Hi Valentina, I love your work and really looking to learn how to make sims 4 maxis match furni. Do you have any tips or tutorials? I create in second life so I'm very familiar with blender, mostly looking for help with the spec maps and texturing as i feel my stuff always comes out so shiny. Thank you in advance <3!!

Hey! Thank you! I don't think I'm an expert but I can give some tips I usually do to achieve a MM look (although I think my objects are not exactly MM in style).

I think it starts with the modeling. MM items don't have too small details and too thin parts. I like to think about this as if I would have to craft miniature models in real life. No matter how hard I would try, there are some things that are too small to knit/sculpt/draw etc. You can always tell these are miniatures. So I try to start with this in mind and skew the real life ratios of an item to give them a slight cartoony look.

For texturing I can suggest that use simple, stylized textures, not too dark shadows. Try handpainting simple details on you textures. For the specular map, I usually search for something similar in material from the in-game items and export their spec map to see what colors I should use. My best trick yet is to use Gradient Map in Photoshop to match the colors to the in-game one's. I always reduce the alpha layer so it isn't too overpowering. But you have to test a lot to see if it looks good or not.

🎓 In order for this to work, you need the TUNING OVERRIDE that I am currently working on, and you (as a simmer or creator) need to modify your CAS custom content and add a new "SpecialContent" TAG and then define the "TagValueNumber" with one of the unique 9-digit "IDs" I have provided in my glorious spreadsheet. "IDs" are also listed in each of the "Unique TagValueNumbers - Part [X]" posts linked below.

⚠️ Please be advised that (4) unique "IDs" have changed! My pinky promises that I will not make this a regular thing. The "IDs" in red have been replaced by those in white. In the spreadsheet, the changed "IDs" are highlighted in GREEN:

Is it possible to add a BATCH FIX that <LOOKS THROUGH MY BATCH FIX WISH LIST> allows us to add a "SpecialContent" TAG with a custom "TagValueNumber" to a whole folder of custom content? Y'know, similar to the BATCH FIX that allows us to modify "DisplayIndex"? Asking for a friend!

💬 I know a search bar would be awesome, but it would require Scale Form GFX modifications that are beyond my current capabilities. At one point in time, TwistedMexi was working on something similar to Better BuildBuy but for CAS. I have no idea if it was ever finished. For now, this is the best I can give you.

POWDER JINX in ARCANE season 2 ACT II

Ever get annoyed that The Sims 4 has doors with mail slots, but every residential lot still needs a mailbox? Did you put the mailboxes on the ground floor of your For Rent lot for aesthetics, but hate sending your Sim all the way downstairs every time there's mail? Well, here's a solution in two flavors: a pile of mail that goes on surfaces, and a mail holder for your wall.

Functional Mail Pile: Item from City Living made BGC and functional. Four swatches. Though this works on surfaces, please pay attention to where the interaction arrow is pointing. If it faces a wall or another item, it will likely be unreachable.

Functional Mail Holder: Item from Everyday Clutter made BGC and functional. Six swatches. Unfortunately, it is not height adjustable, and changing its height via moveobjects will result in routing issues.

Also, for both items, you will hear the sound of an invisible mailbox door opening/closing when used.
