And another thing I find hilarious about Garak is that - he is such a snob.

Like, Quark's too vulgar and loud for him, close range fighting is "undignified", no one can set a foot on the station without having this middle aged Cardassian criticizing their fashion choice right in front of their Bolinian salads or whatever, he debates epic literature at lunch, he has had Shakespeare for like 5 minutes and he is already quoting it during life or death emergencies.

And it's absolutely hilarious because this man chopped up his countrymen for a living.

I find Garak intriguing because the concept of some one gentle forced to bé violent fucks. Someone who desperately wants to be good through kindness but was taught that isnt for him. That the only good he could do was carving flesh. But instinctually he feels that its wrong, that in becoming the Sword of god (tain) hé has lost something intrinstic and warped himself into something monstrous and it still wasn't enough.

you have to understand that I got on ds9 tumblr like right before I got to this arc. I had seen a few memes here n there and I honestly thought u guys were joking about dukat’s cosmetic surgery plotline. ds9 is the tv show of all time.

Ok but can u imagine being a straight actor vehemently playing a character as gay and spending the next 30 years talking about how the character is gay in every single interview/comicon/video and even writing two plays and a novel about it, to finally get to voice act the character at the ripe age of 82 and canonically make them gay.
