wasn't quite our Mulder. It could hide Mulder's physical status as a mirage. And this Walk-In Mulder even left a will asking not to be autopsied. Perhaps claiming to do so out of Jewish tradition or to keep his hybrid DNA out of official documents.

But really it was to ensure Scully didn't butcher his chances of resurrection. The Walk-In spirits knew the fate of the alien abductees, and had to 'replace' Mulder to ultimately keep him alive. Ultimately, after season 9, both versions of Mulder converged into one.

This would also explain David Duchovny's bored acting in season 7.

God I hate how normalized not being in control of your own devices has become. My phone updates in the middle of the night without asking me shit or getting my consent for anything and its like "Oh hi I'm your new AI, please enjoy this forced overlay that you can't exit out of until you go through my tutorial"

I'm a core system application and if you uninstall me your phone won't function correctly despite the fact that I did not exist yesterday and your phone worked fine" "....." Like, you know what I can do on my desktop? "sudo pacman -Rdd linux" , this will just fucking remove the entire linux kernel. Fundamentally breaking my computer until I boot up a live disk and chroot in and reinstall it or whatever, and the computer will go "Are you sure (y/n)" or whatever and i'm like "y" and it will just go "Ok you got it boss"

But its mine, I get to do what I want with it. I control the computer, the computer does not control me. I refuse to cede control to my phone or anything else. The thing is a lot of people will joke that like "Oh I love just letting the machine tell me what to do, I don't know what I'm doing, it knows best" or whatever but the thing you have to realize is that when you say that you are abstracting away that "the phone" or whatever is not some value neutral logic driven robot like from sci-fi, it is a collection of the the capitalistic and fascistic desires of the tech oligarch fuckwits that are burning the world to the ground right now. You aren't submitting to the phone, you are submitting to Musk, Bezos, Nadella, Pichai, Cook and all those other evil bastards.

Full disclosure: this is entirely NSFW, but insane NSFW. I don't know what you'd call it today? Whump? Torture porn? I don't fucking know. My details on it will be a little off because I was a very mentally ill teenager with limited access to the internet. I can't remember basic facts about my life, let alone this fucking website, but I'm now showing my wife The X-Files for the first time and I'm like "this fandom has some of the best fanfic ever but also the most insane?" and this has been plaguing me for the past five years. I lost the link I think?

It was a forum. I remember it being a blue colour scheme, maybe green? It was cool toned. I'm 90% certain the entire website was dedicated to 'extreme' and 'graphic' content. As in, there wasn't really fluff on the site. It took a while to load up, but I was living in the middle of fucking nowhere with shitty wifi trying to load it on my seven year old phone so who knows. I cannot remember the name. I want to say they were organised into cute little categories but I can't lie I don't remember.

It was definitely a product of the old internet though, but I know that's absolutely no use.

However! I remember one (1) specific fanfiction o on this site! And I do not think it was cross posted! However, I do Not have the title! The storyline was essentially Mulder was kidnapped and forcibly given heroin until he was addicted, and then was like. Just dumped? I don't think he got out himself but I can't remember how and then it was all withdrawal/addiction themed hurt/comfort. Mostly hurt. Not much comfort. (In hindsight, that was probably a good tagline for what I remember the site being).

I don't know. I just want to know I'm not crazy and that it actually existed? Anyway, thanks for reading if you read this far lmao.
