I actually have this same Simmons Comfort-Pedic IQ200 in a king and absolutely love...Waiting on the adjustable part, so interested to see how this plays out... I had a adjustable in a queen and loved so cannot image I would not love it in a king...Also the Bedgear Dri-Tech sheets look great, I can’t wait to get the new Vertex 6.0 underneath my sheets to make the bed even more amazing...

First Morning after sleeping on the new bed.

Great first night with our Comfor-Pedic IQ and Reverie 8Q sleep system. After putting the adjustable positioning through it’s paces, and finding a couple of comfortable ‘awake’ positions to save as presets, we settled on up 7% elevation at the head. That doesn’t sound like that much, but as a broad shouldered person who is often stacking pillows or slipping my arm under my pillow, that subtle incline made my BedGear Dusk pillow with VerTex fit even better than it did before.

I was actually really surprised we kept our feet so high all night! I would have guessed 25%-35% but 53%, I would have never guessed. After going up a little at a time and comparing ‘Position 1′ to ‘Position 2′ just like in the showroom, Emily felt no comfort difference after going up a little more, but my back felt the most relaxed right at 53%. I thought I might want to lower the foot durinng the course of the night, since I sleep on my side most nights, but I slept really well on the new mattress all night, and did not feel the need to make any adjustments during the night.

I should also note, having the remote on either side is awesome. A must have. If I fall asleep, Emily can still make an adjustment without waking me. (The motors on the 8Q are super quiet) If she decided to sit me up straight in bed, I’m sure I would wake up, but a slight adjustment is not going to do it. I downloaded the iPad app after Emily drifted off to sleep, and it reports the percentage of incline as well as all of the functions from the physical remote, I don’t think I’ll use the app nearly as much as the physical remote, but it is definitely cool, and a nice added bonus.

So, how’d I sleep?)As expected the first night is a bit transitional. Our old bed was less supportive and the Comfor-Pedic IQ actively works with your body all night. Which means, when I first laid down it felt a little firm on my hip and shoulder, but as I settled into a position, the actual support core of the bed adapts to your body, and became much more comfortable.

Once the IQ 200 adapted to my position, which took maybe 60-90 seconds, my back and neck muscles all felt very relaxed and not much longer I drifted off to sleep. Between the Dri-Tec sheets and mattress protector from Bedgear, and the AirCool MicroDiamond comfort layers on the Comfor-Pedic IQ, I never found myself feeling warm, and slept comfortably all night.

The first testI’ll report more during the day and again tonight, but putting my feet on the floor this morning…. First realization, I hadn’t realized that the bed sets up higher than the other one did until this morning. There were several height adjustments as the installers put it together, if someone likes their bed lower to the ground, but I was pleasantly surprised at the distance to the floor and the solid support all the way to the edge of the mattress.

Once my feet hit the floor I felt like both my back and feet were far less stiff than they often are in the mornings. Usually I walk around a bit and stretch, and my routine didn’t change this morning, I was taking a mental inventory of any differences in my physical condition that I could observe. I can definitely see doing a lot less of this in the mornings going forward, and getting right on with my day. At least so far, I feel extremely well rested, and in good shape physically. I’m looking forward to tonight already though! Definitely got my Beautyrest.
