Chuuya and Atsushi play fighting but Akutagawa or Dazai thinks it's real and attacks Chuuya to protect Atsushi.
Atsushi says to him "We're just play fighting I don't need your protection"
And sends him to a corner so Akutagawa or Dazai slinks off sadly because he just wanted to protect him.
A lot of people in bsd fandom say that only Dazai could actually kill Fyodor but I think that might be wrong
Hear me out here, we know Atsushi’s ability can slice through other abilities right? Well considering that current Fyodor isn’t actually Fyodor, it’s Bram, that would mean current Fyodor is a manifestation of his ability, which means Atsushi could slice through it, similarly to how he can slice through Rashōmon, which would mean the ability would have no effect on him, so Atsushi could probably also kill Fyodor, but the agency would probably stick with Dazai doing the killing just in case.
thanks for listening to (reading) my lil theory :3
Concept: Atsushi’s “death” but he’s still wearing Akutagawa’s coat.
It shields him away from Fyodor’s harsh gaze as he hits the ground. It wraps around him almost like a blanket.
As if some remnant of Rashomon remains inside thanking him for saving its user.
And so when Atsushi “dies” the coat is the only thing he leaves behind. For he’s gone where Akutagawa cannot follow.
Akutagawa picks up the coat and to his surprise he doesn’t envision it on Dazai. But of the many times he has entrusted it to Atsushi.
He leaves it where it lays.
He doesn’t need it anymore.
me impatiently to the little french cat boiling me in a stew: chat am I cooked
pls give atsushi headcanons plsplsplsplslsplpspslss
I feel like a cat that’s been coaxed out from under the sofa.
Sure.
-Atsushi’s multilingual. Many of the orphanage staff are foreigners that served alongside Japan in the Great War and settled down there after it ended.
And so Atsushi grew up hearing many different languages.
-In the corner of Atsushi’s wardrobe he has gifts and trinkets that the Agency have gifted to him. He treasures them all dearly.
-Atsushi likes to take naps during his break on slow days. Just curls up on the sofa under a patch of sunlight.
-On that, Atsushi struggles to sleep when he’s alone. It’s one of the reasons why Dazai had Kyouka stay with him. He feels safe knowing someone else is there with him.
-Atsushi plays with the longer parts of his hair when he’s nervous.
-Atsushi can’t lie for shit but if he will commit to the bit even if everyone knows he’s lying.
-Atsushi has a really high pain tolerance.
-Atsushi didn’t realise how bad his childhood was until the Agency took on a case getting a mother and her kids away from an abusive father.
He saw himself in their eyes and the headmaster in the fathers.
-Atsushi finds it calming to look at the moon. But he does get afraid to look at it when it’s full. As he’d fall into a trance and transform.
-Atsushi found it physically painful to lose his ability in Dead Apple.
-His most treasured possession is his Agency uniform as it’s the first thing that ever belonged to him.
-Atsushi doesn’t quite recall his parents clearly though he knows what they did to him. But unlike with the orphanage, Atsushi thinks he deserved it.
-His sass and cutthroat comments are partly a defence mechanism because for most of his life it was the only way Atsushi could fight back.
-Atsushi gets nightmares about what happened in 55 minutes and what could’ve happened had he had failed.
-When Atsushi hallucinates the best way for him to ground himself is by having some kind of weight put over on him like a blanket.
Or a coat.
-Atsushi was confused the first time Yosano wanted to give him a check up because no one’s ever cared if he was hurt before.
-Atsushi’s ability being able to reverse damage was often used against him. As kids could hurt him and not get in trouble as there was “no proof” they did anything.
So clearly Atsushi was lying.
-Atsushi would often see an orange cat when he was outside during chores. It kept him company and seemed quite intelligent.
-Atsushi chuffs when he’s happy and is very embarrassed about it.
-It took Atsushi a while to come to terms with the fact he’d killed a man (twice now) even if he knows it had to be done.
-Even after knowing the Agency doesn’t run on a points system, Atsushi mentally assigns points to the tasks he completes. And takes them away when he fails.
-Atsushi still has Akutagawa’s coat in his dorm.
my personal silly hc is that sskk both gnaw on each other a lot.. not even in a sexual way they both just seem like chewers to me
PLEASE, YEAH!!!!!!!!!! I especially like this in Beast because I really like how the work emphasizes the thin thin line between human and animal nature, and I like to imagine them with these little non domesticated traits that aren't negative per sé, they're just part of them. I'm especially soft for Atsushi running his fingertips through Akutagawa's canines when they're laying side by side, and again it doesn't have anything sexual about it it's just... They're very beast-like but they also have each other and they can be weird together. It is a very raw, very loving display of affection, a sort of instinctive intimacy that speaks of a vulnerability they would only and exclusively allow to each other. A kind of deep trust and love that's really so inherent of Beast sskk to me
Concept:
Kunikida watching in confusion as Ranpo jumps out of his chair, runs over and grabs the box out of his hand.
“Ranpo? What are you-“
“Get something else.”
It sounds like an order because it was one.
Kunikida frowns, he didn’t think his gift was all that bad. It was a lot more sensible then whatever Dazai had decided to gift Atsushi.
And yet Ranpo’s expression was one weighed heavy by sadness. “I’m afraid I don’t understand” Kunikida confessed to the older detective.
“You don’t want too…” was all Ranpo would tell him. Kunikida left it there, deciding it was best to simply follow Ranpo’s judgment.
He left with a new goal and enough time to spare.
Ranpo watched him leave before looking down at the gift box. He carefully placed buried it his snack drawer. A place no one else would dare open.
Atsushi deserved a birthday where he could be happy and for just a moment be untroubled by his past.
That wouldn’t happen if he opened Kunikida’s gift to find a silver watch inside.
